On further playing in a couple of stadiums I really dont think it is downsampling.

There are just too many jaggies, bats, logos on cleats, edges of grass, etc. Unless they are just using bad AA, but even then usually when i downsample from 1440 or 4k on PC i can turn AA off because the downsampling gets rid of it.

For enhanced visuals did it let you apply changes after it warned about not being compatible?

This is what's confusing me based on different posts from other people

So there's no real discernible difference in image quality between the default visual mode and HFR?

                        Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro

Ok so from reading here and watching the streams, this is how I understand it. The developers stated that enhanced visual mode has the same or similar framerate as the standard ps4.

So in advanced visual mode you get better visuals, but no framerate improvements over the standard ps4

In high framerate mode, you get a higher framerate but no visual improvement over the standard ps4.

4k mode gives much better visuals, but a worse framerate than the standard ps4.

So there is no option to get better visuals and a higher framerate correct.

I might be missing something here, but that's how I understand it.

I just cant tell right now. It does feel anti aliasing is a bit better especially looking at rafters, distance etc but as you can see it still has that horrible shimmer on the bat. Its however better in the daytime so possibly could be a lighting issue. The railings also have it which is pretty distracting.

If i had to say either way at the moment id say it isnt being downsampled but ill look further.

The Framerate is a game changer though, even without FRM it is silky smooth, so no complaints there.

When i try and change to enhanced or 4k it just says no HDMI 2.2 was detected.

I really hope we get some official word on this and if it isn't downsampling then hopefully we get a patch or at the least an explanation.

PC gaming has ruined me because it does look great but I cant stand bad aliasing

That said the game looks massively better than last years

ALso excuse pic quality, i'm trying to do quickly so uploading to Facebook then pulling them

If you don't have your PS4 photo setting set to PNG, then you are just getting downgraded jpg images and they are getting compressed big time when you put them on facebook or twitter.

The best way to post a pic if you want good image quality first change the format to PNG, then transfer the image to USB then upload it to a place like google photos or flikr that allow 4k images.

I haven't been more satisfied by an electronics purchase in my life. The C6 wasn't an easy decision, but I swear it's paid off. The 3D is on point. And even though the peak brightness isn't as high as some of the other manufacturers "flagship" sets, the zero black levels more than make up for it. Even low res sources look amazing. I was more worried about image retention than I was with my previous plasma set, but it's not nearly as bad in that regard. After the HDR input lag update, it's been gaming bliss.

What settings are you using for the HDR? I've seen some discussion in here about this. Have you had any issues getting the brightness correct?

                                Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro

I played MLB The Show 16 on PS4 Pro with the "boost mode" on ... and I was very pleased that I could feel noticeably better frame rate. I've been playing 16 regularly up through this point, so the difference was very noticeable.

I've never felt frame rate on PS4 was catching up to the PS3 days of the Show, but it resurrected the feeling of smoothness I have missed.

Unfortunately after one of the games it got stuck and froze on a bug, so apparently the mode is not entirely bug free... but if I'm getting something similar with 17, I'd be very happy.

(Without the boost mode, I feel things weren't that different on Pro though.)
