Honestly, theoretically Boost Mode shouldn't make a difference in The Show 17 either way, but I have reached a point where I am just telling myself "whatever works, go with it." Certain things were driving me crazy and I just had to figure out what felt best and believe in whatever was happening.

If you plug up your PS4 Pro to your 4k TV with a HDMI and get a picture, you are getting the best you will get with those two devices together....you wont improve with a new HDMI cable.....no matter how much they try to sell you one. As long as your cable is compatible with at least 1.4 HDMI and high speed (basically same price as standards which at phased out) you shouldn't have any issues. Don't go out and buy a $40 cable because they tell you that you will have better 4K with a higher frame rate....its just not true.
He does need an HDMI cable that is HDCP 2.2 compliant, however.

No....................HDCP 2.2 compliance has nothing to do with the cable and everything to do with the port.

I want to say this thread convinced me to trade in my original ps4 for the pro yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the HFR mode. I don't have a 4k tv, but the smoothness of HFR is a game changer.

Do most Gamestop's have them in stock? I keep seeing that people traded their launch PS4 in for a Pro. None of your standard retailers ie:Best buy, Target, or Amazon have them in around me. I guess I just don't frequent Gamestop since it's in the mall and I hate the mall.

Hopefully someone may be able to help me understand the new technologies with my setup to see if I can or cannot run certain modes.

I have a Samsung UN50HU8550 tv (2014 Model) and I have a PS4 original. I was wondering (before I go and potentially buy anything) if my setup would allow me to run HDR mode, or even the high frame rate mode? I am considering trading in my original PS4 for a PS4Pro but if my TV still won't be compatible then I would guess it wouldn't make sense for me to do so.
                Any help would be appreciated!

High framerate mode is a Pro only visual mode option and is automatically enabled on a 1080p display (it's the only rendering mode for Pro and 1080p displays).

I don't know if your tv is HDR compatible or not

Yeah, Gamestop would be your best bet. Call ahead though just in case.

Yeah, I got the Pro. However no way to take my 2tb HD out of my launch PS4 to get it in to the Pro with data transfer. So waiting for downloading the game again.... Stupid instant gratification society.

I used to have that TV. It doesn't have HDR capability unless you add the connect one box with the new processor. Even then, it's HDR support and not really that good at it. It doesn't get bright enough nor dark enough so it will be dim. You really need a 2016 TV to get good minimum decent HDR performance. For Samsung, starting with the k or j 8000 models, but the FALD version does it even better.

My Gamestop had them in stock last night. They are running a deal right now where you get $170 for a og ps4 and you can get $25 extra for being a power rewards member which is only $15 bucks a year. So even if you sign up there, you still net $180 trade in and get a year of their pro memberiship which is a hell of a deal considering uncharted slim bundles been selling for $249 last month. I think today or tomorrow is the last day of the deal for the trade in. I ran out last night and traded mine in while I could.

For anyone remotely interested in the Pro and is a PR member at GS, 195 bucks is probably the best deal you're gonna get for your OG PS4 outside of Craigslist.

Yeah my man. It's only gonna go down as time goes on, especially if another new slimmer PS4 is coming as rumors suggest
