Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Wondering what a 1B like Chris Johnsonn or Chris Carter would cost if the Marlins and brewers are far out 2 months in. I am currently 1 month in and looking for upgrades at 1B/LF who can hit lefties good.
Also, what kind of backup catcher is realistically available around the same time frame. I have looked at Jordan Pachedo, Kurt Suzuki and Norris from SD. What would those likely cost?
Thanks

Kurt Suzuki might be dealt if the twins were out of it, but i think theyd probably want a decent (high C) prospect back, possibly two....maybe even a catcher, cause I cant think of any viable options they have to replace him. Honestly though I can't really picture him getting dealt though
Edit: They do have JR Murphy, who could at least fill in for the remainder of the season, so its not that unrealistic after all
Norris would probably cost you the most. Maybe one B or a couple C's depending on how he's playingLast edited by CBoller1331; 06-19-2016, 03:22 PM.Chicago Cubs

The Reds would practically give you Jordan Pacheco.

Thanks a lot. I will check and see how SD and MIN are doing at the deadline and re-visit when I see their stats. Pachedo may be someone I grab earlier if I get desperate!

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
In April of my Tigers franchise and I'm 13-6 (still 2 games out of first...wtf Twins of all teams) and just lost CF Anthony Gose for 2-3 months. My other CF, Cameron Maybin, is hitting .054 and I absolutely must find either at least a left-handed hitting platoon man, or a full time CF. Gose wasn't hitting too hot either and I would like to get a guy who can play CF for most of the year if need be. Does anyone know of any serviceable CFs who would be cheap to obtain? Assume that most bad teams IRL are bad in this franchise as well (except Twins). Also, because I'm so good with him, what prospects would it take to get Billy Burns from the As?Comment

Sign Reed Johnson as a free agent and a platoon partner?
Not realistic for Burns to be dealt in April (if at all in 2016) but you're probably looking at two high C's in returnFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
First of all, how are the Rays doing? If they're not dead and buried, this has no chance at all. Also it depends on his stats.
Secondly, I agree that trading Longo would be odd--I don't think they could get enough value to make it worthwhile given his long term deal actually being a good value for his production. Why alienate the remaining 750 fans of their franchise?
As for the package itself, I don't see a need for Carlos Gomez in the deal for 2 big reasons. One is Kevin Kiermaier who is cheaper and better. Two, Gomez has little value to a seller due to his expiring team control. Why rent a guy like Gomez if you're already selling off assets? I realize you probably have to do it to make the trade go through in the game, but the Rays have no need for him.
The Rays would have interest in both Singleton and Reed as well as Colin Moran. I'd think Moran would be a requirement for them to deal their incumbent 3B.
They would want more control-able guys, you're right. I'd give up Moran certainly. The Rays are 28-41, last in the AL at this point. They are seeking a 1B and SS in the trading block part. They have deep pitching. I could bump up Moran's potential which is currently a C. Maybe I don't see it happening though.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for some trade advice. I use my favorite team in my franchise the Mets. I am in season 1 and the cubs put Javier Baez on the block. I like all trades to be fair to keep the competetive balance of the league. So i am asking cause I can at times i have to try and make a move that gives away players i love but fair is fair. What would be a good and fair price to pay for Baez?
Thanks for your advice in advanceThe Show- New York Mets

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Through June. I'm thinking Alex Wood (3yrs control, ~3.65 xFIP) + Carl Crawford (20*2, 0.7 WAR in 100 PA, salary dump) + Frankie Montas (~15m in value?) for Adrian Beltre (3*18, replacement level this year).
3 free years of old Beltre = 3 arb years of Alex Wood + 6 years on Montas?Last edited by AC; 06-20-2016, 04:21 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Hamels and Yu are the only major league starters they have right now. All of Griffin, Holland, Perez, etc have been awful."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

The rotation has been that bad huh?
Well assuming Gallo is ready for the big spot, I'd say you're clear for this deal. Dodgers get rid of Crawford, have a reliable 3B (plus the return of Beltre) then the Rangers nab two solid arms.Come hang with me on YouTube! You aren't even close there. Baez isn't moving unless they get a TOR arm like a #2 starterComment
