Yes, you can. The only problem is every team has a SP as there DH in my franchise. It's the default. I hope I can fix it with 30 team control. Otherwise, it's pretty bad having guys like Tyler Skaggs as the DH for the Angels.

Hopefully that is patched, but once you edit all the teams DH lineups with 30 team control you should be fine right?

Another question does Shohei have a different overall as a hitter? Like is it different from his pitching overall and if so what is his overall as a hitter in the game? I haven’t got the game yet so I can’t check for myself.

I'm not sure. Both the Angels and my team had a DH assigned but the game overrode that with a SP. I changed mine back before the game but then my starter wasn't eligible to pitch.

I checked another game and both those teams assigned DH's started. Not sure if it had to do with me playing the Angels or what but it really takes away from the game if AL teams are going to be using a SP as their DH.

I guess I’ll have to take a look at it once I get the game. Yeah basically having no DH in both leagues would be a major buzzkill. Hopefully if enough awareness is raised they will patch it. Perhaps this was one of the difficulties they were having when th3y couldn’t implement it last year.

Maybe they should just have pitchers eligible at the lineup screen like they do for pinch hitters instead of getting cute with not allowing Ohtani to hit on certain days.....

This is really annoying, they should put an Outfield version of Ohtani in the Legends free agent pool so we can swap him out for those of us who want THE REALISTIC experience and play him in the outfield this year LIKE IN REAL LIFE.

is this in Franchise mode? because from what I have read you can't do this in franchise mode

pathetic that it can't be done in franchise mode... another who cares it isn't a DD thing to fix from SDS.

anyway the way to get around it is last years trick. just call up a unknown player after you send down the 5th guy in the agnels rotation. sub him from DH for Ohtani. so you don't burn a sub. in the first innings. it would then be like it never happened.

then call up that 5th guy in the rotation again when its his turn.

This is the only work around I know of. the only issues are it takes 1 min of time and the lineup screen at the start of the game will look annoying, but you sub Ohtani in first innings as DH it will be like he was there all along.... obviously this won't work if you are simming though

That just makes the whole thing unenjoyable. The devs need to patch this and make him an outfielder like he is in real life this year.

I know, but honestly it only takes 1 min out of your time to do that workaround it's the only way to do it.

They won't fix it unless it's a big issue for DD
