Its just strange that they have locked out the enhanced 1440p mode for 1080p displays. Because of that all signs point to no downsampling imo which is a massive shame considering most new games have it now.

Again though hopefully will see for myself or we get official word from digital foundry or SDS themselves

A 4k tv right now is WAY out of my situation (its like "Can someone buy tomba a 65 inch 4k tv?")

After playing Zelda on Switch Horizon was NO LONGER a interest and me keeping a PS4 was only for MLB The Show now
I kind of hear you, the game will still be great but honestly this stuff just makes me want to get rid of consoles altogether.

If it was madden, 2k etc doing this id do it but I just love the show too much

If it is indeed the case its a pretty poor show from a Sony developer considering they want to sell Pro consoles.

Absolutely everything hinges on the meaning behind this post:

              Chris
So, maybe it happens by default, or maybe it happens as long as you select HFR mode... only somebody who plays on a base PS4 then a Pro PS4 (with keen and trusting eyes) will be able to settle this once and for all.

My local Best Buy is finally getting Pro consoles in stock on Wednesday. Only reason I may hold off is because of a possible new Pro (with a UHD drive) coming in the future (total rumor and possible speculation on my end, take no stock into this whatsoever) and a $25 off Visa Checkout promotion should one exist in the future. I'm not able to game much right now anyway, not even tomorrow when I pick up the game!

The other question is on this. Do we get downsampling in 1080p? Do we also get it in HFR mode? If neither, can they patch it in at least without HFR so we can select 4K or Enhanced mode?

Hmm, time will tell on this one...

I'm sure by tomorrow we will know if there is downsampling. Someone will pick up on it quickly I'm sure.

I was surprised to see two PS4 Pro's at my Walmart yesterday. Haven't had them in a long time.

So the basic PS4 dosent get the option for these 3 things mentioned in here, downsampling, HFR etc?

And its also locked to 30FPS, but runs smooth at that framerate?

You can use high framerate with regular PS4.

OK cheers, so that means it can run at 60FPS smooth?

The 3 modes as PS4 Pro only.

Oh, my bad. I must have heard wrong. That kinda sucks for regular PS4 owners.

You can't use HFR, but you can use HDR... though it's a different kind of HDR (don't really know the specifics). Call it HDR-Lite, if you will.

Still need a 4K set that's HDR capable.

It doesn't suck. It just is. The regular ps4 is less powerful than the ps4 pro.

                                Correct. HDR will work.

4K/High Framerate/Enhanced Visuals are not available as options in the Pro.
