I find it interesting that they are forced to follow the style guide but when playing the mixing and matching of uniform parts means we aren't forced to follow the guide to the letter. So apparently the style guide has some leniency in some aspects yet not in others. Not sure what that means but I'm just thinking out loud here.

Yeah I know. I'd be interested to hear what Ramone or the other Devs have to say about this possibility. It may not work, but it may be a way to get around the style guide. Mix and matching seems to be fine now, so I would assume it would be okay with the other options being added to the list of pre-game selections.

I'd be intrigued to see what they have to say. I'm assuming there is a reason they cannot do this, but just curious. They do such a good job on realistic details in the game, the uniform color errors and other small issues are truly the only thing that seems off about the game in years past. Obviously it isn't their fault as we already know it is due to the MLB style guide, but if this was fixed this game would have no glaring weaknesses in my opinion. At least not on the aesthetics and details.

This has been an issue for years now, but the numbers on the Cubs home throwbacks should be blue, not red.

Accessory colours associated with all of the Blue Jays throwback jerseys are currently all black instead of blue.

This reminds me, socks and undershirts of all Rays/Devil Rays throwbacks are somehow green instead of black.

Quite head scratching considering the throwback uniforms are from 1998 and 1999 yet the team didn't wear green socks and undershirts until 2001.

So basically, due to the style guide, every team in the league is going to have coloration issues/incorrect jerseys forever and there's nothing we can do? Cause there are so many teams with wrong shades of their colors and washed out jerseys. I mean every red in the game is washed out. The Tigers primary color for their home jersey is black instead of navy blue. Pirates yellow is muddy. Blue Jays, Royals, Padres, and any other blue jersey are too bright. There are basically no jerseys in the game that look exact to their real life counterpart, and I guess that's something that can't be fixed?

Yes and no. The style guide limits many things but brightness and coloration of jerseys isn't or at least shouldn't be one of them. I could be wrong but I feel like those issues are just human errors that haven't been corrected. Like why is the Pirates black jersey gray when other teams such as the Marlins and White Sox have perfectly colored black jerseys? You'd think whatever programming was used for the colors of the Marlins and White Sox black jerseys would just be used for the Pirates jersey as well but I guess I'm wrong. I think the style guide is a serious issue but it's not the only issue and some people (not the devs, fans) incorrectly revert to it as an excuse.

Things like piping and logo placement and wrong helmets and undershirts and socks and things like that are style guide issues but lighting and coloration are not.

Well I hope some of these things can be corrected then. It is definitely odd that the Pirates black is washed out while the others are as they should be.

Believe it or not, there are different shades of black. I believe that some just do not transmit well onto the screen. That in combination with lighting and possible human error, you get washed out pirate jerseys.

Of course there are different shades of black. But the Pirates black jersey is not a different shade as the Marlins Rockies or White Sox black jerseys. If those teams can have the correct black in the game so can the Pirates.

Yes, you're right. Definitely different shades. But these all look the same to me.

I wasn't trying to be a smart ***. I just meant that with some Pantone colors they may not be exactly. To me, black is black.

I'm interested to see what the new "uniform sets"" item is. I doubt it's just announcing the new alts that they added to the game. It could mean more uniform slots and/or more mixing/matching items (helmets, undershirts, etc.).

I know last year Ramone told me that they were fixing the helmet/hat issue so that they would be paired together instead of the helmets/jerseys being paired like they have been in the past.

The White Sox Sunday Alternates should have red accessories as well as cleats when you set player equipment to team color 1 in the editor. Team color 1 is already black (with standard home/away uniforms) and the colors stay black when they wear the alternate when it should switch to red. (Some players still wear black accessories with this uni, the red just needs to be reflected when it's set for team color 1 and these unis are worn).








This has been an issue with The Show since they added the White Sox Sunday Alternates a few years back. Last year they fixed the batting helmets so hopefully 17 fixes the accessories.
