I know, but honestly it only takes 1 min out of your time to do that workaround it's the only way to do it.

They won't fix it unless it's a big issue for DD

Yeah, but I don't even want to control the Angels, I just want Ohtani to be an everyday batter like he is this year without having to micromanage it.

I'm a Giants fan, and we suck this year.

As long as he is listed in the starting rotation in franchise mode, he will automatically generate in the DH spot in the lineup in between his starts. So he can't hit the day before or after his starts. If you keep shuffling your rotation around this, he can DH every game.

That just makes the whole thing unenjoyable. The devs need to patch this and make him an outfielder like he is in real life this year.

He won’t play one inning in the outfield this year, or any other year in the near future.

So he has to be in the 3 slot in the rotation? And you have to move him around all the time? This shouldn’t be that confusing! But they made it this way.

I put him in the 5 spot then shuffle him to the 3 slot once i hit my 4th starter. If you want him to pitch then put him where ever you want but i am only using him as a DH so i have to keep shuffling him.

Yeah he will not show up in lineup screen. He will just replace whoever is the DH in your lineup

Maybe they should just have pitchers eligible at the lineup screen like they do for pinch hitters instead of getting cute with not allowing Ohtani to hit on certain days.....

Yup, but SDS is lazy and it isn't a concern in DD. Plus I am sure if you could sub pitchers into the lineup, SDS would be concerned about "cheesing" (another stupid Ramon buzz word that I hate), because people will create pitchers who can hit well and use the in DD.

You can technically edit Ohtani's hitting stats all to 99 and it won't affect his OVERALL or value as a player since he's a pitcher in Franchise mode.

So if we start a 30 team franchise and set it up however it needs to be done we won’t have to continuously check in on the angels to fix the lineup so he’s there? Also can we just have him DH without pitching like he will be this year and not have to mess with it while simming?

I did a bunch of tests in FRANCHISE.

If Angels are CPU controlled and Ohtani is SP in the rotation, he will DH on days he is not pitching (excluding the day right before and after he pitches for rest).

Ohtani will not DH if you change him to RP or CL.

There is no way to have Ohtani strictly DH without pitching.

What if you have multiple two-way players on your roster? Will one default to DH or will you be able to choose?

Unfortunately the game doesn't allow any other two-way players to be used as DH at the lineup screen.

So i just bought the game and am still stuck. I started a game against the Angels and Ohtani was in the rotation but not the starting pitcher for the day, yet he wasn't DHing. His name wasn't on the lineup screen and when the game loaded and started he still wasn't in the game.

Now I am using a custom roster that had him in AAA for injury but I moved him back to MLB but that shouldn't affect it I would think.
