Honestly, I'm hoping they've ditched Immortals and hugely toned down the souvenir nonsense, but I'm not particularly optimistic on either front. I reckon they'll make a big thing of multiple lineups (which is good, but frankly you can't give too much praise for something every other game has had for about a decade).

More interesting offline options would be huge for me, as online is a cesspit and offline last year was pretty much just conquest. They need to bring back a reason to play 9 innings against the computer

Yeah I agree 100%. I would love some kind of offline season mode. Hell even just giving me back career missions would be HUGE. That and bring back playing teams on different difficulties to get the team rewards like the year before. Just brining those two things back would be great.

But yeah like you said, last year was awful decisions across the board so they’ve got a lot of work to do to fix that nonsense if they want me and my money back as a serious DD player. I’m all ready to go back to Franchise this year.

As an offline DD player I am looking forward to the info this week. I can't do another year of multiple Conquest runs and simply playing CPU for no other benefit except grinding missions.


I have said it many times, there is no reason that you ever really need to field your best team playing DD offline. Which doesn't give you much of a reason to grind for better players.

7 days away from the only stream that really factors in for me...I imagine a lot of buy/no buy decisions will be made by the end of the day on March 7th. Me? I'm just looking for signs of life in a certain mode that shall remain nameless.

I am interested in next week, mainly for the new mode information, but today's may be the make or break stream for me.

While I pre-ordered a while ago, tonight's stream is also the key one for me. It will ultimately determine which mode gets the bulk of my attention this year based on whether or not I like the direction they are going with things for DD. If I like the direction, I'll play a lot of DD. If I don't, I'll split my time more evenly between DD and franchise.

yep, HR Derby gonna be a blast

On that note, it's sad that HR Derby sometimes doesn't get some more love.

No announcing, can't use Retro cam, I don't even know if changing settings matters at all (aiming down vs. up, contact vs. power swing, sliders, etc.), can't change pitcher handedness or switch up a switch-hitter's handedness; can't change weather, wind or time-of-day; no day-night progression at all for that matter, no manual replay option or instant replays of note, I don't think they've done trophies for it in a half-dozen years, no kid shaggers in the outfielder (SlugFest had this haha)... the list goes on.

With rumor/speculation of a new PA announcer however, I'm looking forward to hear at least one bit of difference.

Not a rumor. A few people that played the BETA have confirmed there is a New PA announcer and he has been heard in the streams.
