I've never felt frame rate on PS4 was catching up to the PS3 days of the Show, but it resurrected the feeling of smoothness I have missed.

Unfortunately after one of the games it got stuck and froze on a bug, so apparently the mode is not entirely bug free... but if I'm getting something similar with 17, I'd be very happy.

(Without the boost mode, I feel things weren't that different on Pro though.)

I'm just now realizing that you had to enable boost mode. I re downloaded The Show 16 over the weekend, in anticipation of 17 dropping, and was going crazy over the classic pitching meter hitching mid-pitch. I could tell the frames were dropping when trying to line up the presses every few pitches. I'd been so distracted by Zelda: BotW, that I hadn't really dove into the feature set of the new 4.50 firmware, and forgot boost mode was a thing. I'm going to go try it out again to see if it makes a difference with my pitching. Thanks for the reminder. LOL

Just to clarify, 1080p users with PS4 pro need to turn boost mode on in the dashboard in settings and then turn on high frame rate in the game under the video options? Thank you

No, boost mode only affects older games from before the Pro launched that don't have Pro mode built into them

Just turn it on anyway tho, it's a nice feature

I was more worried about image retention than I was with my previous plasma set, but it's not nearly as bad in that regard. After the HDR input lag update, it's been gaming bliss.

What settings are you using for the HDR? I've seen some discussion in here about this. Have you had any issues getting the brightness correct?

I'll post my HDR settings later or PM you.

No issues with brightness. Tweaked it a little after purchasing it but its looks great to me.

boost mode is for games that haven't had a patch to add proper Pro support, which isn't an issue with 17 or any other game going forward.

I'd very much appreciate that. Just two more hours! Haha.

Where and how do you turn on boost mode within a PS4 pro?

I just got a new Samsung 55 inch 4K HDR TV and I have the regular PS4. However I noticed that the HDR section of the settings was locked. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or why this is? I thought the regular PS4 was able to support HDR

Yep sounds nice. However my OG PS4 on a 4K will have to do this gen.
Sounds like the game still looks great even with an OG PS4.
                                Can't justify buying a new PS4 with a working PS4.
