Padres Sweep Dodgers to start season

Padres offense was jump started by Maikel Franco and Jurickson Profar each hitting 2 homeruns in the series and Franco driving in 4 and Profar driving in 6. Greg Bird, George Springer and Addison Russell each added a homerun of their own. Mallex Smith stole 4 bases. While Jarrod Dyson went 2 for 2 in pinch hitting with a stolen base.

Pitching was the real key to the 3 wins. Synergaard and Velasquez both went 8 shutout innings. Velasquez struck out 13. Aaron Nola pitched 7 innings giving up 1 run. The only hiccup in the bullpen was a meaning less home run from Crgo given up by Siegrist in a 7-2 win in the 3rd game.

Thinking of doing a 2nd fantasy draft franchise. (Obviously keeping my Reds) My idea is to basically draft the worst team I can, (maybe 2 expiring vets no higher rated than 80) and grind it out trying to build something from nothing.

If I do it, it's gonna be an AL team (Indians, Royals or O's) and no players in my current franchise will be drafted into this one.

      Any input?

A team of mediocre old vets and mediocre (or worse) prospects?

        Are you a masochist? :P

Haha this should be interesting. Debating getting 1 legit 90 rated player. Or two 80's

Get two 80's - one reliever and one hitter. That way you still have a trashy rotation.

Then for bonus, pitch that one reliever until his arm falls off...then glue it back on and keep pitching him

The Orioles have picked RF Nick Markakis(80), CP Fernando Rodney(80) and 2B Omar Infante(72) in the first three rounds.

              This will be interesting....

The team is as weak as I felt comfortable drafting it! Thankfully if someone goes down with an injury, the roster is so bad that we can just plug in the same level of play from the minors. Here's a look at our "prospects".

                Prospects
                SP Braden Shipley (R) 66 ovr / B pot
                SP Kohl Stewart (R) 65 ovr / B pot
                SP Jacob Turner (R) 65 ovr / B pot
                RP Chasen Shreve (L) 69 ovr / C pot
                CP Ray Black (R) 64 ovr / C pot
                2B Matt Reynolds (R) 67 ovr / B pot
                2B Colin Walsh (S) 68 ovr / B pot *MLB
                3B Matt Chapman (R) 64 ovr / B pot
                CF Bubba Starling (R) 67 ovr / B pot
                RF Braxton Davidson (L) 55 ovr / B pot

                * this franchise will surely test my patience / GM skills; Prior to playing any games, I looked in the standings and saw not only are we ranked 30th in the league, but we had almost no skill showing in the circle around the ranking!*

                  Good luck!

I always wonder what that team graph is showing. My team is rated with next to nothing in the pitching wedge and one other that made me go "What? I have Sano, Gallo, Schwarber and it's showing that little?" - I guess it was power. It was one that made no sense to me.

Though, for this squad, it might be accurate.

Somehow assembled a squad worse than the real life braves.

I'm just hoping to NOT get fired before my contact runs out. I know the Red Sox will not be fun to play against. Strasburg/Correa was a much better 1-2 pick than Markakis/Rodney lol

After much deliberation, I have decided to retire the Reds franchise....

I am going to use the OS Mid-Season Rosters, and draft an Orioles team. Look for some familiar faces (looking to snag Pollock & Fulmer)

After the draft, there will be a full recap - player analysis for the Major League roster, as well as top 10-15 prospects & key minor league vets.

I won't retire my Red Sox franchise (Oz-Rod and Gallo are enough to make me want to keep it going lol) but I might re-draft my Rockies one using the same OSFM2 roster.

So torn...keep my Reds franchise or not? Not going to draft until I decide because if I keep it, I will not be drafting any duplicate players/prospects from my Reds.

Thinking of a attempting to build a team around Donaldson/Wallace/Duvall. With a semi-veteran rotation / ancient closer and low rated pen. Stock up on some good prospects...maybe even start a mid 60's A potential position player. I'm contemplating trying to get a Dansby Swanson / Austin Meadows combo to bring the youth.

Rockies draft is in progress. Orienting around defense, gap power and decent speed. Hopefully to exploit (and mitigate) an often overlooked aspect of Coors - it's freaking big if the ball stays in the park.

Pitching-wise, looking for guys with as much hard downward break as possible.

Gallo will probably be the only power bat in the lineup, at least from the start (who knows how guys will develop after all).

Also tried to take some names I haven't played with. There's a few familiar faces (Gallo, Mallex Smith, Buxton, Chapman, Maeda) but a lot of players I don't know in this game.
