Man, that'd be crazy. All they need is pitching and this team would be good. The offense is there.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I have Rasmus who is batting .247, 6HR, 17RBI close to 2 months into the season. He went down for 2-3 weeks with an injury. While out Gose has been great for me batting .427 in the 2 weeks so far that he has been out and is showing great speed/defense. I don't wanna send Gose back down but there is no one else as the rest of my bats are for LHP to platoon w/ Lind, Rasmus/Gose, and Francisco. I am leading my division by 6 games.

The only thing I really need is SP. I have had Dickey, Morrow and Hutch on the DL thus far. Dickey is back and will make my next start. Morrow is back 2 starts after Dickey, Hutch out for a month. I called up Sanchez to start and see what he had. Pitched 5 innngs of 2 run ball in the 1st start and then in the 3rd inning of the 2nd he went down. out 6-8 weeks w/ Calf tear lol. Happ has been filling in as well and has been doing solid. Morrow is the only real SP that has struggled and hes back in 2 days. My rotation is now Buehrle, Happ, Stroman, Morrow, Dickey.

MY RP have been okay, but have struggled. If it wasn't for my potent offence a lot of games would have been blown. would like a RP and maybe starter who can fill in if anymore injuries occur. I have no holes at bat.

SO finally my question. I want to deal Rasmus and get back either a CF depth kind of guy (4th OF kind, age not a factor) + either a decent RP or 4th-5th SP. Or I could take a lesser RP and get maybe Rasmus+____ and even + _____ if need be for the backup CF + RP + 4th/5th SP. I asked a while ago but that was when I considered dealing Rasmus for a contact starting CF.

      Thanks in advanced!

EDIT: Rosters are from a week before real life MLB trade deadline.

I am playing as the Braves. I finally gave up on the Dan Uggla experiment. Through 40 games, .126 2HR 5 RBI. I traded him and SP G. Floyd to the Giants for UI Brandon Hicks. Since the contracts are written user friendly its not hard to pull off some deals.

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Started up a Phillies 'chise with realistic salaries and I want to get a youth movement going.

I'd like to open up a spot in the pen for Ken Giles in spring training by trading away Mike Adams and his 1 year/7 million contract.

As you know, the Phillies need depth everywhere. Thoughts on where I can send Adams? I'm thinking something like mid to high C in exchange.

Teams that could use Adams? Every team looking for a veteran SU/CP option and did so early in 2014. I'm thinking the following teams (and a potential return package):

BAL for Michael Ohlman (or Dariel Alvarez + minor piece)
          NYY for JR Murphy
CWS for Andre Rienzo + minor piece
          DET for Corey Knebel
LAA for RJ Alvarez (preferably) or Luis Jimenez + minor piece
          TEX for Nick Tepesch
          COL for SP Christian Friedrich

We've touched base on this before in this thread but the Jays and Mariners make a really nice trade partner when it comes to a CF like Rasmus.

You could probably look at Rasmus going to Seattle for something like Saunders, E.Ramirez/B.Maurer and Y.Medina/D.Leone. Would be a nice depth move for you. Can't say if it fair in your 'chise if we don't have the M's numbers but to think that's where you should start sniffing around

I think you are pretty much good on all of these with the exception of TEX and COL. I don't think COL (or CHW for that matter) would be in the bidding for Adams and I think Tepesch is an small overpay (maybe add another small piece coming from PHI).

You are right though, most everyone is/was looking for this kind of piece. If you are just shopping, also check MIL, SF, ARZ. You know values just as well and better, you've got your market established above.

All pretty reasonable. I like the Yankees trade most for you if you're planning to move Chooch. Just go with whichever of these packages you like most (assuming all teams are contending).

You're probably right on COL and CWS. Could probably go with a lesser SP instead of Tepesch from TEX as he'd go right to AAA for me anyway.

Yes Chooch will be moved, most likely in July. Since it's the startup of spring I'd say the Yankees have a good chance of contending after signing Ellsbury, McCann and Beltran. Mo's retired as we all know and Adams could fill the RHP/SU void created by Robertson

Curious to see what you do with the other pieces. I tried messing around with PHI but, in the end, couldn't stop dumping people and ended up with what looked like an expansion team...and Hamels.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of as well. My plan is to have Utley retire as a Phillie and keep Revere around as a 4th OF type while Dom Brown will have every chance to prove that 2013 was no fluke. Love Papelbon from his Red Sox days so I'm guessing he stays. That leaves Howard, Lee, Rollins, Byrd and Ruiz as the major pieces leaving. I'll probably sit tight on those guys until after the June draft though unless and injury forces my hand.

Aiming to bring back some old Phillie prospects for AAA depth in Jason Donald, Lou Marson, Kyle Drabek and Carlos Carrasco. Those guys are probably the only targets for me during spring as I build depth.

                        D. Santana (HOU) was a complete mistake on raj part and would be a nice young piece to play opposite Brown. I could see Rollins in HOU as veteran leadership for 2 years until Correa is ready...After he gets the hit record.

That's a nice idea but as I play with real life salaries, Rollins' 12 mil/year seems steep for the Astros. Figured I'd play it out so that he gets his hit record and then ship him off to a contender on the West Coast like what would probably have happened IRL. Preferably the Bay Area I guess

You might be surprised by Revere. His defense in game is great (unlike real life) and he always hits at least .280 and steals around 60 bases for me in my franchises. He's actually useful in the game as a leadoff guy.

He surprised me big time by hitting a HR off Brandon Morrow in the 2nd spring training game . He's definitively someone I'll keep around though. He's a cheap source for speed and like you said, plays pretty good D in the game. Good contact hitter and I can imagine him finishing around .280'ish. Hopefully with around 100 runs scored as well

Houston wouldn't want to take his salary. I also don't see us trading Santana yet
