Is it fair? Barely, if you include Shipley AND Bradley. Is it realistic? Absolutely not. Are you in contention?

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm the Indians, Bauer was coming on pretty strong as my #3 pitcher on my playoff run and just went down for 2-3 months with a fractured elbow. To replace him as my #3 I'm thinking of Gallardo since the Brewers are out of the race.

1- Is a Brewers trade of Gallardo for prospects realistic?
2- Would Gallardo for Cody Anderson and Dorssys Paulino be a solid deal for both sides?

Might be worth noting Gallardo is 3-10 with a 3.74 era, 118 IP, 99 ks, 1.24 whip. Other than his record he's had a pretty good year.

Agreed. I don't see any reason why the White Sox would ship Sale. Unless his ratings aren't realistic in his roster set.

I think Gallardo is definitely obtainable, but two top 10 prospects (Indians) is kind of an overbuy, imo.

The White Sox are 20 games back of first(They have a ton of injuries and are horrible. They traded Adam Dunn to The Mariners who are in 1st in the West. Logan Morrison was on the 60 say DL with a torn ACL and Jesus Montero was also on the 60 day DL with a Fractured left ankle.) I'm at the July 31st Trade Deadline and I am 0.5 game back of the Dodgers. Chris Sale is a 90 in my particular roster set as he has progressed from an 88 I believe. Gordon Beckham is 79. Aaron Hill is an 86 he also progressed and is hitting well for me. Archie Bradley has progressed from a 72 to 76. Braden Shipley is a 70 and Aaron Blair (was another interchangeable player) is a 67. Daniel Hudson is an 82 and has an 8-4 record for me. Sale is 11-7 right now.

It looks like the Sox are just going into Rebuild Mode. They Traded Dayan Viciedo and Conor Gillespie to the Phillies for some Minor League Players (Ruf and Buchanan). (Cody Asche is on the DL as well)

I assume this is not 30 team control.

What would you recommend instead? I'd prefer to keep Anderson if I can but don't mind moving Paulino. I have already moved Moncrief and a catching prospect (can't remember name, it's not Mejia but their other catcher prospect) in a deal for Jared Burton (paid a little extra since in division and he's having a great season).

Who else along with Paulino would make sense? Maybe like Paulino, Kime and one other mid-high C pitching prospect?

I noticed Correa is listed, however, he's not named on the game. Am I missing something?

I think to get Gallardo it would be a pitching prospect like Anderson plus a utility, bullpen, or any small upside player. I don't see them wanting a SS/2B prospect as much as a SP, since they have Segura and Gennett.

Not sure how Gallardo's contract works in game, but this is his last year unless his option is picked up. You may only get him for a half of a season, so his price tag shouldn't be terribly high, since he isn't exactly a frontline starter. A prospect like Anderson, who isn't projected to be a 1-2 pitcher but has upside, plus something small sounds like the best scenario. That's just what I think, though.

We've discussed Sale before and what it would take to get him if you're interested in searching the thread. If not, I'll highlight it for you: a ton. Lol, a team is going to have to give up their farm to realistically acquire Sale. He's not only on an extremely team friendly contract, he's one of the premier lefties in the game.

Hill and Hudson are irrelevant to the trade IMO. If the Sox are trading off their major league talent for prospects, I'd assume they'd continue to do that. It would make more sense for them to keep Sale than add Hill/Hudson.

Talks would have to start with Bradley + Shipley + Owings + Blair/Trahan

Of all the teams that could fairly get Sale (because it's just not even close to being realistic), I just don't see the Diamondbacks being one.

Don't know anything about the guy but I have a 20 yr old LF named Anthony Santander with 79 potential and at 56 overall currently. Hitting .292 in AA for the year (only been up for 30 games, but respectable nonetheless). Would Anderson and Santander be a fair deal?

I agree with you about a 2B/SS prospect, specially considering Gennett was an all star and is leading the majors in hitting at .332 for the year.

That sounds like a fine deal to me. Average/good prospect with reasonable upside to go with Anderson. That way it doesn't break your bank for a rental.

Ok so I'm getting no production from Casey Mcgehee after 30 plus games. Who are some 3rd baseman that could be traded this year? I would prefer speed, but power is my second need. Problem with the Marlins is salary matching up because so many guys are cheap. Guys I've looked at are Will Middlebrooks and Martin Prado. Wishful thinking would be Pedro Alvarez or Chase Headley. What is the most realistic and what would it take for them?

After only 30+ games, I think its too soon to realistically say who is for sale. I doubt Pedro Alvarez would be for sale, but if the Padres stink like they do in real life, I could see Chase Headley being for sale. I could see him being shipped for a solid IF or OF prospect plus a future utility guy. They seem to have a decent farm full of arms and are lacking any kind of bat.
