Agree with you. They'd be interested in both.

Thanks! With this trade my team is looking pretty good for years to come, and we still have Dom Brown our stud Hamels(who I want to trade but its probably unrealistic lol) Utley and J-Roll to mentor the young guys and Howard... which is bad... haha. But I have a ton of prospects just out of Lee/Barnett/Byrd.

        Jays Recieve
        R. Montero
        J. Smoak
        R. Franklin
        Hultzen/Elias

        Mariners Recieve
        E. Encarnacion
        C. Young

        Mets Recieve
        C. Rasmus
        Minor piece from SEA?(unsure)

Based on fairness, what do you guys think?
Jays aren't getting NEARLY enough for both Edwin and Rasmus. Not close.

Ok, back at the menu and still looking for a 2B.

Houston: 19-22, 5.0 GB, 2nd place AL West.
          23rd BA, 23rd/25th XBH, 20th HR
          28th ERA

          Mets: 23-17, - GB, 1st NL East.
          12th BA, 5th/25th XBH, 29th HR
          2nd ERA

          Reds: 22-17, 1.0 GB, 3rd NL Central.
          28th BA, 14th/25th XBH, 22nd HR
          11th ERA

          Cubs: 14-26, 9.5 GB, 5th NL Central.
          27th BA, 14th/2nd XBH, 25th HR
          19th ERA

          Altuve, 165 AB, .218
          Murphy, 162 AB, .315
          BP, 146 AB, .274
          Barney, 132 AB, .242

I may just wait till closer to the break unless I begin to have a total collapse. Certain teams doing good I don't see why they would trade a player batting "good", and if Altuve doesn't produce for me it'd be disheartening parting with a pitcher like Nova who is 4-0, 8 games, with a 2.70 ERA.

          Any input?

Basically my first step is figuring out WHO is realistic to trade. I'm interested in trading anyone, but I'm unsure of a few. Lee will ofc be sent in a trade to someone for a bunch of prospects, probably going to try and move Byrd if possible as well. Utley/J-roll I'm unsure of. They're both lifetime Phils and I would think they'd retire a philly, especially J-Roll. Papelbon won't gain be any value but he is pitching great... then the last two main guys.... Burnett, who has a 3 ERA and is pitching great, and lastly, the main guy, Cole Hamels.... I don't know if it would be realistic to trade him because he signed a big contract, but he is 30 and has a 1.50 ERA, and has like a 9 K.9 Ratio... I just feel like he could give me a ton of value, but I'm not sure if it is realistic.

EDIT: Forgot about Ryan Howard as well to add on to the potential trade list.
Sorry, just saw this other wise I would have done what I could to help earlier. Now Rollins could actually be moved as he's made it clear he refuses to accept any trades with him involved because he wants more time to get on top of some of the franchise numbers, mainly hits. If Jimmy has gotten to 2,235 hits, which would put make him the Phillies all time hit leader, he might be willing to move to a contender. Lee is a pretty obvious move if you're looking to rebuild, and pretty much any contender that can take on his salary would love to have him. I personally would like to see Utley play his whole career in Philly, and his new contract with some I believe 3 years of vesting options based on plate appearances may make him hard to move. Because of Papelbon's salary, he'd be tough to move and you wouldn't get too much from him. You might be able to get one impact prospect from Burnett if he's pitching well and there's a contender in your franchise who's starved for pitching, and as for Hamels, his contract will make him pretty hard to move as well. If his numbers are off the charts, the Dodgers might be willing to take on his contract. Plus, Hamels might be open to going there since he's from San Diego. And finally, I didn't see you mention him but in my Franchise with the Phillies, and in real life, there are talks of Kendrick getting moved. You wouldn't get anything more than a couple C's for him in my opinion, maybe a low B if they are desperate, but he's a nice back end of the rotation innings eater that contenders need.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Looking to continue with my own Phillies rebuild (loving how many people are doing it!). Of course I have the pending Lee to LAD deal, although I'm getting kind of nervous because we've entered June and Lee is now 4-6 with a 4.46 ERA. I'm now going to try and look for some young impact bats. I'm interested in maybe trying to obtain a catcher than can either back up Ruiz or just take his stop all together as he's struggling badly. the problem is though that I'm having trouble finding a nice catching prospect that I can get from a contender outside of Gary Sanchez, but I don't think any of the pieces I could send to NYY will be enough for him. Kuroda does have a 5+ era, Pineda has a 4.80 era, David Phelps has a 4.73 and Nova has a 4.97. CC and Tanaka are pitching great though... so just some info if a Sanchez deal would ever happen.

Guys I'm willing to deal for some more young impact bats, specifically at Catcher but at this point I need help everywhere, are:
A.J. Burnett 2-7 with a 4.08 ERA (no run support but he's pitching okay)
                  1.27 WHIP
Kyle Kendrick 1-6 with a 2.56 ERA (even less run support but is pitching great) .83 WHIP
POSSIBLY willing to move Domonic Brown .226 6 HR 18 RBI (struggling)
                  Marlon Byrd .255 10 HR 24 RBI

With these potential guys that I'm willing to move, what kind of young impact bats could I get, and is it even possible or realistic that I could get a deal for Gary Sanchez done? Thanks guys!

Who would the buccos need to give up to get Tyler Pastonicky from the braves?
BJ has been struggling and I was thinking of sending either Tabata or Snyder in the deal, who else would I need to send?

Update on this: Kendrick just threw 6 scoreless innings to get him his 2nd win, making his stats on the year 2-6 with as 2.35 ERA and a .78 WHIP

It's okay, thanks . I already moved Lee to the Blue Jays for Aaron Sanchez, Roberto Osuna, D.J. Davis and Aj Jiminez, Burnett was pitching well so I shipped him off with Byrd for Nick Marintez/C 24 YO pitcher. Utley/Rollins I'm going to keep in Philly, and Biddle was pitching great, moved to A but he got hurt. Hamels had a 1.50 ERA(still does) but got hurt and is back in 6 days, so if he continues pitching like he was, do you think it would sort of be realistic to ship him off to the Dodgers for pretty much their farm system?

It could be possible. The Dodgers have endless amount of money and like I said it would move Hamels closer to where he was from. Also, it also might depend on how their rotation is already doing and if they're in contention, and I'm guessing they are.

How well are Tabata/ Snyder getting on base? In my opinion the Braves need some more tablesetters for their power hitters. Right now I think they have too many high power high strikeout guys and a guy like Freddie Freeman who is good enough to keep it in check for the most part.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So, in my Astros franchise (2nd season), I desperately need a 3rd OF. I'm getting zero production from my LF'ers, which is usually a pretty big offensive output position.

I'm looking at 2 different guys.

I would love to get Alex Gordon. Royals are basically in the same exact position I am in. They are 1.5 games out of the lead in their division. What I'm thinking is this:

                              I get:
Alex Gordon - Hitting .255 with 4 HRs and 16 RBIs in 25 games

                              Royals get:
Asher Wojciechski - 3-1 with a 3.34 ERA in the majors this season
                              Nolan Fontana
                              Andrew Aplin

25 games into the season might too early right now for the Royals to even (realistically) consider trading, but I would love to get him.

The other option I was looking at was Mike Morse in San Francisco. The Giants are 8 games behind the D-Backs. The deal I'm looking at possibly doing for Morse is:

                              I get:
                              Mike Morse

                              Giants get:
                              Scott Feldman
                              Robbie Grossman

Feldman is struggling so far this season, so he might not be a very good option. I could also consider trading Brett Oberholtzer instead, who has a 2.43 ERA.

What do you guys think about these two possibilities?

I mean, it isn't to unrealistic to obtain Sanchez for someone like Lee(if he was pitching well, try and get his stats back to normal and then you can get a big package out of him probs), but you'd need more then just Sanchez for a decent deal... so I think you would probably be better off shipping Lee off to Texas for Alfaro and a few other good impact prospects. He may not come up right away but he can definetely replace him sooner or later. Kendrick could always get you A.J Jiminez considering how he is pitching. Jimenez is a great fielder with a decent bat.... 70 OVR C POT, not terrible and could replace Ruiz until you can grab a real catcher.
