It will be interesting to see how they grow together over the next 2-3 seasons.

Health is my primary concern this season. Already losing Lindor for at least a month and now Buxton for the season has me a tad nervous. I am platooning Bird (RHP) and White (LHP) so hopefully that will keep Bird healthy. White is off to a torrid start vs lefties too!!! Bird has hit a few bombs as well.

But the core is there for titles to roll in if everything falls into place with the pitching and health. I am predicting a year one World Series appearance at the very least!!!!

    Nice!

I'd like to say the same about my Red Sox, but I'm not so optimistic. The rotation is solid in the top 3 but having Urias and Reyes (and youngsters behind them if anyone gets hurt) makes me take pause. I've already see what it can be like when Sale is the only one doing anything (the 1-4 start).

Love the bullpen. Offense...right now, and yes it's still early, it's driven by 2 people, Sano and Carter. That won't last and is not good enough. Schwarber needs to pick it up, Buxton is stone cold and might be consistently inconsistent...as might everyone else not named Sano.

I think the "error bars" are very long with this team in terms of trying to project. I might say 90 wins, with a range of 75 to maybe over 100 if everything clicks. Just very hard to say which way it will lean...

          LET THE GAMES BEGIN

The draft is done, lineups are set. Did well on the draft, so Tyler White will begin the season at AAA due to the Major League Depth. Got some key guys (in my opinion at least) that I was able to stash on the farm. White, Goins, Withrow, Jarrod Parker & Tyler Chatwood, as well as Andy Burns. I feel pretty confident that this team can survive an injury or two.

            GAME 1 RECAP

Noah Syndergaard pitched 8 innings of 6 hit ball, allowing 3 runs and striking out 9, earning the victory. A George Springer solo shot and Nick Williams 2r hr accounted for all of the Yankees runs. Mike Dunn came on in the ninth, and allowed a hit to Chris Davis, than striking out Kyle Schwarber. Giles got the call and retired the next 2 hitters on 3 pitches for the save. Errors proved to be the deciding factor in the game. A first inning throwing error by Austin Jackson proved fruitless for the Yankees. In the 7th, with two outs, Yankees second baseman Jonathan Schoop threw a ball over 1B Chris Davis head, allowing Carlos Correa to reach 1st. A walk by Todd Frazier put runners on 1-2 with two outs. With a righty on the mound, Greg Bird pinch hit for Kelly Johnson (1-2 2rbi, bb), and hit what would prove to be the game winning single, scoring Correa from 2nd. The Astros tallied 6sb and 4bb during a game in which they should have scored more.

Did you guys play with Budgets ON or OFF?

I chose OFF (with single team control) Because I did not know how the AI would recognize the draft and the expansion of each team's budget because of it.

Also this will allow teams to sign their guys as well as go out and get what they need during the offseason.

IMO opinion, and I use this for a my Realism Franchise as well (whenever that may be) is that while there is a "budget" for each team in real life, a owner or whatnot will most always fork out the money at the very end if need be.
              Depending on the owner,
ex) as a result of the Royals Owner David Glass expanded the Budget for the very first time ever after the Royals made the World Series in 2014.

With that in mind, I try to stay within the Budget as close as I can, but I won't mind if I go a Million or Two over that because I think my Owner will be very supportive of my decisions

I'm playing with them on, and one team control. For no other reason than being a creature of habit.

Well the pitching didn't show up for this game at all on either side.

The Red Sox sent 11 men to the plate in the first inning, including a stretch of 4 consecutive walks. They chased Holland in the 3rd after 7 runs allowed and a 7-2 lead.

Finnegan was almost as bad. His BABIP allowed for the game was a totally ridiculous .545. The Sox hoped to get him through 6 so he could get an ugly quality start, but when he coughed up the 4th run, Farrell saw more than enough and went and got his starter. He didn't even let the pitching coach talk to him.

Bundy came in with the plan of going the rest of the way as he's like an extra starter. However, he pulled up after a pitch, complaining of back pain.

That put Tazawa into the game. He was able to get through it, toughing it out for 2 2/3 innings of work to finish of this mess of a game. In all, the Red Sox allowed 15 hits despite getting 10 strikeouts. Just a mess.

Red Sox do win easily, at least according to the scoreboard, by an 11-4 count.

On the plus side, Sano hit his 3rd HR in the series and 5th on the early season. Schwarber had another HR, sending one 406 feet to his opposite field and high over the Monster. Wong picked up his first HR. He also stole 2 bases.

Notes: Schwarber has been playing catcher vs LHP to get both his and Trumbo's bat in the lineup against southpaws...time will tell how long it lasts as Schwarber allowed a passed ball...Ichiro went 0-for-5 to drop his average to .200...Sano went 1-for-5 but still leads the team in BA at .367...

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

I hate to do this but I cannot help feeling that I need to re-draft and change up my settings that are not able to be changed as of this moment.

Sadly my Padres franchise will not go on as planned but I will be doing a Draft tonight, and this one will be FINAL. I see the one I was doing with the Padres as something of a test run. Now I know what to look for in the Draft, as I had not done one before.

                      --THE DRAFT--

Commissioner Manfred has called for a complete organizational re-draft of all 30 MLB Teams to increase popularity in the sport. Many fans are outraged, as well as the players who are forced to potentially change teams. Players and owners alike are astounded at the Change, several teams like the Cubs and Braves, who have loaded up for potential World Series Winning years are outraged.

The MLB however has reached a deal with the MLBPA, and Ownership to keep all salaries in their current state as well as promised increased Television profit sharing with the Player's Organization. All Major Leaguers who have reached the Arbitration Levels of their Service Time will receive $10 million dollars to walk away from their current teams. All players in the Free Agency Stage of their service time will receive $15 million dollars to walk away. This money will be paid by the Major League Baseball Organization, as well as Television Network Owners and Business Owners that have a stake in the Sports Entertainment market.

"This changes the Game, enormously." cited Mark Cuban, Owner of the Dallas Mavericks, and

Donors are pouring in millions as well as buying stake in teams to cover a change in payroll. The MLB Predicts a major rise in the budget of all Major League Baseball teams over the next 10 years, with an assisted budget program involving major businesses including Apple, Exxon, and several of the Major Television Networks working to pay the added Budget of all Major League teams. Different sets of companies will pay for different regions, allowing local companies to pay for stake in their team. ESPN's Buster Olney reports that this is the beginning of Advertisements and Corporations taking over the Sport's realm. "In the world that we live in, this is not entirely unexpected. It is shocking to see it happen in baseball first, however." Many would agree with Olney, most saying that they would believe the NFL would have done it first.

General Managers will get the chance of a lifetime to essentially start from scratch and build contending teams, regardless of the markets. "The Markets will essentially evolve as well, with teams becoming "Company" teams."-stated Fox Sports Reporter Ken Rosenthal.

Major League Baseball has been innovative throughout it's history but also uniquely stagnant. There have been rumors about one of the major leagues including a Re-Draft, however no commissioner and board of directors have ever elected on it till now.

On January 14th-15th, 2016, the 30 Major League Baseball Teams will participate in the Organizational Re-Draft.

The Draft will be broadcasted on ESPN at 7:00PM for rounds 1-46 on the 14th, and on ESPN at 3:00PM on the 15th for rounds 47-90.

The Draft will be one of most highly anticipated sporting events on television of all time, experts are predicting over 600-700 million potential viewers.

"I believe this will be a huge success for the league and it's future." stated Commissioner Manfred. "Everyday we are looking to evolve this game with the evolving world of advertising and marketing; this is arguably the biggest moment in the History of Major League Baseball." "We are changing the Landscape of the League."

I loved hearing them in MLB13 - it was a bit eerie while at the same time got me psyched up.

I've made up my mind, I'll be taking the Tampa Bay Rays.

We will also be looking at playing in a new stadium 2-3 years down the road.

These Red Sox are just finding ways to win.

This time, Urias struggled most of the game and while he went 6 innings, he gave up 5 runs in the process.

The bullpen again kept giving the Red Sox chances, but the bats kept wasting their chances. They kept stranding runners in the middle innings, letting Andrew Heaney off the hook time and again. It was looking like a horrible game.

The Sox chased Heaney after loading the bases for the second inning in a row in the 8th, aided by Guyer, the Rays' left fielder, dropping a routine fly ball. Siegrist came in to relieve. The error would buy the Sox an extra chance as Buxton struck out for what should have been the third out and another wasted chance. Instead, Ichiro would step up again.

Ichiro, who was working on a 4-for-4 game, smoked another hit to make it 5-for-5 to take advantage. That made it 5-2 as Butterfield held the runner at third with 2 outs and Chris Carter coming up.

Seigrist threw a fastball high, perhaps a touch out of the zone, away. Carter extended his arms out over the plate and yanked a high drive towards the Monster. The sky high fly ball hung in the air for seemed like forever, but it dropped over the Monster for a go-ahead grand slam. Carter had just erased a whole game of offensive regret and futility with one giant swing of the bat.

With the unexpected sudden change, Familia didn't have time to get ready. Chapman and Bundy were already warming, so Farrell went with Chapman, sat Bundy, and got Familia going, just in case. Chapman, though, let up nothing, though he might have tempted fate against Rizzo, the final chance for the Rays as Rizzo hit a towering fly on the middle of the diamond. He may have just missed doing some damage. However, Champan was overpowering enough to make it work and the Red Sox extend their win streak to 9 games.

Carter, obviously, had the big at-bat, but Ichiro was trying to spark the team all game long. He kept getting hits, he stole two bases, including his 500th career bag, made the plays in the field. It just seemed like his spirited play kept the team from hanging their heads and keep trying.

The Red Sox move up to 10-4 on the season, continue to claw and find ways to win right now.
