In RTTS what are the experience points used for? For example, I'm a Level 7 and after each game I get some more "XP" and the bar moves up. What's the point of ranking up? Does it give me a multiplier on the training points earned with each game played? And what factors go into determining how much XP you get awarded with each game?

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Is anyone have a problem with having a great hitter who keeps getting set at the bottom of the hitting order?
I'm about 25 games into my first year. I have a 15 game hit streak going, I'm hitting .350 overall and 12 for my last 24 at bats, with 3 HR and 20 RBI. My speed rating is decent.
Yet despite this and by far leading the team in batting average, I am usually set 8th in the order, sometimes 9th and sometimes 7th. Very rarely do I get a 6th spot, and many games ago when I was not doing so great I was set in 2nd position in the order once.
What's the trick to getting set higher in the order? I really don't like being in the bottom of the order because it means in some games I only get 3 at-bats.
Thanks!Comment

Go to interactions and asked to get moved up in the lineup, and what is your potential i think that may have something to do with itOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Now in my 3rd season in as a LF just signed a 3 Year 4.5M Starter deal with the Yankee's. So far in my past 2 seasons I've been injured in the last months. Hopefully now I can stay healthy and win some awards and have a shot of winning a championship. Was batting .321 in spring training hopefully my streak continues of nice hitting.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Yea great point about the potential. My potential is a D unfortunately. This happened because I am new to the MLB series, so I didn't do to well in the 3 scouting games.
So - what can I do to improve my potential? Does a D rating mean no matter how good I do in the minors I will always be treated like a mediocre player? With a .350 average, 12 hits in my last 24 at bats, 15 game hit streak, some homers and good RBIs I am probably the hottest player in the minors right now. So I would think my potential would go up??Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Created a SP "Vaughn Forrester".. (His parents were big Rick Vaughn fans.) 4 seam, slider, and a 12-6 curve. Circle change and something else to be added later. I have the 30k stubbs, but spent 500 on top of the initial 500 all new RTTS players get to bring up stamina and control a little.
Did fine in the showcase, drafted by my Dodgers, felt like a kid in a candy store. Literally jumping up and down making a ruckus.
Tore it up during the first month in AA, then got called up to the show in the first week of May. WAAAAH?? Is this some bug? But anyway...
My first start is @ Washington. Nearly shaking from being afraid and scared at having to face some of their bats. But I did ok, got a no decision, pulled in the 6th inning.
My second start is where the magic happened. Mother's Day home game versus the Giants. Sell out crowd, not an empty seat anywhere. "oh great.." here we go again.." But I did ok, the best part- the game is 0-0 in the 5th, and I, the lowly pitcher is up to bat with bases loaded, with Hudson pitching. Ended up hitting a miracle blooper (I really stink at hitting!) for a base hit w/ 2 RBI's. Won the game 3-2 and got player of the game.
Extremely memorable game. I can only imagine what the rest of the season has in store.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I started a new RF named Clark Kent. After not doing so well in the Showcase I was drafted in the 4th Round by the Pirates. I have been going on an absolute tear within the first few games of the Season in Double A Minor. My second at bat was a homerun as well as my first Double A hit. A few innings later I got a no doubter that unfortunately I didn't get recorded correctly. I do have a highlight reel of the last few games on youtube though. But right now my stats are .465 batting average with 43AB. It went down the last few games because I was getting more ground outs and some stupid strikeouts. I also have 6HR and 14RBI and a .953SLG.Comment

XP gives you Stubs to use to buy stuff in game.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Those don't really seem to correlate though. I think you just get a few stubs for playing a game. I have earned 250XP in a game and gotten 3 stubs. I've earned 187XP in a game and gotten 3 stub. Its not like you rake them in to buy anything. 1,000 stubs is the cheapest thing to buy. You know how many games that takes when you earn 3 stubs a game. That is over 300 games.
Unless you get more for different game modes. I've only earned just over 350 stubs in my 100 or so games I've played in RTTS.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
ugh idk whats going on with my batting, on my ps3 version of 13 in my rtts i was atleast a solid hitter where i was an rbi machine, now on the ps4 everything i hit is either straight to a baseman or a popout, ive played 1 full season of my rtts and manually ive only hit two homeruns(well 1, the other was an in the park),most strong hits gas out despite my power and contact being even at 80, and im using the same control scheme ive been using for years...ughLast edited by brent3419; 05-13-2014, 01:52 PM.NFL: New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I wanted to try a SP RTTS but I'm terrible. What does everyone use for pitching, pulse or meter?
Also on meter, am I supposed to aim for the little bit of green on the meter and then the yellow line? Bc at first I though I was supposed to go all the way to the end of the red and back to the yellow line...that was getting me terrible results.
Sorry, I'm new to this game.Fino Alla Fine

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Ever since I accidentally redeemed 30,000 training pts to my 2nd baseman, I've found using him a little boring, too good, too early I guess. So I decided to finally start "Captain's" other characters I planned on doing eventually.
I started my SP earlier today and used a different build than I usually do. I started him with 5/5 Velocity and added his remaining pt to break. His pitch repertoire is:
RFB: 96-99mph: This pitch screams like a 4seamer, but still provides enough break to shatter bats and hearts all over the world. Change-Up: 83-86mph For the first time I chose a straight change over my beloved Circle-Change I've dominated with for the last 5 years. However, this year the Change-up is easily my favorite pitch in the game as it complements the 99mph R-fastball perfectly. When Captain has the change working it goes up at 83 and drops out of the strike zone faster than Thor's hammer could come down on the skull of some poor criminal. Slider: 85-89mph The slider is just as dominate as always, once I played around with wind-ups until I found the one that gave the break I wanted (yes, wind-ups influence the pitches break) this pitch rips away from RH batters quicker than Captain can steal their women.
He had a pretty good showcase, but it was a little strange. In the first two games he gave up a lead off single before coming back to strike out the next 6 guys he faced. His final showcase line 4 hits 0 runs 1 BB and 16k's.
Captain was unfortunately drafted 4th overall by the Minnesota Twins (I don't have anything against the Twins, I just hoped to be drafted by a NL team.
He pitched a complete game shut out in his first start for the Rockcats and lost a no-no with 4 outs remaining in his 2nd start. Captain wasn't to happy about being pulled after 7.2 scoreless innings, but luckily the bullpen was able to close out the game making him 2-0 in as many starts.
I intended to ask for a trade, but I might stick it out for a while as the highest rated pitcher in the Twins organization is 80, so I would appear to have a quick path to the majors.
I'll keep you guys updated on Captain's SP progress as well as his other characters.Last edited by Kirkel13; 05-13-2014, 04:53 PM.Comment
