Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Singleton I like, as I've played with him a lot last year. But he might be a bit green for the spot I'm trying to fill in my line-up anyway.
I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with Carter though, as he seem to look a lot like Alvarez, who I'm struggling with, rating-wise (good power, but poor contact and plate vision). I can live with the idea of trading someone like Glasnow, who's my #1 prospect according to MLB.com, but only if he can get me (alone, or in a package with prospects mentioned above) a good clean-up batter to put behind McCutchen, who can also hit for average.
But I'm not sure any scenarios like that are even possible, as 1B who seem to fit that description are pretty rare. Abreu is out of reach, I'm pretty sure Goldschmidt and Rizzo are too, and I'm not really interested in older guys like Pujols or Ortiz. Encarnacion, maybe...but then again, I don't really see the Jays moving him.
I guess I'll have to wait for Polanco, hopefully he can become that guy for me.Last edited by KomicJ; 10-26-2014, 01:23 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Probably looking to trade Ian Kinsler for a younger 2B. In 2015. Who comes to mind? I was thinking Dee Gordon because what I'm looking for (As well as IRL Tigers) is speed.

True but in case it goes south... Wait I have Betancourt and Leyba at 2B too. Guess I didn't think it through.
I'm pretty much stacked at almost every position. Can't do anything I guess

Outfield, SP depth, RP (don't trade Kinsler for it), potentially 3B in case Castellanos sucks, etc"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
First one is a 70 overall, 90 potential prospect with both Contact and Power already at 60+. Doesn't have a canon of an arm yet, and fielding/reaction needs a bit of work, but I think he could challenge for the position (1B/3B) as early as next year.
The second one has pretty much the same batting skills, with more quickness, but I don't think he's quite good enough defensively to play in the middle, at least not without a couple of seasons in the minors first. Still, he's a 69 overall, 89 potential.
So I guess I'll live with what the Pirates have right now, and see how it goes next year. Might try to move Davis/Sanchez and Alvarez near the deadline...if they can get me anything good. If not, I'll probably try to re-sign Davis and Alvarez to short term deals as an insurance policy.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'll probably trade for a 3B since Castellanos is slumping hard. I'm probably looking at Maikel Franco (Maybe a long shot but who knows) and maybe Brett Lawrie (Toronto has a need at 2B, since Kinsler was one of the best 2Bs in 2014)

What do you guys think is fair for G Laird? I'm the Giants and want to add a backup Catcher to get Posey some rest down the stretch.Comment

Rays franchise
I was looking to trade for Scott Van Slyke. I need some pop in the OF and 1B position vs left handed pitchers and Van Slyke seems a reasonable get for me. Any idea who I should give up for him?Comment
