A month ago (4/5 to be exact), Bard had Z.Cozart at a low C. Are we sticking with that or has his hot start changed his value any? With a .423 BABIP, he's going to come back down to Earth but unless he stays in a huge slump, he could still be looking at a career year of 280/350/480 "ish" (wonky projection math included). Maybe slide him up to a high C for a 5mm guy with a good glove?

Just curious before I get neck deep into a franchise. I don't want to short the Reds a prospect and all signs tell me I'm going to want to make this move fairly quickly (Reds fall off fast in all previous sims).
With the shortage on SS options I think there's a chance the Reds could get a B prospect for him. His glove is excellent and if his bat stays above average he's a pretty valuable piece. I don't think it's gonna take Chance Sisco or anything but the O's don't have much to deal from

I don't know if I'd go that high for him. I wouldn't object to throwing a 2nd piece as a lottery ticket or farm hand but I think even a low B would be a stretch. I might even throw them some international bonus money (theoretically). I'm not discounting the player but who am I bidding against? What other "typical" contenders would need a SS (excluding injury)? At a B prospect, I say no thank you and let the Reds risk watching him walk at years end for nothing.

This is me buying though so I'm willing to concede a biased perspective.

I guess let us know at the deadline if anyone else needs a SS. But id say at least a C+ and a lotto ticket

In real life I could see the Nats trading for Cozart and just putting Turner in CF for half the year

Eh, I didn't think about that. But with what they are going to have to spend in currency for a closer, they might have to stick with Taylor. Being objective though and staying in the same division, if the Mets get their act together, they may be in the market for a SS rental as well.

My issue is that I'm looking into the crystal ball and always see a 3 team race for the AL East. If I wait until the break to try and make a move, I'm fighting for a WC...not doing that again (see:last year!). Two of three sims Hardy gets dinged and the CPU Buck S. moves C.Davis to 3rd and Manny to SS. While I like Crush, he's not a 3B. Let's flip it and get expensive, is C.Sedlock + J.Reyes enough to get J.Lamb in your eyes? I won't do it if ARZ is winning but, in all 3 sims, LAD runs away with the NLW and ARZ has only been as high as 4th in the WC, the other 2 years they stink.

Just trying to get some options. JJ is going to make one heck of a coach but his playing days are done.

Didn't you recently mention thinking Lamb could get Devers? You didn't list anyone near that valuable. Id guess you'd have to move Sisco + for Lamb

Ok. What's your plus? Tell me because whatever it is, I'll sell it. I have no misconceptions about the BAL farm. I'm here to win ball games that mean something. MiLB wins get some pretty trophies for the front office wall but if I have Lamb in LF last year (where Sisco will ultimately project...Castillo is fine at C with an extension if necessary), a WC playoff game with TOR doesn't happen and Buck doesn't make a season ending mistake (dance with who brought you and we're not there if he's not doing the job all year). I want a WS title and have to beat BOS and CHC/LAD to get it.

Who else do you feel needs to move for J.Lamb? (that Hybrid has as a contact L rating of 19...sample size, ugh!)...with the possible exception of A.Santander who we are probably have to give back to CLE anyway. I don't want another WC playoff game! I'm serious, I'll let JJ call defensive alignments from the bench for practice and put a ring on his finger for retirement. DD needs to shake the tree and see what falls out, I'm here to motivate him to do such. What's your price Mr. GM, I'm buying.

Id feel comfortable using Mountcastle, Reyes or Akin as the +. Not a huge extra but a small cherry on the top. You could pick whichever hurts less to give up on top of Sisco

Sisco + Reyes it is. Aiken will be a good bullpen piece in 2 years (along with Sedlcok, all things considered as both give up as may hits as K's in low/high A ball). I still have hope for Mountcastle as an up the middle utility piece in 3 years. ARZ can let Cisco develop as a bat first MLB C or put him in LF next year and Reyes can maybe play a platoon role at 1B (heavy emphasis on 'maybe') when they either trade Goldy or lose him in FA. Resets the Dbacks and puts them in a position to sell Pollock and Goldy (as Drury plays 3B...and everything else) and lets the O's do what they are built to, win today and tomorrow. Next week...well, I'll deal with that 'tomorrow'.

Thank you guys for answering my Cozart question. I was wondering what his value as Hardy is ummm, let's just say thankfully his contract is up at the end of the year.

I know realistically this would never happen but for whatever this year I am guessing the change they did to his wind up, I am having the worse time pitching with Kevin Gausman. I can't locate his pitches for whatever reason. In my Franchise it is currently June 30th and he is pitching to a 4.91 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP but is averaging nearly 9 strikeouts per 9. I am also walking about 3.5 batters per 9 innings with him as well. I will probably hold onto to him through the season unless I would be overwhelmed with an offer. As of right now he has 2.5 years of control left. What do you think is a realistic return for him?

I don't mind helping, if you need it. I am normally at my computer all throughout the day during the week and normally check out things once a night once I get home from work. Just not around much on the weekends as pulling out a computer around a two year old just isn't worth it. LOL

Just trying to make some moves for some teams at the deadline.

Todd Frazier for Zack Wheeler and minor league RF

White Sox are out of the race (Mets are in and David Wright is out for the year) and Wheeler is in AAA after scuffling in the majors. Frazier is playing as expected.

                          Thoughts?

EDIT: This was a suggested trade by the CPU btw. It suprised me as it is pretty decent I think.

im kind of at a bind here, In my Yankees franchise, i got offered a trade from the Nationals.

                            To Yankees:

SP Gio Gonzalez 31 B 85 lefty 6.8 mil final year
RF Juan Soto 18 B 55 lefty 60k can renew 2 more years.

                            to Nationals:

                            LF Brett Gardner 33 B 82 7.6 mil 2 more years.

now i do have Aaron Hicks to take over the Left Field if i do this. now Gio has kind of a low BB/9 and H/9 at 59 and 62 respectively

There's no way the Nats give up a rotation piece and a prospect for Gardner. Just look at the trade, Gio is the better piece even leaving Soto out of the equation.
