My life as a AA SS during fielding

    1. Runner on first, manager calls for DP, runner steals 2b and all I get to do is field a late throw - 25%
    2. Slow grounder to my right, 3B fields it while I watch - 15%
    3. Everything else - 60%

I guess I'll describe my current RTTS pitcher to this point.

So, I've did well in the scout games, a little too well, got drafted ONE PICK before the Angels, got drafted by the Brewers. Was tempted to do the ole' I didn't get picked by my favorite team route but figured I'd just get picked earlier so I signed with them. That and I get to hit so it ain't so bad. 6 starts and 6 wins in AA, ERA under 1.00, throw a perfect game for win number 6. Think it's time for promotion huh? Nope. Got called to the managers office and asked to be a closer for a short time. A little disappointing but I took it in stride. Closed out all the games I had with no runs and 4 saves. Called back to the managers office and told I would be put back in my original spot. Was put into a long relief situation the next day. Confused I went to check my rotation spot and I was actually a long reliever (possibly due to my guys rating), and now I've been pitching long relief for a month or so. So yeah this kinda sucks. Lol

Just lost a no-hit bid in the 9th with 2 outs on a ball that hit off my leg and due to the camera angle changing TWICE i couldn't run to the ball and throw him out in time.

Dang that sucks man. I threw a perfect game last week on 16 with a new SP I made just messing around and from the 7th inning on I was waiting on something wonky to cost me my bid. Luckily it never did though. Hang in there, you'll get it soon enough!

I couldn't stand playing DH anymore so I went back to a previous save right before the showcase, same guy same SS. I got drafted 1st round to Detroit. My team, much better. If they put me at DH me and San Diego Studio are going to have a talk..

Just created my character today. I thought I did ok in the showcase, but, I must have been the only one. I wasn't drafted till the 6th round by the Braves. I've only played two games so far, but my only hit is a double. My ratings are terrible lol... gonna be a grind.

DH?! That sucks. I just finished up my first month at SS, with a cool .315/.375/.425 slash, 100%FLD, and the Jays decided they wanted to "try me out" at RF. I know how this goes. Really hoping this isn't a permanent thing, I get they're trying to throw us curveballs, but I find the outfield incredibly boring. If you're going to take the best athlete on your team from the most difficult position to field for no particular reason, at least throw them in centerfield boys!

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

My career as a catcher in the Rays organization started at AA Montgomery. I got to play every day, made the Southern League All-Star game and was called up to AAA the day after. I was batting .351 with 19 HR and 74 RBI in AA.

My move to AAA saw me split time with 3 other catchers and only play 28 games the second half of the season. I hit .391 with 8 HR and 25 RBI.

Fast forward to season #2 and I'm the AAA starter, but there are 6 (SIX!) catchers on the team. I'm 56 games into the season and I've only played 7 games. I'm hitting .424 with 3 HR and 11 RBI.

This is a bit ridiculous. At one point in time I didn't play for 38 straight days. All my ratings are in red decline because I don't get playing time to earn points to keep up with the training. I'd call this career a massive failure. Why would the AI put 6 catchers on a team roster and have the starting catcher in the depth chart only play 7 games in almost half a season? Guess it's off to a new career. :-/

So while waiting on the minors roster I decided to play a test RTTS. I created a closing pitcher as I knew it would be quick games, did pretty well in the showcase games & was drafted 11th overall by the Angels. I liked the team, but then after a month and a half or so I got traded to the blue jays.

                      5/7/17 @ Midland : 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO

Okay so after my 3rd appearance this month, i got a cutscene with the team manager. He wanted me to become the closer for the team. I told him “No, i am a starter." so he benched me for a couple games. Got another cutscene where i talk to my advisor about what happened. I told him i refused to become a closer and he told me I’m not in a position to make decisions like that and that he would look for an agent to help deal with situations like this. After the cutscene ended, i went to play my next appearance and it turns out i have to go through with closer role which is really frustrating. I was just settling into my long reliever which i kinda liked.

                      5/13/17 @ San Antonio : 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO

                      5/19/17 vs Corpus Christi : S (2) 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO

Done with my Closer Trial. Manager talked to me and told me the people higher up have taken notice of my production and skills improvement, so i may be getting promoted soon.

                      5/23/17 @ NW Arkansas : 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO

                      5/31/17 vs NW Arkansas : 4.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO

I signed an Agent from JLS Sports. Advisor told me if was a good decision so i trusted his judgment. I guess well see what happens.

Hey guys, first time posting here, so I hope you can help.

In previous years games, the batter tendencies for your player would randomly generate at the point you created the player. My batter of choice is an "extreme pull" batter. In the new game I noticed after creating 5 different players that every time I would get 33-Left 34-Center 33-Right? Has anyone else noticed this, does your spray chart change over time in RTTS now, or did I just happen to get 5 of the same ones.

Any help would be appreciated guys.
                          Thanks

Well i stayed in AA right up to the playoffs then went into the managers office & I got called up straight to the show.. My first game I'm up against the Orioles & I'm ahead of Davis then I missed on an inside slider that was promptly deposited into center field. Welcome to the show 67 overall rookie. Lol

Has anyone noticed missing base runners in RTTS? For example, 0 outs, man on 1st and I single to center, runner advances to 2nd. Next batter walks and I go to 2nd and it's man on 1st and 2nd with no outs?!?? What happened to the man on 2nd who should have gone to 3rd? It should be bases loaded with 0 out. Am I crazy? I could have sworn this has happened to me multiple times. One time it was man on 1st and 2nd and I hit a ball too hard and strand the man on 3rd. Suddenly it's me on 1st and a man on 3rd with no one scoring and 2nd base empty.

I'm not sure if I should post a bug on the official forum until I get some verification that I'm not crazy.
