Yeah, sucks about the RTTS framerate though. It's probably not a bug, either.

Better is subjective and everyone's tolerance to motion judder is different but if I narrowed down my TV choice to those two, I'd get the curved for the better motion handling and also the back separation that is still an issue on the flat screen.

          Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro

I hate to be 'that guy', but overall I'm pretty disappointed in how far (or not far) graphics have come. I first bought MLB the Show 09 on PS3 and was totally blown away. I've only played one or two since then, but this was my first time playing on the current generation of consoles. I have a Pro and a 4k full HDR tv.

Sure, the current game obviously looks much better than this, but after 8 years, 4k, and HDR, I would have expected the game to look much more realistic, at the very least run smoother on enhanced graphics mode. The biggest problem with the PS4 PRO is that developers are just increasing pixels, which has diminishing returns. Textures (especially skin textures) are really holding this back from feeling next gen. Not to mention players still actually run through each other.

Don't worry about being "that guy." I appreciate your opinions and insight. Maybe with more development time we will start seeing more pronounced Pro enhancements?

Horizon: Zero Dawn is a great example of a game that (I think?) actually uses better textures in the higher visual modes of the Pro. I really hope we see that at some point. I think all sports games are lacking so far on this generation visually but hopefully Madden will improve with frostbite. Nothing else has wowed me like Horizon and Uncharted 4 thus far.

yeah, Horizon looks fantastic on the Pro with Favor Resolution enabled.

                  Yeah, for sure.

Personally I think this game looks good and has come a long ways, but there are a couple areas that I would personally like to see improved:

A.) Aliasing. Chalk lines, railing in the distance, certain angles make them appear very jaggy on my screen and I kinda feel like we should be past that by now. Again, just my opinion

B.) hitching. I dunno if this is CPU, or hard drive, or RAM related but I feel there has to be a way to smooth out the data streaming to eliminate the random little hitches that happen here and there. Maybe this is related to the base engine being somewhat old?

I'm actually playing on the PS4 Slim and am not noticing any of the judder people are talking about...but I am also playing on a 2ms Dell Gaming Monitor (SE2417HG) so I wonder if that makes a difference vs other PS4 Plain users. I wonder if I will really notice the Pro Benefits on my gaming Monitor.

I took advantage of the Gamestop promo and traded in my OG PS4 this evening for the Pro. I still have my 46 inch 1080p 3D Samsung set but am still looking forward to the improvements that the Pro will provide. Watching Wrestlemania right now but will probably jump on later tonight.

Its more than playable on normal PS4 but my word, on Pro...different ball game now, absurdly good.
Awesome to hear! I just got a Pro but my tv only supports 1080p. The games default option setting is "4k", but what is the right setting I should have set on for a 1080p TV? It's not a 4K TV. Should I select "higher frame rate" or better quality or can I select both? Thanks.

According to others, HFR is the only option that 1080p sets benefit from.

                              PS4 vs PS4 pro

With a 1080p display there is no difference between any of the visual modes. You only get high framerate with a 1080p display. Why it lets you choose 4k or EV, and why it defaults to 4k, really why the other options even appear on 1080p displays is a mystery and may be a design bug. Or perhaps downsampling will be provided in a patch down the road

Just set it to HFR and don't worry about it again unless you upgrade to a 4k monitor.
