Shohei Otani in The Show

soooo I pinched hit for him and got a hit with him on the first swing... but that is all you can do pinch hit and burn a bench spot and he really should be able to play 1st base not the outfield if he does play a position it would be that this year

He will literally never play first base this season or probably ever lol. He has never done it in his career. If he ever played the field it would be a corner outfield spot.

Yeah. If he was going to play first base, the Angels would have had him there for at least 1 ST game.

Never say never wacky things happen in 17 inning games sometimes. you never know. didn't Ichiro end up playing 1st once?

Anyway the fix is great to have for us to use thanks to Caulfield

another minor issue is Ohtani will never show up in as a stats leader in the game even if he had 40 home runs and a average of 350 I am pretty sure it will never show pitchers as stat leaders. and his batting stats will need digging as hell just to look at

Before the 23 early release I seen Ohtani have RF/LF on his card and he was a pitcher but I guess they removed it before the 23rd.

Not ideal , but what you could do is have the real one since hes a pitcher already, then have myself, motown or someone create a decent looking backup Ohtani and make him RF/LF or even 1B/OF and do the call up and send down when you want pitch with him use the real version when u want to hit with him use the created "Batter" version.

Easy fix just change the jersey number on the days he pitches and change it back on days he doesn’t then 17 is used all the time

I commend you guys for your creativity, but these "easy" fixes and work arounds are crazy. It's ridiculous that we can't start him at DH.

When you play with the Daily Rosters, he's in the lineup as a DH. If you replace him he disappears from the lineup screen, but he is there when you start the game.

It;'s working like a charm I just call up perez have him DH. pinch hit for him in in the first innings as the DH with Ohtani. and then the 3 days angels don't use Ohtani I send down Perez and bring back Rameriz (the Angles 5th starter) use it guys it works perfect

You know what sucks though?? the commentary says "Ohtani the 2 way player'' well he is a 2 way player but NOT in your game, unless you go to the ridiculous workouts for it.

and yes sadly the infield comes up for him when you hit but that is just the way it is I guess

I’m far too lazy to micromanage this nonsense for multiple 162 game seasons. Maybe next year!

well it doesn't work if you sim of cause..

but I play every single game on the schedule in franchise mode with every team. so I make it happen. and he is hitting about 220 for me after the first week. I had a single off his first pitch (funny that happened in real life too) and a double with his 2nd at bat.. have not had a hit since though.

and he just hit a 3 run homer right now haha on live MLB network I was cheering!

he is making a case for SDS to make this damm 2 way player be a option patch it in for god sake!
