Going by all the wonderful feedback by the CD guys it really does sound like the Gameplay is going to be greatly improved in MLB 15 The Show

In a few more years we will not know the difference between video game baseball and real life

    Can't wait!

      Regarding Quick Counts:

I searched this thread and didn't find an answer to this question: Are pitch counts being tallied correctly when using Quick Counts this year?

Got tired of seeing pitches not being added up correctly/mis counted. If my leadoff hitter has a 1-1 count generated, he grounds out, then the next batter has a 3-2 count generated, how in the heck can it say the pitcher's pitch count is at 6? Missing 6-8 pitches per inning, final pitch counts for starters in the 140+ range were way too common.

I remember reading something about this last year and it was explained why the pitch count was off. But I can't remember exactly what the reasoning was.

This is actually by design for balancing the system. If you go to the in game tutorial it will fully explain how things are calculated.

It made the total pitch count more realistic at the end of the game i believe. Was definitely made to do that.

Huh, never realized that. I guess it worked out OK, because the pitchers tired at the "lower" pitch count rate. So if the in game count said 95 pitches through 7 innings, but in the post game it said 135, the pitcher definitely was only as tired as throwing 95. Oh, well. It was just an annoyance for me, but I can live with it. Thanks for pointing out the explanation.

A pitch is subtracted after each batter, and yes it was by design.

Think about it this way, there aren't any 0-0/ 0-1 / 1-0 / 1-1 counts generated in quick counts mode because it was developed to speed up the game.
In real life batters also hit the ball when presented those counts. Because of this balls thrown must be subtracted otherwise pitchers get unrealistic high counts going further in the game.

Pretty sure there are 1-1 counts.

Not sure if this has been addressed yet but, with the new dynamic pitch breaks supposedly making pitches easier to recognize, did you feel like you were walking more often, i.e. not chasing as much because you weren't getting fooled as often? Or did you feel like you were just taking more walks in general, for any reason? Or were you walking at about the same rate?

With the new sun/shadows moving across correctly, did you notice when hitting any difficulty, say if the pitcher was in the sun and batter was in the shadows? In real life, I know this can be harder for the batter to pick out the ball in that situation.

I did not get to experience this in game. We only saw pics of what it was going to be like with regards to shadows and sun.

Is it possible to enable the strike zone for pitching only?

I like cleaner look and minimum UI, but I also like broadcast pitching cameras and there are some with really bad angles where I have to see the strike zone before throwing pitches. I feel, that using broadcast pitching cameras give you some home field advantage by knowing the angle more than away ballparks.

For batting I always use the same view, so I don't need to see the strike zone.

                            Thanks for the answer!

There is no way to split it out for just hitting or pitching. The only thing I can recommend is to make sure rumble is on and use it to feel your way around the zone.
