That is strange. I've started 6 players, and have been called up by the end of June in all of them. I've always skipped AAA too. My SP was called up after 6 games. That was the fastest. And my SS was called up on May 30th. That was the longest. I keep starting over because I want to get called up to AAA first. But it just wont happen.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
is there some secret way to get called up or something? I feel like my players are glitched.
my first player, a 75 overall power hitting SS, should have been called up long ago. here are his stats:
309 at bats, .379 AVG, 25 HR, 117 Hits, 77 RBIs, 10 Steals
I just finished the AA all star game and my potential is still at a D and my performance is still "as expected".
My second player, a closing pitcher, was the 1st overall pick in the draft. Never missed a save, more strikeouts than hits allowed, no HRs allowed, sub 1.00 ERA... basically as good as it gets. played a whole season like that and didn't even get invited to spring training?
what am I missing? because this makes me not want to play anymore.SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Blah...
Doing good at double A. Hitting 369. After two great games I get the dynamic difficulty up to All-Star and I get called up to Triple A where I have been absolutely humbled so far.
In other news, as a first baseman I feel that the opposition bunts for hits far too often.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Playing my SP on the NH Fisher Cats (AA) against Binghamton Mets in their home stadium, just got my 13th punchout, and when I struck that last guy out...i hear someone from the crowd yell "AHHHHHHHH COME ONNNNN!!!".
Was the funniest thing I ever heard in a game. =)
Wanted to share it.
I thought that was great, I laughed out loud. I deserved it.Believe None of What You Hear, and Half of What You See.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
As a SS I did horrible in the showcase 3 years in a row got drafted in the 7th round by the Padres (I don't mind, I kind of like being an underdog.).
After about a month or two in my first year the starting SS in AAA got injured so I moved up and played the rest of the season in AAA. I batted .261, .440 SLG with 11 HR, 64 RBI, 28 SB and lead the league in triples (8).
In 2015 I signed a 1 year $50k contract to start back in AA. In the first month I batted .368, .614 SLG with 3 HR, 19 RBI, 14 SB. One month in I got moved up to the majors. First at bat as a Padres was a 2 RBI single. I'm only 3 games into my MLB career so we'll see how it goes (batting .308 so far).
Also as this is my first year owning The Show I'm happy that I've already got my dynamic batting difficulty up to HOF ++, but who knows if it'll stay up there now that I'm in the majors.Last edited by The_Balm; 05-11-2014, 11:49 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Closer's always take a while to get to the majors because they progress slower than everyone else. As far as your SS the D potential is whats hurting you. In my experience, the higher your potential the faster you can earn a promotion. For example on PS3 I had a guy with B potential and PS4 my guy has A. With mostly identical stats at the same position in the same organization my B potential guy played longer in AA and then played most of a season in AAA where as my A potential player earned a promotion straight from AA to the bigs after 2 months.
soooooo even though my guy is far and away the best player in AA and clearly better than anyone on the AAA or major league roster he can't get called up because of "potential"?
I guess I just wasted a few days, don't even want to play the game anymore.Comment

As far as your SS you will get promoted eventually, but you may just want to restart. I've been told that lower potential also influence how much your character will regress when you don't upgrade something in a specific period of time.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I just posted this. I've had a D potential the whole time, I'm in the MLB now.

Yep. I mean essentially potential influences the amount of time they think you need to develop. Stay patient with your closer and the most important stats to work on to get promoted as a closer are the makeup stuff.. Pitching clutch, Hits, HRs, and BB's.
As far as your SS you will get promoted eventually, but you may just want to restart. I've been told that lower potential also influence how much your character will regress when you don't upgrade something in a specific period of time.
sigh. I'll give the closer one more shot but it's not looking promising. I played a full season and simulated 2 after that, like I said I couldn't even get into spring training but maybe it's because of his stats. he's only like a 55 overall because I put all his points into his fastball, curveball, and the swing and miss rating (forgot what it was called). thanks for the info.Comment
