If you really want Papelbon, be my guest haha. Burnett realistically might not be a good option because he chose Philly to stay near family and has a no trade clause I believe. Lee and Hamels would be much more realistic targets, with Lee probably being the most realistic. For either one you'd probably have to give up Henry Owens and another pitcher like Barnes if you went after Lee and Ranaudo if you chose Hamels. Then I'd say either Cecchini or Mookie Betts/ Swihart to finish the deal. Good luck!

Now that's not enough, haha. Jake Lamb could work nicely. Or Brandon Drury."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Thanks AC. I'll get him the info.
He'll probably be bummed no Shipley is coming back, and try to start playing the "well, what if I add x, or x + x" game, haha.Comment

If he wants Shipley as the Marlins, it'd take Marisnick having a great season imo. Or Yelich. Or Moran + something nice."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok, I think I finally figured out all of the trades I potentially want to make at my deadline. Decided not to move Hamels, Papelbon, or Byrd.. unless you guys think they would make sense to move more than the other guys I picked.
Potential Trade Ideas:
1. Dom Brown to Boston for Mookie Betts and either Anthony Ranaudo or Matt Barnes (Boston has a struggling OF this year and Brown is playing well. now hitting .260 with 19 HR and 44 RBIs)
2. Josh Willingham to Boston for Matt Barnes or Ranaudo ( Thinking that Boston would only want one or the other between Willingham and Brown, so I guess it just depends on if they want an older guy who is having an outstanding year, .262 21 HR 78 RBIs, for a little cheaper or pay more for Brown)
3. Nelson Cruz to Detroit for Drew Verhagen and either Jake Thompson or Jonathan Crawford. O's are pretty much completely out of the race and Cruz is enjoying a nice season, DET's OF is struggling all around.
4. I have three ideas for Samardzija
1. to Yankees for Gary Sanchez and either Mason Williams or Heathcott. Kuroda and Nova both struggling for yankees and they are right in the race.
2. to Texas for Jorge Alfaro, and either Luke Jackson (moved to A POT) or Odor. Texas leading AL West comfortable but have some pitching problems, particularly with Martin Perez.
3. to Blue Jays for Drew Hutchison or Aaron Sanchez, plus Dwight Smith JR. and maybe Daniel Norris?
5. Last trade idea here: Alexei Ramirez to LAD (Hanley is out for the season) for Tom Windle, and Chris Reed.
What do you guys think? Which ones should I make or not make as I finish up my last few days in July?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
1. That's far too much for Brown.
2. It would have to be Ranaudo.
3. That probably isn't enough for Cruz.
4. Scenario 3 with Sanchez is best but I dunno, I can't really see any of them.
5. That's fine."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Thanks for the quick reply! I'll either have to reevaluate Brown or just hold onto him I guess. If the Ranaudo for Willingham move makes sense, I guess I can have that one done then. I can always add Eugenio Suarez to the Cruz deal if necessary. Should I just have Samardzija stay with the Cubs then? I'd like to move him if possible, and I'll keep the 5th one in mind, it was more of just a type of throw in.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think he more wanted to trade Ozuna for a package centered around a young, defensive-first SS (as Hech apparently isn't even cutting it on defense).
I assume he mentioned Collmenter or Miley because either one could eat some innings for a couple of seasons. I'm not too sure on that one.
I recently traded for Marrero (SS, Red Sox ORG) in my Padres Franchise, and didn't even think to mention him. I'm not sure if he's interested, but do you think Ozuna could be had for Marrero + a pitcher? Maybe Workman or Doubront? Or someone else?
I'm honestly terrible at putting trades together, so I appreciate the help, haha.

He seemed like he was dead set on a Yelich - Marisnick - Stanton OF, and I'm not sure he would deal Moran.

Ozuna + Cishek for Marrero + Middlebrooks could work."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

He's a diehard Rangers fan, so I should have known this was coming, haha. Should I tell him no way, to take Gregorious and call it a day?
Thanks again, AC.Comment

Awesome, just texted him and he's going after Gregorious, but before he completes that trade, he wants to know if there is anyhow Profar could be dealt for Ozuna + any other pieces, like a SP. He said Andrus is locked up at SS and Odor is playing 2B with Sardinas capable of playing both MIF spots.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think he's going with Gregorious + Chase Anderson, SP. We went to HS with Chase, and they're pretty good friends IRL, so we always try to snag him in our Chises'. He said Gregorious had a pretty good season in limited time, and that he likes the trade a lot.Last edited by Coper3000; 06-14-2014, 09:30 PM.Comment
