Looking for help from my fellow RTTS pitchers. I want to create a starting pitcher. Easy question maybe lol, what is a good slider set to use. I will be using classic pitching. I dont want to dominate and get called up quick, but I dont want to be a D potential and not neve make it up so to say.

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I created a 18yr old SP, got drafted in the freaking 6th round by the redsox, i love the sox so i decided what the heck this is a once in a lifetime chance so i decided screw college lets play ball.
Rough start in AA, something like 4.00 era over 10 starts, then something clicked...
Over my next 10 i went 1.29, 4 complete game shutouts.
Im playing on all star pitching btw. At this point i had 2k in stubs so i boosted my k/9 and h/9 up a bit. Got called up to AAA.
Destroyed AAA, 1.69 over maybe 10 starts and got promoted again!
Im rated well below 70. 64 I think, plus 3 with equipment boosts.
Major league debut July 17 2015.
The slaughter continued, seasons end I posted a 1.96 era had 3 or 4 shutouts, was put at the top of the rotation!!
We made the wildcard game, Sox decided not to go with me as ther pitcher for it instead sending porcello out, to lose 8-1.
But what a ride. I went from a 6th round dreamer to a top of the rotation ace all in one season. D potential still... Is that ever gonna change?
It was really cool, i thought i was going to be grinding minors for a few years.. guess not. Dreams do come true.
I go with a 4sm fb, sweeping curve, circle-change, and sinker that i bought wit my 2k stub boost.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
I've been burning through some Road to the Show lately. I had forgotten how fun this mode was. In MLB 16 I'm really hoping that they take some pages out of NBA 2K's My Career. I know the dialogue is often super-cheesy but I don't care. I'd love to have in-depth off-the-field interactions with fans, teammates, other players, agents, the media, etc. My two favorite genres in video games are role playing games and sports games. What NBA 2K does is basically the best of both worlds. It's essentially a sports role playing game. For years and years I had been asking for something like that and it seems that with each iteration of sports titles it's moving that way with Road to the Show, My Career, etc. There's truly endless possibilities.
I know the players unions in each sport and the league would never allow it but it would be so awesome to be able to get involved in off-the-field/court/ice "activities" like in Playmakers (ESPN TV show that essentially got banned after one season).Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Does the difficulty level dictate at all how your team plays overall? In other words if I'm on lower level difficulties is my team more likely to win games (not considering the fact that I'll typically perform better). I would assume this is not the case but want to hear what you guys say/think.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Let me preface this by saying that I am not exaggerating at all, whatsoever.
First I've played MLB The Show since 2008 and while I'm no expert I like to believe I'm a decent player. I've played and coached baseball so I know the game. I'm a patient hitter and try and work the counts to my favor.
That being said I created an 18 year old phenom (bought training points) and made my guy a 99 rated player in every statistical category. I've always hit on All-Star on The Show and in franchise mode I usually hit around .250 but consider this is with all sorts of players, some rating as low as 65. With players 85 or above I usually hover around .300.
Now in Road to the Show my player absolutely crushed the ball in Double-A. I hit something like 14 home runs, batted .368, tons of doubles, etc, in about 50 games. But since getting called up I cannot hit a lick. I've had a few home runs here and there but I'm batting .210 and I only have a couple doubles on balls that snuck by the corner infielders on the ground.
Everything I hit seems to be weak contact and I rarely put together solid games (I've had maybe one so far). If that's not bad enough I just played a game where I had a 2-0 count and was sitting on a pitch down the middle. I used power swing and had "Good" timing (I use directional hitting, at least at the time this time)... and swung and missed.
It's literally as if the game just doesn't want me to put up good numbers right now. I've had Road the the Show players before that tore the cover off the ball, on All-Star, that were similar to this player. I really don't get why I can't hit all of a sudden. I don't want to drop down to Veteran as I've never hit on that level and I have no idea why I would need to with a 99 rated hitter.
Has anyone had this happen with an 18-year old? I'm just wondering if something's coded in the game so that you don't just go off right from the get-go if you're only 18 years old. I really am at a loss on this one.
For example in your case: All Star
AA = Veteran AAA = All Star Majors = Hall of Fame (or whichever is one above All Star I am drawing
a blank right now)Last edited by Bullit; 07-27-2015, 07:43 PM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I have a couple how-to questions for anyone who might know. While baserunning how do you a) stop and hold and b) do a take-outslide at second?Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Press R2 to stop and hold while running.
A face first slide into second to the outside of the bag would mean pressing up and right on the right stick. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

So I'm a 99 (+4) SP for the Yankees. The Ace. Back to Back AL Cy Young and MVP winner. #1 in rotation. Yet I only get to play 1 game per playoff series. i just get skipped over for the other games while the 3-5 get to play multiple gamesFavorite Teams:

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Roy Hobbs
Won the American League Rookie of the Year.
.288/.325/.510, 23 doubles, 18 home runs, 57 RBIs and 19 stolen bases in 97 games (got called up June 7, 2015).
We (the Angels) got bounced in the ALDS by the Cleveland Indians in five games, losing game five at home after leading the series 2-1. Corey Kluber had our number. He won game 1 with a complete game shutout and game 5 surrendering just one run. Great first season. Follow me on my DN page if you're interested! Link in signature.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Does anyone know whether the level of difficulty has any influence over how your team performs overall? Right now in my second season we (the Angels) are currently riding a 10-game winning streak and last year we won the division. The team's pretty good so I like to attribute it to that but I'm just hoping that if I was on, say the Phillies, my team wouldn't be experiencing much success.Comment

It's now late September for SS Oil Can Falkenborg and the division title was in the bag a long time ago which means Oil Can gets more time off, something that is well needed since he did not miss a single game from his start in AA in April until mid-August in The Show.
Falkenborg is the front-runner for Rookie of the year, Batting title, Silver slugger SS and surprisingly: Gold glove SS. He does not have the numbers for the GG other than the fact that he hasn't committed an error yet and that is something he can thank first baseman Matt Adams for, who has scooped a lot of balls in the dirt from him.
Things are going really good for the whole team. Let's just hope that this carries over to the post season.Last edited by rollerpig79; 08-01-2015, 05:57 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
How do you do a takeout slide at second in Road to the Show? My player always just slides directly into the bag. Even when I let the computer do it automatically, nothing.Comment

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Right stick down to the right (4 oclock position) to foot slide to the back of the bag or down and left (7 oclock position) to foot slide in front of bag.Really wish sports games played to ratings!

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread
Every time I do this I do a headfirst slid as if I'm pushing up and to the right (2 o'clock position). The only foot-first slide I can even do is a basic, direct slide by pushing down (6 o'clock).Comment
