First update on my Orioles franchise, and I'll preface it by apologizing in advance for missing or incorrect names, I don't currently have access to my Ps4 and I'm not using OSFM rosters

For me the fun of baseball franchise mode leans more heavily on personnel and roster management as opposed to a game like Madden where it is the games played. So I slowly simmed to the draft and took stock of my team and uye, we had problems.
First the good. The "random draw" on prospects that you seem to get with default rosters was very nice to me. In truth I probably should have redid it using real rosters, but the die is cast.
Second the bad. And it could be very bad. Out of the entire Orioles roster, I think only three or four guys are under contract for 2018. Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo, Darren O'Day, and I think someone else. Maybe that could be good news, but one of my FA will be Manny Machado. I did not think I would have the money to sign him and improve the team. My goal is of course to improve year to year, and I did not think that was likely with what I was looking at. So I made the decision to shake things up, but in hopefully a sim way. All aboard the trade machine!
Before trading I wanted to finish the draft.
Key prospects prior to the draft (these guys are fake, edited marked with *):
CF/ss/2b Winston Buckley 71 ovr, A pot 22 yrs old. Good news he was a top 20 prospect. Bad news is he was a generated base stealing leadoff type hitter who was 5'8", fat, and had a lumberjack beard. Changed his appearance befitting his attributes. Probably gonna change his name.
C Mariano Mendoza 59 ovr, A pot, 19 yrs old. Don't know what to make of him just yet, he is a top 50 prospect, but his attributes don't really tell me what kind of MLB player he will develop into. Keeping an eye on him, but wouldn't be surprised if he ends up traded.
3B/RF Sean Davis* 62 ovr, A pot 20 yr old. Dude was top 5 prospect without me touching him. I remembered a beast player I developed way back in MLB 12 or something that had a similar makeup at the start so I decided to recreate him. Changed name, appearance, and archetype. He was an odd speed demon guy, now he is a power hitter using Griffey's stance. Actually lowered some of his attributes to keep things fair. Probably two year ETA to the bigs.
Finally two B potential second baseman whose names I cannot recall. One is 20 years old, 69 or 68 overall and already the best contact guy at 2b (low to mid 70s contact, 50 to 60ish vision and disc), but can not field anything (30-40s). The other is 22 at 73 ovr. He looks to be a compromise between youngest guy and Schoop. In the middle of those two on virtually everything.
I drafted the following players:
SP Jason Smith* 61 overall, 94 potential, 20 yrs old. Throws a 4 seamer around 94 mph, a slider, curveball, circle change, and a splitter. Fingers crossed he develops into an Ace, as Orioles haven't had the best luck with pitching prospects.
1B Jared something with a V. Dude comes in at 73 overall with 85 potential. Could get called up middle to late next year to DH. Good hitter right now, fielding will take some time.
CP whose name I cannot remember. 65 overall, also 85 potential. I already had two CPs with B potential, though they are unlikely to reach it (one is already 24 and the other is like a 47 ovr).
Rest of my draft was junk.
(note: TB drafted a 19 year old pitcher with 99 potential who is a 68 overall. Another guy to watch got drafted by the Reds, 20 years old CF 65 ovr 99 potential)
The draft gave me a good idea of my future, so time to trade.
I traded Zach Britton, Pedro Alvarez, and err...I think someone else for a 23 year old A potential SP with an overall of 73. I had to google his name cause I forgot, but its Tyler Galsnow. He enters the rotation now, replacing the dreadful Jimenez (ERA above 5.3).
Second trade was Chris Davis, JJ Hardy, and my youngest 2b prospect (the hitter) for two A potential LFers. LF is my weakest position, both now and future outlook. One of those prospects looks to be MLB ready next year, the other may take longer. Don't know if they are real or fake players.
Lineup is now:
SS Winston Buckley
DH Hyun-soo Kim
3B Manny Machado
RF Mark Trumbo
CF Adam Jones
C Wellington Castillo
2B Jonathan Schoop
1b Trey Mancini
LF Michael Bourne
Rotation:
Dylan Bundy
Kevin Gausman (somehow has a record of 8-2)
Chris Tillman (fun fact: getting rid of him just because I hate his slow delivery)
Tyler Glasnow
Wade Miley
Current plans for the offseason include selling my firstborn in order to resign Machado and hopefully being able to go after Yu Darvish. If I can make a run after Jose Altuve I'm doing it.
I still got trade assets so I may not be done. Currently the number of guys 25 or younger with at least B potential who can reasonably be expected to develop into quality players (current MLB included):
SP: 4 (all As, low 70s at least overall)
RP: 0
CP: 1 (maybe 2?)
C: 1
1b: 2
2b: 2
3b: 2
SS: 1
LF: 2
CF: 0
RF: 0
Outfield looks thinner, but that SS is actually a CF, I just prefer him at SS. Also the 3b has a RF secondary so I'm good)
