Do it. It's so worth it man. I've been begging for this game in 60 FPS for years. It's so lovely.

      I'm wrong just tell me.
The original PS4 version is definitely playing the game at 60fps a lot of the time.

1080p Pro users, keep your eyes and ears open....

I have a theory that I can't really elaborate on but I am fairly certain that something isn't quite working as intended for people with 1080p displays and a Pro.

Just something about everything I have read, and everything I have experienced myself, makes my Spidey Sense tingle a little.

I am thinking of going and buying a used OG PS4 at GS tomorrow just to test something. I am 90 percent sure that something isn't right with the Pro visual options and 1080p displays, including HFR mode (just noticed some weird things in RTTS games).

Very interesting. I'll look forward to your updates as I'm on 1080p and was planning to buy a Pro soon (maybe even tomorrow night).

Playing on OG PS4. Framerate is awesome compared to last year, but I'm not ready to call it 60 FPS. The only time it actually feels like real 60 is when seeing the Retro mode cam, but even then I think that HFR is probably treating people with more butter-smooth gameplay. Just a hunch.

Same. I'm seeming a lot of straight up fps drops too, but I seem to be in the minority, so maybe it's not affecting everyone.

Number of times the issue occurred:Pretty much every time after a cutscene. It throws off the pulse pitching if you like to pitch quickly.

                Current version number:1.02

Description and steps to reproduce the issue, if available: I use the MLB 16 hitting camera and the MLB 16 pitching camera. It's just a quick frame rate hitch, but it's definitely noticeable. Not sure if it affects other modes of pitching. It is fixable by waiting a couple of seconds before you start to pitch... wait for the frame rate stutter to pass. It's more of an annoyance than anything.

Screenshot or Video attachment/link: Don't have one.

                From the bug thread...

That's exactly what I'm seeing on the standard PS4. I said before that it seemed to happen when doing warmup swings, but it happens at that exact time whether I do a warmup swing or not, and it happens on defense as well (in all modes).

Additionally seeing other hitches (mainly during RTTS cut scenes), but this one is repeatable every time.

PLEASE keep us posted on your findings JB. I was just thinking to myself, I wish I had an OG PS4 set up right next to my Pro to compare.

                      Re: PS4 vs PS4 pro

                      This is super odd.

This is starting to give me a headache (sincerely).

I was getting some pretty severe chug in certain moments in RTTS games, I was also getting this weird rendering line on hard hit foul balls (I posted a video of this in Q and A thread) when looking at the crowd. I felt like the game I was playing wasn't a new Pro game, it was performing more like The Show 16 with boost mode.

I turned off boost mode and restarted my PS4 and now those chug moments and slowdown in RTTS are gone and game is noticeably smoother. I am going to turn boost mode back on and see if I can repeat these results for film capture, and if not then maybe it was just the hard reboot that fixed it and has nothing to do with boost mode.

On top of this, I also a doubling down on my theory that things aren't working as intended, in general, with the visual mode selection on 1080p displays.

My next step, after seeing if the boost mode observation is repeatable or was just a fluke, is seeing how this game performs on my monitor on an OG PS4. That will at least give me a legit basis of comparison.

                              Huh?

Framerate is possibly the worst it has ever been. I have seen such severe frame drops that game looks like it freezes for a second.

I have seen framerate tank into the low teens multiple times while turning double plays in RTTS.

OH NO...There goes the Ol' theory, All you gotta do is checkmark Boost Mode on your Pro and forget about it.

So Boost Mode could actually be hurting performance in some games now??
