I second al of these. But if these are your top 3 then I regret to inform you that you are most likely going to be dissapointed. I have a sneaky suspicion franchise is unchanged outside of contract extensions.

I know your right. I can almost guarantee its Contract Extensions only, that is why franchise got a small amount of time as part of another stream. It is what it is. Amazing graphics but its silly that as the years pass realism goes away. Why can All Star Baseball a game made 15 years ago have expansion, stadium builds, rotating interleague schedules yet a game on a much more advance system cannot do this. It is beyond me. To much on line play. Im sorry if I pay 60 dollars for a game I'm not going to keep paying for things like Diamond Dynasty. But that's just me

If SDS wants to look at how to make a deep and fun franchise mode all they have to do is look at NBA 2K19. Not to take a shot at the development team at SDS, but the guys at 2K listen to their fan base and improve every game play mode in the game each year.

If SDS wants to look at how to make a deep and fun franchise mode all they have to do is look at NBA 2K19. Not to take a shot at the development team at SDS, but the guys at 2K listen to their fan base and improve every game play mode in the game each year.

I agree but 2K is in a league of their own no sports game is on their level IMO.

They also have a much larger development team and, I assume, a bigger budget since they release on all platforms and not just one.

They were not always there. For years nba live ruled. They built their product over the years.

They also have a competing game in NBA Live. Which is almost certainly why NBA2K has the acclaimed franchise mode that it does. Just like Madden before it, The Show completely became stagnant as soon as it no longer had a viable competitor.

They also also do a lot more microtransactions than SDS does for The Show. I like how much I'm still able to get out of this game (and some others) for free, but this DLC & F2P digital world we now live in makes all games at launch date very minimalistic for the consumer.

Plus, didn't 2K just purchase an exclusive license with the NBA? I think Live is out again. I really wish they would just let EA have its title and focus on getting a football game back out there again.

I do agree that competition breeds excellence, though. Not just from a motivational standpoint, but the ideas that are thrown into the mix are good for both sides as well. When I went into their studios there was a monitor with 2K11 running a CPU vs. CPU game. They take notes all of the time. No one is stopping them from making a baseball game again (or Microsoft), but without competition they do hit some stale points for sure.

I'm still super excited to hear about the defense and hitting changes though, provided all of the control aspects aren't simply related to RTTS and the PCI.

For those of you praising 2K’s franchise modes this year... don’t. It’s very broken. That’s one area where Live hasn’t tried to compete, and it shows in 2K19.

Broken how? Seems a lot better than most. Sure the AI isn't perfect but the depth is unmatched to any other major sports games. What other sports games have more depth than nba 2k?

I don't play NBA games, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there were no microtransactions in NBA2K's franchise/GM mode? I know their create a player mode is loaded with them though.

Free agency is completely broken. To start, no elite players ever reach UFA. There’s also an issue where good UFAs go unsigned because the CPU doesn’t handle its cap correctly.

Deep? Sure. Broken? Unfortunately.

I've been a bit thick so hadn't noticed until now, but isn't 11am on a Thursday (on Valentines day as well) an incredibly strange time to do a livestream? Can't imagine they'll get that many people watching, unless it's only college kids and the unemployed that they are aiming it at?

It's at 7pm over here so I'll probably be out at dinner and will watch it later.(no wifey I can't take you out on Valentines day, Ramone is going to tell me about the new fielding. Divorce? Why?)

I guess that's one way to cut down on the abuse they get in the chat, but defeats the point of a livestream a bit to put it on at a time when the vast majority of people can't watch it?
