Re: Official MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

I've always has too many at bats in the first season to be eligible for ROY. And my OPS is never at the top because I don't draw enough walks.

Made a first baseman and was drafted by the Rays. My ML debut was successful, with a HR coming on the first pitch in my first AB. I currently bat 6th, but I either want to bat 5th or 2nd. I have good speed (about 10-15 SB is my ceiling) and I have good power as well (30 HR/100 RBI a year is about right). I'm already in the second year as I spend a lot of time in the minors not using points until the second season so I'm a phenom when I finally get called up.

I'm well over that average and I'm not on the BA, OBP or SLG boards but I'm only in the beginning of July. However, I'm on the RBI, H, HR, 3B and SB boards.

I remember that with my SP I didn't get on the leaderboards until August or something like that.

RBI, H, HR, etc. are cumulative stats. That's why there is no PA requirement on those. BA, OBP, SLG, etc are all averages, and you need to qualify. If not, some rookie that got called up 1 day could go 1 for 1 and lead the MLB in average and OBP at the end of the year.

Same goes for pitchers. To qualify for ERA, you need at least 1 inning per team game (so 162 innings to finish #1 in ERA at the end of the year). But you don't need to qualify for K, BB, SV,etc.

Re: Official MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

Three straight at bats I got a hit with one out. Each time I was left on base with Chris Carter & George Springer striking out after they were ahead in the count 3-0 or 3-1. Altuve, Correa & I are all in the top 15 in the AL in batting average. But as a team we are ranked 27th. There are three guys regularly in the lineup struggling to hit .200. Every time I play RTTS with the Astros we struggle through the 2016 season. Then from 2017 are consistent playoff team.

On every rtts I start single a players( or guys who are hurt) seem to go missing. I was drafted as a pitcher by the Marlins and played about half the season before realizing hat Jose Fernandez was not on the team. He wasn't even on the roster. And he wasn't traded either. Same with Yu Darvish. So I went to the Cubs roster as I know what they're entire 90 man looks like amd noticed a couple fake players on it even though I was using the OSFM rosters. Does any one know why this is. Amy help would be appreciated. It's kinda ruining,y RTTS.

You sure you loaded the rosters when you started & are you sure they're actually OSFM rosters & not just some copy cat?

Yea I downloaded the OSFM ones and are the same ones I use when I do a franchise and the players that go missing are in the franchise. It seems that some of the highest rated players in single a are missing. Usually ones who are there because of injury

Jeffery Chapman was a promising high school pitcher when he committed to Arizona State. He did not disappoint the university as he helped anchor a rotation that appeared in four consecutive College World Series. In his final season he led ASU to the promised land and defeated heavy favorite, TCU, to claim the World Series. He was one of the most dominating pitchers at the collegiate level and was thought of highly in the scouting community for his current level of pitching. However, doubts about his height (5'10"), his age (22) and his high-floor, low-ceiling brought in questions about what he could bring to a team in the future.

The Red Sox ended up taking the NCAA prospect in the third round and immediately placed him in Double-A with the Portland Sea Dogs.

He appeared in just 10 games in Portland, but boy did he dominate. An 8-1 record with 8 quality starts is impressive enough, but Chapman also fanned 82 batters and walked just 7. He also posted a 1.63 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. Chapman was subsequently promoted to Triple-A after his 10 starts.

Triple-A was almost more incredible for Chapman as he started 13 games with 12 QS. He added to that with a 7-1 record, 1.80 ERA, and 0.89 WHIP. His strikeout numbers also dazzled as he recorded 111 K's while walking 18 batters. His contracted was then purchased by the Boston Red Sox on August 8th, 2015 to face the Detroit Tigers.

His limited appearances in MLB were a mixed bag. He started 9 games and posted a 2-1 record with a 4.86 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. His strikeout numbers dropped off significantly with just 38 while he walked 10 batters. He also gave up an alarming 7 HR in just 9 starts and only threw 3 QS.

Next season will be Chapman's official rookie season as he didn't throw enough innings to have one year of service. This means he will become a free agent when he is 29 in the 2022 season.

Anyone else have an issue of being traded on a yearly basis? I had just signed a 10 year deal with the Yankees and over the course of the 10 years of the contract I was traded at lease 6-7 times. Oddly enough i was traded 3 times to the Yankees and 3 times to the Rangers.

I kinda missed pitching but I don't have the time or patience to continue with my SP so I started a RTTS CP (LHP), based on Sergio Romo because I really like his style.

After a very good showcase I chose to play with the Cardinals. After a very brief stint in AA I got called up to AAA. I did really good there and in late July the Yankees purchased my contract and I got called up to The Show with 26 saves and an 0.69 ERA. I did OK but I think it was too soon to be called up.

During off-season I got a contract offer: a 1 year $530 000 MLB Bullpen deal. Spring training was OK with an 1.28 ERA. All earned runs were homers however and all hits were extra bases.

When the regular season started I mostly got to pitch when we were down by several runs and I just tried to stop the bleeding. So far there has been one solid outing where I actually got to do something productive. Top of the 9th, the score was 3-3 against the Orioles. I managed to pitch 4 innings without allowing a run even though I was fatigued in the 12th. In the 14th inning we finally scored and I was credited with the win and was the player of the game. Very cool!
