Since there's so much TV talk here I wanted to advise that anyone who is looking to upgrade their TV make sure you spend the bit extra and get an OLED. It's ridiculous how much better they are than the LEDs. It funny seeing seeing all this talk about fine tuning the settings and the HDR intensity sliders and stuff and everyone has an LED. I PROMISE you the game would look better on a standard PS4 and an OLED than with a Pro and HDR/4K on an LED. Either get a pro and an OLED or stick with a regular PS4 and cheap 1080 set. The middle ground isn't too hot.

I have an OLED and it actually isn't so easy. Had to turn on the true color setting to even be able to get HDR.

Like ODogg said, I too feel sorry for anyone having troubles with HDR. It really is a game changer. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I read people can't really see the difference with or without HDR on.

Yeah it reminds me of people who used to swear there was no difference in Standard Def TV and High Def TV...it's huge IMO.

I could be wrong but I can't help but feel like people having issues with HDR must have a setting either on their PS4, or TV, or both that just needs to be adjusted or tweaked.

I think this is it. I know some people having issues on the Sony xbr43x800d but the settings I use have it looking phenomenal.

Certain TVs (the Sony for example) do better in a dark room so if people are using TVs that don't get that bright in a light room, it will look worse. I play in a very dark room and it's absolutely wonderful.

I'm not sure what is going on with some of you saying that HDR makes the game too dark. You guys do realize that HDR makes contrast much higher right? So yeah, some areas are going to be very dark and then that makes you notice the extremely bright areas that much more.



Of course I'm speaking generally here and if something that really shouldn't be that dark is then that's different.



Just wondering though if maybe some of you guys are not realizing that the screen is going to look different overall with HDR.



PS I feel sorry for you guys are not utilizing HDR and giving up on it because it really does make the game a whole different game.

I agree with you both. HDR makes this game look so much better. At this point after seeing it in this game there's no way I'd play without it.

I agree. The only problem I see with hdr is streaming to YouTube or twitch. Colors looks pretty bad when you steam a game that is being played in hdr.

Yea I think it has something to do with compatibility issues. Even when you try to record a short clip from your ps4 for some reason it doesn't look correct.

I think you should give it another shot. Give yourself at least some time for your eyes to adjust. Many of us have never seen HDR rendered in a video game and therefore have no idea how it should properly look. Play a few games or even play with HDR on for a few days and if you still don't like it change back. I do think anyone who is not using the HDR capabilities are missing out especially if your tv can output it.
