Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Looking through the recent posts I don't see my set so I thought I would add to the chatter...
I have an LG OLED65B6P, and have gotten great results on my PS4 Pro. I'm using the latest LG firmware which introduced the new "Game" mode. I've finally settled on "Enhanced Visuals" with HDR Mode On which seems to be the sweet spot for me. I may try sliding the HDR slider up a bit, but right now everything looks great.
Anyone else using this TV?
Best looking sports game by far (nba 2k17 second).
I can't help but feel whomever is getting washed out picture has a wrong setting somewhere on their TV or ps4 pro, or have hardware spec issues.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I think this is a hard thing to gauge since picture quality is very subjective. The same set and settings may look great for some people but for others, the same set and settings may look washed out or dull.
I game on the Sony 43 X800D set with HDR on and enhanced visual mode and the intensity slider halfway up and I think the picture looks great. Others may disagree, but to me, it looks and plays great. Skin tones and colors look spot on to me. If the picture looks great to you, id just go with it and ignore what others have and try not to find the one best setting out there.
This reminds me of the term we like to use here for constant slider tweaking.."slideritis" Just find what you like and enjoy the game. Not going to lie, reading this thread has gotten me self conscious of my settings but will just stick with what I have since, to me, they produce the best picture.

I have the Sony z9d and this game is amazing to look at in full HDR slider. Also playing in enhanced because the visuals look similar to 4k but way smoother.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
For 1080p displays I have to feel like NBA 2k17 is the king of visuals due to the downsampling. I haven't seen Show 17 in 4k or enhanced yet so I hope to get a better impression of that when my 4k monitor arrives

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I disagree. I have spent hours fiddling with everything on this forum to make the KS8000 look good with HDR and the only way it looks good is when dynamic contrast is set to high. The biggest thing that makes me say this is that the MLB Network score box is dull and washed out when dynamic contrast is off and looks natural when it's set to high.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
For KS8000 users, Gave this a shot and I think it looks great. It's more of a simpler setting but picture still looks great. I have my HDR all the way up in game but I may go lower or back to default. Also, be sure to not go into the settings menu while in game. That seems to screw everything up.Last edited by JayD; 03-29-2017, 05:05 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
This is more for ODogg, Seasprite, and Artman. I think we all have the KS8000. Ive been playing in 4K so far. I definitely notice the framerate issues, but admittedly I'm a graphics whore.
My question is, can you guys notice a difference in graphics between 4K and enhanced? If so, where do you notice?Comment

I definitely feel you on this, but my only question is (and this is the main reason I have been following this thread closely even though I don't have HDR) is do all the HDR enabled games on PS4 have these similar perceptive inconsistencies or is there something about Show 17 that is making it look different from display to display? I feel like in Horizon I only heard universal praise for HDR, for example.Comment
