I don't see a Braun deal as realistic for a lot of reasons. I still don't like the Mets. Too cheapskate. Thanks, Bernie.

I don't see why you wouldn't want something around Latos and Winker. I'm pretty high on Winker although I believe he's hurt.

I do like Latos+, was just asking if you thought I could get +. Which I do. Latos+Winker or whatever is interesting to me. So is Calhoun. I may bring a 3 team deal into that. The Angels' pitchers did really well so maybe I'll move one of them for something I like in a 3 way deal. This is a situation where a 3rd team is useful imo.

Reds, Dodgers, Angels are the best packages rn.

If it were Braun for prospects I'd agree but with another superstar in play I think its a possibility

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Trades that would fit in a Reyes 3 way:

Skaggs (3.68 ERA, probably 2.5 WAR) for Santana (1.5 WAR)
There's the pitcher/hitter discount that evens out the WAR, and Cleveland is awful with no pitching so maybe Skaggs would be nice and Santana is 27 so maybe he could move.

Skaggs/Richards (3.8ish ERA, probably 2.5 WAR) for Pence (1.5 WAR)
Giants are rebuilding, fairly straightforward. Meeeh.

Position Prospect from the Cubs for Skaggs/Richards
WTNY, who do you think the Cubs would deal for either? I really like this fit a lot. Skaggs/Richards are pretty perfect fits for CHC.
          Spoiler

Also: Betts? BradleyJr+? JP Crawford (ooh that'd be nice)? Moran? Courtney Hawkins+? Shipley (ooh that'd be nice too)? Nimmo? Manaea? Berrios+?

If I had to pick favorites...

I like the Cubs as the best fit, Santana, Berrios.

Next tier: Crawford, Shipley, Nimmo, Manaea.

          Then Hawkins/Bradley Jr/Betts/Pence.

I don't think I understand what's going on here, but Castro, Alcantara, and Schwarber could be in play for Richards. Bryant isn't going anywhere. Ditto Soler.

              The trade would look like:

              Jays: Calhoun, Alcantara/Castro/Schwarber
              Cubs: Richards/Skaggs
              Angels: Reyes

I don't see LAA giving up Richards and Calhoun for Reyes (or Richards at all for Reyes). Calhoun and Skaggs, maybe. You're probably getting Alcantara if it's Skaggs. Cubs would need more to show for Castro. Arismendy would solve your 2B problem.

Yeah, Skaggs and Alcantara was what I was thinking. That's definitely a package I'll look at.

                    Using the hybrid rosters:

                    Orioles get:
                    Brandon Beachy sp
                    Gavin Floyd sp

                    Braves get:
                    Drew Dosch 3b
                    Michael Ohlman c
                    Parker Bridwell sp

I was glad this trade went through. I had a glut of starting pitchers being Atlanta, and really only two B prospect positional players. So Baltimore got two "quality guys" who slot in as #2 and #3 respectively. Meanwhile giving up their #10-#12 prospects, whose route to the show are blocked. And coincidentally, contain similar question marks as to who I was giving up. Dosch wouldn't bump Manny at third. Ohlman had Wieters and Sisco in front of him. And Bridwell is the 5th or 6th ranked pitching prospect in their system. Hopefully Dosch can slide into third once Chris Johnson's contract is over. Ohlman could potentially share time with Bethancourt when Justin Upton leaves for free agency and Gattis replaces him in left. And Bridwell probably will become a mid-to-long relief guy.

At the end of June in my franchise, and I'm looking at replacing Mark Reynolds at 1B because well you know....I have no need for a Lefty though because Hunter Morris has been amazing for me in the month and a half I've had him called up. (.312/.312/.679 10HR 24 RBI in only 34 games) Unfortunately he's injured for 2 months and I'm left with Reynolds as my everyday guy instead of having the platoon I had.

I'm looking for another righty to platoon with Morris when he's back. Only guy I have in mind at the moment is Billy Butler and his stats are: .263/.315/.396 9HR 33RBI. Is he still worth the spreadsheet value of High B Mid B High C???? I think that's a bit steep for his #s

Royals are leading the Central and are 4 games ahead of the Tigers

I wouldn't want Butler on an NL team. His defense is just terrible. Not sure if KC would trade him either if they are contending because I don't think they have anyone to replace him.

Pretty solid deal given the reasoning behind it. Now, if you were Baltimore, I'd say that you were probably getting a bit too much in return for what it's worth.

Like moser said. It's hard to see the Royals trading Butler if they're leading the central. Especially since they don't have anyone else ready to step in at DH.

To answer your question, a mid B and a high C seems steep. I'd go low B and high C.

Since you've passed the draft and FA signings can be traded, how about Kendrys Morales?

How's Boston doing? I'm thinking Mike Napoli.

If you're not really big on realism, you could get Paul Konerko.

Justin Smoak is a switch hitter and most likely available.

I would love a hard throwing LHP out of the pen in my playoff push.

Philly is pretty thin in their system with pitching. They have four B prospects (Biddle 22 yrs, O'Sullivan 26 yrs, Gonzalez 21 yrs, Martin 24 yrs). Phillies are 50-58 and 11.5 GB in NL East and like 8 GB in WC. They're pretty much done.

I fill a big need as my bullpen has been very inconsistent. Philly gets a potential mid-rotation starter if he progresses well.

I fill a big need as my bullpen has been very inconsistent. Philly gets a potential mid-rotation starter if he progresses well.

This is July 31st, last day to deal!

                                Thoughts?
Realistically the Phillies wouldn't move Diekman in my opinion. If you want a lefty they would much rather move Bastardo because they have cheaper options in Diekman and Hollands to replace him. Bastardo doesn't throw as hard but he's the more realistic target. Diekman and Giles are the future of the Phillies pen.

If you don't care about that though I would say a mid-B would be fair probably.
