Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Pretty much the same. I'd look into Cueto, Latos, Lester, Price, Scherzer, or Shields. Of those, Price is probably the best, and is ALOT cheaper than Kershaw and Strasburg.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Deadline passed now we got the waiver wire and potential waiver trades.
In my sox season 30 team control I noticed that the giants waived pence I was interested as I am platooning Victorino and Bradley in CF because Victorino can't hit a lick this year .235 BA.
Was thinking Pence could help we need a push sitting a Gb of the 2nd wild card spot.
What's Pences value after being waived and can he handle CF or should I just ride it out with Victorino and Bradley?
Edit: Pence stats:
.260
13 HR
39 RBI
.305 OBP
.427 SLG
.250 vs RHP
.282 vs LHP
A's, Tigers, Rays also strong suitors for Pence all showing interest as they have one or more OF struggling all 3 in A's case.Last edited by Cf3411; 08-08-2014, 06:07 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I am about to start season 2 of my franchise and decided to switch and play with the Cubs this season. They finished towards the bottom and will have a top 5 pick. Would it be extremely unrealistic to sign Aiken since the Astros couldn't sign him and use him as my first round pick? Lets just say Aiken decided to go to JUCO and reenter the draft.Red soxComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok so I'm at June 14th, 2014 in Season 1 with my Pirates. I had a season-ending injury to C Russell Martin (MCL tear) which also might end the career of the 31-year old. My backstops are now Chris Stewart & Omir Santos, neither of which are going to really help my offense.
I'm currently 32-35 (7.0 GB division, 5.0 GB WC) and I have been improving lately so I'm very optimistic about my chances of making a run during the last 100 games of the season. I need a viable offensive option at C the rest of the way. There's a suitor out there in the Houston Astros as they are 23-46 (14.0 GB division, 15.0 GB WC). Stick a fork in them they are simply done and their string of #1 picks is going to continue.
Target: C Jason Castro (26 yrs old LHB | 81 OVR | B POT | 1-year @ $3.6M)
Stats: 51/205 (.249) - 6 HR - 22 RBI - .339 OBP - .361 SLG - .224 RHP - .350 LHP
Spreadsheet value: Mid B, Mid C
He's not doing amazing or terrible so the value seems like it should be around the same.
Pittsburgh is will to part with:
C Reese McGuire (Low B) - he's 19 and hitting .273 in AA in 121 AB's. He projects to be a solid C one day
SP Luis Heredia (Mid B) - 19 years old and still in A. Projects to be a very good prospect
SS Jacoby Jones (Low B) - 21 years old, nothing outstanding
CF Barrett Barnes (High C) - 22 years old 55 OVR
I'd be ok with Heredia + McGuire if I need to overpay bc I'm trying to fill the hole of an injury. I'm in "win now" mode
I also drafted pretty well so I'll be able to replace Heredia with guys I selected in the 2014 draft.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

But if you're looking for a temp replacement....if Torrealba is still a FA...he's not a bad stop gap.

Still looking to deal Rasmus to a team for a MLB ready CF with more contact and maybe a low end starter or bullpen help. Any suggestions?
He's batting .237 with 15 HR and 37 RBI at the breakComment

I'll stick with the two of them. I'll try to get better at pitching with the two of them. I'll Develop them some as well.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
For guys who complain I didn't read through the 300 pages of discussion, some of you guys had a hard time reading (or comprehending) one post (albeit long).
1) The Oakland Athletics offered me a trade.
2) How the A's acquired these players I do not know.
3) Normally I decline these offers because it just isn't worth it for my immediate goals.
4) I only brought this topic here because the deal seemed to good and was actually tempting me to pull the trigger.
5) I explicitly wrote a paragraph detailing my outfield and how I thought losing Ellsbury wouldn't kill me too much.
Now I did delete a sentence at the end where I was asking if such a move, a look towards the future while hurting my chances now, would be seen as disrespectful to Jeter. The only reason I came here was because the deal looked way too good. I got my answer. Seriously though, if you are going to be snarky, at least take the time to read.
Anyways, the trade is dead in the water and I'm moving on. I'll just try to rebuild the traditional Yankee way, overpay free agents well into their prime to deals that extend well beyond the actual players usefulness.
And the bolded method is still far better than ripping the cpu. It's the Yankee Way.
In mine, the Twins still have Buxton. Sano is on the O's with him struggling to develop (he's doing the worst out of the three - still 99 POT but languishing in the mid-70's OVR), and the Twins went and got Baez to replace him heh.
Looks like Buxton and Baez will get the call for the Twins. Both on are their 40-man and played in Spring Training, though Baez did rather poorly.
Yeah, no idea how those tags apply. Mets were "rebuilding" even though they almost won the NL East. Why didn't it switch to "playoff push"?
Deadline passed now we got the waiver wire and potential waiver trades.
