6 games into my Mariners franchise. I noticed (C) Brayan Pena is out 1 to 2 months for the Reds. I have Humberto Quintero down in the minors and he isn't on my 40 man roster and the Reds need a backup catcher. Would Quintero for Ramon Santiago be a fair trade? I think they're the same age and Quintero is a 70 and Santiago is a 69.

Wouldn't the Reds be satisfied with Tucker Barnhart as the backup to Mesoraco with Corky Miller starting at AAA?
Value wise, I guess it's good. Realistically I think the Reds signed Santiago this past winter right? That's probably the only holdup.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

I think Quintero has very little, if any, value if he is playing in the minors at his age.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Is Ben Cherington also clearing out his office in preparation for getting fired over this deal? Wow. Cuddy does not have that type of value, not close. I'm not saying Owens is unmovable, but 2 A POT SPs for Cuddy? That's absurd, even if Ball is only an "A". I think Ball, by himself, is slightly too much for a Cudder rental and I don't like Ball much.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm going off of memory but after Pena, I think they're highest rated catcher in my season was a 63. If Santiago signed with Cincinnatti in the off-season then I'm not pursuing this trade only 6 games into the season. Usually, I'm not one to trade players early as I prefer to let some of the season play out. At the moment, I'm trying to remember the other backup or minor league infielders the Reds had. I think it was Hanrahan, Santiago, Chris Nelson and somebody else."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Nelson was picked up as a milb free agent this winter if I'm not mistaken. He could be an option. Or the injury plagued Hannahan could return to Seattle? Hannahan would require a catcher worth a bit more than Quintero though - Jesus SucreFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I assume when you say Seager hit .260/.320, you are talking about your game? Because he absolutely crushed it in real life and ending his season hitting over .330 in AA as a 20 y/o. He hit .347/.398/.597 over 2 levels. This child is a beast.
As for Reyes' value, too much analysis can be paralysis. He has a spreadsheet value and I'm sure you, as a strong Blue Jays fan, most of all would know what a good update to that value would be. I would just suggest to stay away from Top 20 prospects, because I doubt any team values a good, yet aging SS that much. I might also add that his value could take a small hit since there's gotta be a good reason that you want to deal him so badly. With guys I really want to trade anyway, I always take back slightly less in return as a cost of doing business.
Good list. Could possibly add Texas to it.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In addition to the other teams being tossed around, I would add TEX, HOU, ARZ, SF, PHI. Both of these guys are legit #1 on most teams, the bidding is going to be stupid high but I have a feeling neither is going to take the highest bid but go wherever they want to play."for love of the game" - B. Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my 30 team control franchise the Cubs lead the division by a 0.5 game over my Cardinals and I want to move Lackey due to his age. I just got Michael Wacha back from the DL and I need to move a SP.
My top 3 choices are Cubs, Rangers, Blue Jays
Cubs targets: Dan Vogelbach 22 1B 68 OVR B Potential
Rangers targets: Ti'quan Forbes 18 SS 65 OVR B Potential, Ronald Guzman 18 1B 54 OVR B Potential
Blue Jays targets: Franklin Barreto 18 SS 63 OVR B Potential
Which of these targets is the most realistic?St. Louis Cardinals
Chicago Bulls
Indianapolis Colts
Northern Illinois Huskies

Probably Vogelbach, due to him being blocked by Rizzo at 1B.Comment
