HUH?? I am confused you don't lose the DH or the pitcher.

    here is what you do

I send down Ramieriz the 5th starter for the angles when I want to use Ohtani on the 2 days that he will DH.

I call up Perez the Catcher for Angels./. I put him as the DH in the lineup

as soon as Perez come up to bat I pinch hit for Ohtani.; so I burn a bench spot but I really don't because Perez was just there for this to happen. you don't lose your DH and your starting pitcher is still pitching.

I then when Othani is pitching and the days he is NOT DH, I send down perez and call back up Ramerez

Done easy fix it works 100% there is no limit to sending down and calling up. and you get 8 at bats a week with ohtani at DH.

and to see batting stats for pitchers they are buried. I don't think they will come up in league leaders though, not that it matters because Ohtani won't have enough at bats to be qualified as a league leader.

All of the above though won't work if you just sim the game though you gotta. actually go into that game and do or this yourself then sim to force the CPU to use Ohtani./

So yes there is a bit of a fix and the only choice we have for now

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show

Mike Petriello tweeted Ohtani's Sprint Speed (29.9) which is the equivalent of 99 speed on MLB The Show, it's just the first week so that number could go down a bit but wouldn't change the fact that he has elite speed.

Quick Comparison with 2017 Sprint Speed Leaders:

      1. B. Buxton 30.1
      1. B. Hamilton 30.1
      2. S. Ohtani 29.9 (2018)
      2. B. Zimmer 29.9
      3. D. Gordon 29.7

Guys, this isn't a "Post everything about Ohtani thread." We have an entire MLB Forum for that where plenty of people are having the real life discussions regarding him.

This is the video game section and this thread is to discuss his impacts on the game.

Huh? I was pointing what his The Show Speed rating should be.

My bad, I missed the part at the bottom, just saw the wall of a tweet about him.

Edit: Nevermind, I was able to undelete it.

            My bad....

Checked last yrs japanese baseball game and Otani was rated a 65 for speed. Had a quick check and found someone rated an 89 so there are likely some rated higher than that.

Keith Law has him as an 80 speed on the 20-80 scale. I'd say it's safe to say the 25 rating on the game is not accurate, lol. Speed is just about the only thing that plays anywhere and it is waaaaaay off.

It stands to reason he would run faster in Japan. Between earthquakes, Godzilla. What's the chances you would find Godzilla over here or have a quake in LA. Errr nvrmind

Will this work in Franchise since you will be burning a Minor League option when sending down the pitcher and catcher unless there is a way to bypass it.

Find you a guy with 3 options that has no chance of being kept more than 2 or 3 years and that makes it a worthwhile burn

On days I wanted to DH Ohtani I'd send Shoemaker to AAA & replace him with 3rd catcher Juan Graterol. Graterol would be pencilled in to DH but would never actually bat. Ohtani would pinch-hit for Graterol immediately. When its time for Shoemakers turn in the rotation, swap him back for Graterol. There is no limit how many times you can swap the 2 during the season.

You can't. I don't think there would be a 13 page thread if we were able to.
