-Yeah, not enough for Hardy, but it's a good landing spot. Solid concept. Thompson+ would work.
    -Not enough for Cruz.
    -Gross overpayment by the Yankees.
    1. Agree. Hamels gets moved for the right package. Source: mlbtraderumors.
    2. There isn't a club that couldn't use Lee. Boston will trade prospects. Prospects will not fill Fenway seats. Ownership will appease 35k fans before the dozen or so of us.
    3. AC knows the Blue Jays.
    4. Hardy will not be re signed and is not worth a QO. O's lost draft picks this year and will take what they can get if losing.
    5. Same thing. Though I'm not clear on 2nd QO offerings. They might keep him if a supp draft pick is in play.
    6. If the Yanks are making a run...but not Sanchez. PHI doesn't need him.

Still doesn't help you in the war to get Arismendy Alcantara. Only chance E-Jax is moved is if WE get a spect not to help lube us up for losing a prospect, lol.

By the way, I'll believe the whole Hamels may get moved when the source quoted is Ruben Amaro Jr. Even then, I might not. Sometimes he outwits himself (not all that difficult I'd imagine).

Until that time, I am holding staunchly against a Cole Hamels trade. IF it happens, I'll look like an idiot, but what else is new?

Late July in my franchise and I just traded Dan Straily and Renato Nunez from Oakland to Philly for Ryan Howard. I was looking to improve my defense at 1b, while also adding another solid bat. Being 34, I am basically just renting him for a playoff push. So far its working, as in his first game for me he goes deep twice.

Yeah, I don't see this happening. I could see an Edwin Jackson + $$ for prospect X but not when you start adding Cubs spects in as well. The money is not an issue, the Cubs are carrying a payroll far less than half of what they can support.

But, help yourself to Brett Jackson, Josh Vitters, Yoanner Negrin, or Dustin Geiger as the type of spect you'd be looking at in your scenario.

That's fine. Would Jackson+Vitters/Jackson for a good prospect like Davis, DeJong or Lugo be fair and realistic?

Thanks for the feedback guys it was appreciated. I will probably hold off on some of these deals until the offseason or so but just some ideas.

I was surprised with Pompey being a C as well... I'm going to edit him and bump his potential up.

It would have to be a pitcher...and DeJong is getting smashed in A ball, so I'd lean toward no. As long as you are taking only a AAAA spect back with Jackson and eating some money (probably not all of it), and the Cubs are getting a B pitching spect, they might be interested.

Yeah, when the next version of Hybrid drops at some point this summer, that'll be fixed for sure. All the other spects are being/have been looked at as well.

Yeah, I'll work out the B pitching spect. Sounds good.

My rosters are coming out soon too.

As a Cubs fan, I would take any of those 3. How exactly do you handle guys who have vastly different contracts in game vs real life when making a trade? What I mean is in real life Edwin's contract is terrible and getting rid of it would be a plus, but in game he has something like a 2.8M AAV which makes him somewhat of a bargain. Do you just make the trade and pretend his 13M AAV is counting against your budget, or do you have a different way of handling it? Just wondering.

In this case, I'd probably just make the trade, release him and resign him to a contract that basically evens everything out.

I'd love to have JJ back but...He will look for a multi year deal, Manny is ready for SS, you don't give up 1st round picks without a plan to get it back, and finally, he is regressing :-( I'm not Dan D. and have no inside info but would be floored in he is back.

Schoop will hit enough. Not a bunch but he just has to get on base. We have other bats to do serious damage.
