Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Created a pitcher for my RTTS, Jamal King out of New York. Had a good showing in the first showcase game and decided to enter the draft after that. King was selected in the 2nd round by the Marlins and is the 5th guy in the rotation. He had great performance in his 1st start allowing only 4 hits, no runs, and 11 strikeouts in 8 innings of work; added in 2 hits as the cherry on top.

I've tried a position player as well and have noticed to the showtime feature works way better as a pitcher than a hitter as the showtime helped on 2 strike pitches to get guys out.

Double A All-Star Game! Finally got to start again (only two innings though)

        Yeah there is.

Play through to the draft. You'll be drafted, receive a call from the team. After that, you'll be called by your advisor. Tell him you want to go to school. You'll go back to the start (scout day). Play through that and both prospects games. You should be taken back to the clubhouse, where you'll be given the option to enter the draft again and below that, an option to select the team you want to be drafted by.

Bit of a pain this year, but it only skips you ahead one season, and with the lack of A/Rookie ball, it doesn't make much of a difference versus real life. Hope this helped!

I'm having a lot of fun in my RTTS this year.
Turned off fielding and baserunning, just want to hit at least for now.

My only gripe is pretty small but is a nuisance...
While at bat, I have to go into the pause screen to find the pitcher's velocity so I know what to look for. I really hope they simply add the velocity numbers with the pitch selection while at bat. I don't want it to clutter the screen but it would save me a step for every at bat.
This would be great in every mode, I check the velocity for every pitcher anyway.
Can't be the only one, right?

Had a current 31 game hitting streak in AA, get called up to AAA, and the streak starts over! ugh! The one time I don't want to move up, haha.

Just got benched because my 2B (60 speed, 45 aggressiveness) kept getting caught stealing after the manager called him into the office and gave him the red light. Guess I'm turning baserunning back on.

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

I started Road to the Show in MLB The Show 17 last night. I was able to create a pretty decent likeness of myself with a bit of tweaking in the game which was cool. Then I got drafted by Philadelphia in the 5th round as a pitcher. I hate Philadelphia so I chose to go back to college rather than play for them. Plus I had sucked terribly in the tryout so wanted to try again.

Went back to school for a year and did the tryout and the two games where you show your stuff and did much better. Got drafted by the Indians in the 4th round this time.

I love RTTS but I guess since I'm an American League pitcher I will never be able to bat eh? Almost wondering if maybe I should restart the whole thing and be something other than a pitcher so I can bat. I love pitching but it's actually the batting I would like to work on as that is what I suck at.

Haven't played much of the show (played 07 and 15 lol). Decided to buy this years version and just created my RTTS guy. Right handed 2B, put most of my points into Contact, as well as a point each in fielding and speed. Ended up doing ok in the showcase games, going 2-4 in my first game, 1-4 in the second (with a 2 run homer). Ended up going 2nd round to the Yankees. Hoping they try me out at another position considering Starlin Castro is the big league 2B at an 85 overall.

Love the level of customization in this game. Plan on making a starting pitcher as well in the future.

I agree 100% with you. It ruins the immersion.

Why do you have to know the pitchers velocity each time you go up to the plate?

So you know your timing for swing. Also there aren't any notifications that there was a pitching change.

Well maybe that's why I suck, I'm just seeing how he pitches and going from that. I agree they need a notification but don't you see that in the game cut scenes? I don't know as I've not batted yet in RTTS.

My bat skills have improved and I'm hitting over .300 now at AA. I was just asked to move to 3B, so I am going to see how that works out in my next series. I'm a little nervous for the move though b/c my arm power isn't all that great, so I can't imagine I'll be able to make the bang-bang plays even if I make a great stop going the other way.

Got drafted as a 3B by the my favorite team (Pirates) for the first time ever. Hit around .250 in AA and got called up to the bigs in September. I had hit like 12 HR and 40 or so RBI but seemed a little unrealistic in the call up haha oh well.

Started 2018 back in the bigs as well.
