His default position is SP with LF/RF as his secondary. When he's not pitching, he defaults into the DH spot, but when he is pitching he's not in the lineup

Is it the same thing as Babe Ruth? i couldnt change him to anything other than pitching. Also, does this mean otahni/ruth can only DH and not play OF? tried putting ruth in OF , but couldnt.

is this in Franchise mode? because from what I have read you can't do this in franchise mode

I'm happy with how they implemented Ohtani, it's perfect to have him available to DH when he's not pitching.

It's really frustrating they don't allow us to edit secondary positions for pitchers and have them available in the lineup screen. There are a host of other players that could use it.

So you can use him as DH in franchise mode? It does not let me at all unless i pinch hit him.

When you press triangle in franchise to see his player card, does the game track and show his hitting stats and pitching stats?

I'm wanting to start a franchise with Ohtani as an everyday player, not pitching.

Yes, just hit square when in the stats menu

Have you figured out to DH him yet? I keep seeing some people say it works for them but it is not working for me still.

What I've found is that he can't DH the day before and after his scheduled start. So it's actually pretty realistic in that sense.

What i figured out with him and Ruth (in play now only), is that if they are in the starting rotation by default, they will show up as DH if their rotation spot isnt that day. You can then move their positions around from the lineup screen like anyone else. I like how they implemented it .
