Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
Oh, just thought of another scenario:
Okay, MLB 19 and franchise mode playing season 2020 online. I imagine Kopech will be there and Ohtani will not. Well, unless we can import Ohtani the pitcher into the game. So why couldn't someone start Kopech in 2020 online?
I assume Ohtani will pitch in 2020, and Kopech as well.Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
However I got a feeling that if you have a franchise from MLB 18 with Ohtani as a pitcher (as I still do) and throw him into 19 my guess is that will then become a FAKE player, UNLESS they still have Ohtani as a pitcher and Ohtani as a DH BOTH different IDs in the system. this could be very interesting on how this works. but my guess is if you have Ohtani the pitcher from a early roster update he will turn into a fake player.Comment

Continue franchise from 18 and use CPU roster control to export him. Then import him into 19 roster.
I don't think you can export the SCEA version of Ohtani.Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
If your 18 franchise had CPU Roster Control On, and Ohtani was a created player with ability to modify appearance, then you could export him into 19 roster.

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
Yes, that is true. Depends how badly you want him. Audio can be adjusted to some other name, but stats are an issue. Unknown to many is Shohei's younger brother, Shuhei, also a pitcher. Though his last name is different, they do look quite similar. He goes under the name of Shuhei OshiroComment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
I know it would never happen and they would never give us the option. but if we could have a audio ID system, where we could link a created player to a real players Audio ID it would solve a lot of issues. and then we could create a lot more player without losing the audio links.
I am not expecting much change this year. sports games are really starting to go downhill with the Microtransaction crap the MUT modes by EA NBA 2k joining in and MLB going the dark side more and more each year this year I really fear for the game and I never thought I would think that. because DD mode and digital card crap is more important then a 2 way player who was doing something unique and in the headlines every week last year.Comment

Anyway, I'm also going downhill, will be 77 in AugustComment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
I've been playing video games since 1978. I hope to still be playing when I'm 100. Almost halfway there.
Seems like Ohtani was an 82 overall in the 18 default roster, but on the release day update he dropped to high 70s, IIRC
Are we looking at him as a high 80s in 19, and what kind of durability we looking at , 50-65?OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Yeah, you'll be playing at 100, just a wee bit slowerComment
