    He's hitting .288/335/.458 with 7 HR, 20 RBI, and 2 SB overall.

    Headley = 0.60 WAR

    Castellanos = -0.97 WAR
    Plouffe = -0.01 WAR
    Cron = -1.67 WAR
    Escobar = 1.04 WAR (I didn't look at his WAR originally, but was surprised to see this. Feel like he was doing much worse than this when I last checked.)
    Zimmerman = 0.04 WAR

    Obviously, like I said before, there are other factors to take into account. You're right about Castellanos, he's young and capable of turning it around. Sano could move back to third, he's putting up MVP type numbers. Cron is young and super cheap. Escobar has been bette than Headley as it turns out, but could easily slide to second and bump Giavotella out of the lineup, who is at -0.20 WAR. Zimmerman has a big contract and was the face of the franchise.

    Honestly, just looking to dump Headley and get fair value for him.

    They're a half game out of the wild card, so they're not completely out of it. I meant they're bad across their options that Headley could replace, but as I noted above, it turns out Escobar is actually having a better year than Headley by WAR. He would still be a major improvement over Cron, and Headley at 3B could slide Escobar over to second and bump out Giavotella from the lineup.

    Like I said, just looking for potential matches and what fair value is.
    In a realistic Headley trade the Yankees are eating that contract. Less money you eat the worse player you get. And there's no scenario where a top 100 guy is traded for him. You're looking at a lotto ticket

        To sell or not to sell?

        I'm currently 44-44 in my Braves franchise. I'm in my last game before the All-Star break. I could really use some more power in my lineup. I really need someone to platoon at 3B with Adonis Garcia. He can't hit right handed guys for crap. I could also use some power from the RF position. I would willing to get a full time guy out there. I'm currently platooning Peterson and Beckham at 2B which hasn't been too bad.

        I'm getting no power from my OF though. I have speed with Mallex in CF and Inciarte in LF. My only power is coming from Freeman with 16 HR's and Flowers at C with 15 HR's. I believe Garcia may have about 6.

        Pieces I can move include...

        Nick Markakis... Basically a base hit guy offering now power. Need RF to produce power.

        Justin Smoak... Got Smoak in a trade with the Blue Jays. Also have Pompey. I got Smoak because I thought he would bring some power but his lack of defense makes it hard for me to get him into a NL lineup.

        Jason Grilli... I literally have Shae Simmons sitting in AAA who could easily take over for Grilli.

        Bud Norris... Norris has been lights out for me so if I can't get enough value for him I would probably hold onto him.

        Tons of pitching prospects. I could also use Ozzie Albies as trade bait.

        Offer up some players and directions I should go! Thanks.

          Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

          I'm at the beginning of June with the Marlins, and trying to be a bit proactive in finding trade targets, as it looks like I'm going to be in a really close fight for a wild card spot.

          I need a solid 2/3 starter and an infield bat, and I was looking at getting one of Drew Smyly, Drew Pomeranz or Raisel Iglesias as well as Danny Valencia.

          Smyly is 8-1 with a 2.74 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 2.01 WAR and 2.91 FIP in 75.2 IP.
          Pomeranz is 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 1.48 WAR and 3.28 FIP in 69.0 IP.
          Iglesias is 3-3 with a 2.17 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 2.31 WAR and 2.41 FIP in 74.2 IP.

          Valencia is hitting .305/.344/.534 with a 1.40 WAR.

          I was wondering if something like Stone Garrett + Brett Lilek is around fair value for one of the pitchers, and if Dillon Peters would be fair for Valencia.

            You can't get Valencia for a guy who isn't even a top 30 prospect in the 2nd worst farm system in baseball. You will have to give up an actual prospect. Someone with potential to actually make it to the majors.

            As for the pitchers, again your farm is bad. And those pitchers all seem to be performing well. Either Kolek or Naylor is going to have to be there along with Stone Garrett. Young cost controlled arms aren't cheap and those 3 are all performing well.

              Input on a trade I want to do with my Braves. Fair or unfair?

              Red Sox get Arodys Vizcaino and Hector Olivera
              Braves get Andrew Benintendi and Brian Johnson

                You are unbelievably far away from fair. Benintendi is a future superstar and isn't moving for a reliever. Plus Olivera has a TON of negative value.

                Vizcaino has a lot of value but you aren't getting a guy who is a top 20 prospect in all of baseball

                  True on Olivera, him and Johnson were just throw ins but I don't think I would categorize it as "unbelievably far away from fair." U did see what the Phillies got for Ken Giles right? I'm not saying its a fair deal, but its not that lopsided.

                    Yea but you're trying to trade away pieces you don't really care about for a guy with huge potential/upside.

                    Would you do that trade if you were Boston?

                      Last I checked, Giles had more team control, hasn't had Tommy John and has never been suspended for PEDs. The Phillies got Velasquez a 60FV guy who most agree will end up as a bullpen piece, Oberholtzer who is just a guy, Eshelman who has a 45FV and Appel who has a 50FV.

                      None of those were top 20 prospects. There's literally no way the Red Sox trade Benintendi for a reliever. It's as unrealistic as Schwarber being dealt for a reliever.

                          Braves don't have the pieces. Benintendi is only moving for an Ace, and I like Teheran but he is absolutely not an ace.

                            No, Olivera is not a "throw-in" he is a negative to the trade, he's actually subtracting value from Vizcaino. In the game, his value is horrible based on his contract and overall rating, subtracting the real life domestic violence issue.

                            It would take Olivera and probably a B prospect from the Braves to garner a D prospect from another team just to get them to take him.

                            If you want to be realistic, wait till August 1st and release him because that's probably what the Braves will do. The Giles trade like the Shelby Miller trade is an overpay.

                            Vizcaino packaged with Markakis (if the Red Sox need a suitable LF) could maybe get you a Blake Swihart or Chavis, somewhere in that range I would say, definitely not Benittedi or Moncada.

                              I would think Ozzie plus a 1-2 quality pitching prospects could get you a good hitting RF like Calhoun or trade even less and get an all-hit no field guy like Schwarber or Dickerson and slide one of your other OF to RF.

                              Whether those teams would deal depends on their record, so consider whether its realistic in your league given time of year and whether they are in win now mode or not.
