I would actually go as far to say that there should be a separate slot just for this. There are a TON of players who have white wristbands or batting gloves at home and then wear the exact same style with gray instead on the road.

Been trying to get them to add home/road options for equipment in the editor for a few years now. Hopefully this year they got it in. Lorne did say it has been on his list for a while now.

Thanks for moving my Marlins throwbacks post in here, I misinterpreted the meaning of the word current in this threads title. I just wanted to add one pretty significant thing that I missed out on and noticed when proofreading my earlier post...

On both Marlins Road throwback jerseys, the name and the numbers on both front and back have the wrong outlines. As seen below they should be black with one teal outline. The first pic is a 1993 Dave Magadan jersey, the second is Alou and Sheffield in the 97 world series.


What The Show has for those jerseys is the same lettering and numbering as the home jerseys which is black with a silver and then teal outline. The silver outline was never on the road throwback jerseys. Below is a home 1997 jersey pic and this is what the show incorrectly has in the game for the road throwbacks.


The above picture also illustrates the fact that the home jerseys also did not have the silver outline on the name lettering, only on the numbers. So the Marlins Home Throwback uniforms player name lettering is incorrectly outlined. Remove the silver and the letters should be black with a teal outline.

I'm sure this was brought up in 16 thread but Mets 86 alt throwback....the "racing stripes" are too thin in-game. Also, Terry Collins or whoever the manger is is still wearing the black button up jacket when they've switched to the all blue jacket a couple of years ago.

The numbers on Detroit's jerseys seem way too thin (I think you can see a pattern in my posts about proportions of uniform elements!)

Padres were in from the beginning of the year - not a patch.

The Rockies only had the matte helmets patched in to their home and home alt uniform. The Road and Road Alt did not have the helmets patched but they should have been. The Rockies wear the matte helmets at home and on the road.

Is it going to be possible for the Rockies helmets to be updated to the black color they actually use? The purple helmets are not used in real life.

Those sleeves are black in the style guide therefore they will be black in MLB The Show 17.

Will the helmets be black again as well? I'm hoping so because the purple helmets make it look pretty bad. I understand the Style Guide is law which makes it difficult on you guys. I just wasn't sure if the helmets were purple in the style guide or not.

Also I had an idea to possibly fix some of the uniform issues people are having. I may be way off base with this and if so go ahead and tell me I'm an idiot and move on haha. But what if during the uniform selection process before you start the game, you added the ability to select the different undershirts & socks combo and the batting helmet along with the current options you already have: hat, jerseys, and pants. This way people could still mix and match as they please (like they can in the game now) but this way they can still alter the sock & undershirt combos like the TEX Rangers white home jerseys with red socks, hats, and undershirts (same issue with the CLE Indians wearing red undershirts and socks at home sometimes). This would allow a bit of a work around for people who want to use those other styles. It would literally just be adding another selection to the process to go along with the options already in the game. (hat, jersey, pants)

Maybe it wouldn't work because of memory and other things that I am not aware of, but it may allow you to meet some of the uniform desires of the fans, while still honoring the MLB style guide.

I appreciate what you do for all of us baseball fans and I love the game! Keep up the good work, MLB The Show is my favorite game by far and I look forward to it every spring.

Ramone addressed this earlier in regards to the Indians. Undershirts are part of the style guide. They can't be changed.

For example, based on what I read, because socks (as of 2017) are no longer a part of the style guide, they're hoping (or so I thought) to try to get the Indians socks to the correct red socks (they're currently navy in the Show).

Someone addressed the fact the Indians have incorrect navy undershirts instead of red shirts (like they do in real life), and Ramone said they couldn't be changed, because undershirts are a part of the style guide, meaning the Jersey itself they have to correctly follow in the style guide.

Yeah I remember reading it, I was just wondering if this could be a work-around of some sort. The uniform would still be in the game with the correct style guide information, but this would just allow us to mix and match different parts of the uniform. Even in last year's game you could pair the road socks with the alternate home hat and home jersey, so this would just be adding another option for undershirt and/or batting helmet.

Just an idea, maybe it isn't possible though I don't know

I find it interesting that they are forced to follow the style guide but when playing the mixing and matching of uniform parts means we aren't forced to follow the guide to the letter. So apparently the style guide has some leniency in some aspects yet not in others. Not sure what that means but I'm just thinking out loud here.

No need for anyone to even answer this but I wonder if the devs and artists hate the style guide. Like, I'm sure they sit there programming in things that are obviously "wrong" based on reality and they can do nothing but continue to program those things "wrong." I imagine them banging their heads against their desks in regards to the style guide and it's errors.
