Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
I am seeing it as well. Some of the stadiums are harder to notice than others, possibly because of the colour and shade of the seats, but it's still noticeable.

By chance, did you see the other vid I posted about a rendering line going through the crowd on hard hit balls as the camera pans? Have you noticed that as well?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
Can someone do me a favor? (Please)
Go to mini-games, go to batting practice, and see if the seats in the stadium look like this when you load in
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MY1Ft6-nm3k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I am starting to notice all sorts of rendering hiccups in the stands in games and I just want to make sure its not all just happening for meComment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
I have upgraded my Pro with an SSD and whenever I see pop-in, or this LOD stuff happen (like recently with Horizon) I kind of panic like "crap, is my Pro dying? Is my game glitched, is my hard drive failing" stuff like that.
I am gonna assume that the crowd "rapid resolution shift" I get on quick camera pans is normal and happening everywhere, just part of the game engine.
Yeah, this game is great. I can't wait to start my Rockies franchise. Can't wait to get my 4k monitor and get full benefits too."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
In your time with the game so far you haven't noticed anything like this (watch the rendering line in the crowd)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HeXk4sS7ofs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
in any of your gameplay? This is a controlled replay, but on hard hit balls where the crowd comes into view suddenly, like mostly on hard hit pulled fouls, I get this rendering line every time
another example
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hLY0h_Qp23o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Many people actually don't know this, but I rarely get any time to play these games. In the past two years, I've probably completed maybe thirty total games for both MLB '15 and MLB '16.
Have I noticed this? Not in-game, but I saw it on YouTube videos before I bought the game. I understand what it is, and have to chalk it up to the nature of the beast. It's entering a close enough frame to draw with greater details is all.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
Okay, anyone who is wondering what the difference between PS4 and PS4 Pro is (in 1080p) in regards to framerate: it's a big difference. I just had a go at the game on my Wife's PS4, and sure, it hits 60 (or close) at some points, but it frequently drops, just like it used to in last year's game. Same scenarios, etc. On the Pro, with high framerate enabled, it's 60 FPS everywhere. Fielding, throwing, every game play element.
We will never have a true 60 FPS experience with this game on the regular PS4. If you're serious about framerate, you should strongly consider the Pro. I was a little worried that I wasted my money, reading posts about people saying the framerate is much improved on the regular PS4, but after testing it myself, all I can say is wow.Last edited by Bacong; 03-30-2017, 12:50 AM.Comment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
Wife gave me the green light, so I pulled the trigger on a Pro tonight and I'm so glad I did. The game is way smoother now. I can't get enough of it. Had to take a break so I put on some CPU vs. CPU to play in the background just so I can keep enjoying it.
It was set to 4K by default, even though I'm on 1080p, but even that was smoother than the standard PS4. On High Framrate mode, it's outstanding compared to what I was seeing before the upgrade.Comment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
This is getting discussed a bit on GAF, there is a member there who is a bit of an expert at this and has asked for screenshots of the various modes on 1080p displays to count pixels.
I'll do this when I get home tonight or if anyone else is a member, maybe they could helpComment

I can't see any discernable change in the 3 modes in framerate or image quality on my 1080p, so that's what I'm going with. High Frame Rate it is - because I don't have a choice.Last edited by bcruise; 03-30-2017, 03:34 AM.Comment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
Same here. That shouldn't be right since we don't have 4K capability, so as others have mentioned what I think is happening is that EV and 4K just don't do anything for 1080p - we can select and apply the change but there's no change in the image quality. Because if it were really trying to render in 4K and downsampling, we'd be seeing the choppiness in the game that others are seeing in True 4K.

Yeah makes sense. I didn't leave it on 4K long enough to really do much comparison. All I know is High Frame Rate is quite a lot better than what I was seeing on my old PS4 so I'm loving it.Comment

Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro
I'm on PS4P. It plays mostly fine, but the one game I played in the rain was a problem. You could clearly see the frame drops as the rain stuttered. There are also a few times each game where you get a hiccup mid-pitch, but nothing catastrophic. The only game I have to compare the experience to is Bloodborne, and it's much better than that.Comment
