I'm 100% in favor of player attributes meaning more on defense but they tried something similar and got push back from users who lean less toward realism than wanting every play to be made perfectly.

After about a dozen or so patches they got mlbts in franchise manage mode playing great. Best baseball game I've ever played. Best case scenario is whoever worked on gameplay patches is who is working on overhauling gameplay for mlbts 19.

March 7 franchise mode update is what I'll be waiting for.

Do you really consider the PA announcer part of the broadcasting crew? Seems like a stretch.

No way is the Pa announcer apart of the crew. He works for the local team and stadium not the boardcast crew.

Yes it is obvious they don't have many new features to show in a franchise stream. You'd think if they had made improvements to trade logic or how teams operate (rebuilding vs trying to win) they would be wanting to showcase what that looks like.

At this point it looks like they polished off the franchise turd with contract extensions, but its still a turd...

I'm really hoping that "March to October" is a rebrand of franchise mode similar how to Madden changed names and went to CFM. I don't know if that being correct means good or bad but I'll guess we will find out.

THIS. Please be this. It’s my last hope. I don’t want to trash all of the reveals because the gameplay improvements look amazing, but I really am hoping for you to be right.

My thinking about it maybe being true is that diamond dynasty doesn’t have a dedicated stream... the stream is for DD content not improvements. The DD improvements are footnotes for the new moments mode. It’s most likely that RTO is just a season mode type thing but I really hope I’m wrong.

ALSO we can’t forget about GameStop Monday’s...

I read too much guessing game stuff, but could March to October be referring to the months? You know, the same ones a baseball season is mainly known for. And let me be the first to say March to November doesn't have the same ring to it...

CFM is what killed madden and they have never fixed it since. they took away 32 team control, yes I know there is a way of having 32 team control but you literary have to spend 1 hour creating 32 different profiles to switch and change to even start a season with 32 team control why?? because that mode was designed for single player online! so they just put a quick fix for 32 team control people. it completely got stripped. I fear MLB the show will go down the same route if they start merging features.

That's the first thing I thought when I read it. Which implies some type of season mode since November to February covers all the off-season stuff.

I am looking around and don't see any mention if you purchase the MVP edition or above editions that you get the game on Friday March 22nd. I know in the past this was the case at Gamestop, etc. Anyone know?

I for one just need a refreshed UI and I'm good. Put some of the things I click on in slightly different places on the screen is all I ask.


All kidding aside, the franchise mode player's best case outcome right now seems to be...

(1) hope for substantial upgrades in ratings/gameplay and perhaps...just maybe even new ratings for defense
(2) hope for better commentary and more dynamic/situational commentary that shows the game is keeping track of your save
(3) hope that contract extensions are a piece of revamping contracts in general (greater than 10 years, greater than $31M/yr, escalating, de-escalating, flat, a better bonus/buyout system)...hope they don't add contract extensions only to screw up the implementation or unbalance something else...
(4) hope for a half-dozen improvements in AI/logic that are too minor for them to even list on the stream schedule


I am still playing OOTP in February so it's no great loss to me if I end up skipping The Show 2 years running.

EDIT: I'll also say that I knew there was a video (and probably a stream schedule) coming today and this was something like the 3rd forum I visited on OS today. Kind of shows to me that my expectation/excitement level is pretty doggone low unfortunately.

What I really want is just franchise mode based

Rotation of interleague
And a budget system that is difficult but understanding. Like nba2k in my opinion. But with the obvious baseball rules

Here it's just a part of what's being covered on March 7th. If this is, in fact, the case. It could mark the beginning of the end for me with this game, which would be tremendously sad. For years, and years, and years, and years (I along with many on here), have watched as franchise mode has gotten virtually no attention. The last 2-3 years have been especially bad with the new, "features," simply being options and menu's, "brought to the forefront." Not even new features, but literally just menu's moved around. If this year it goes untouched, which I expect it to, and it isn't a main focus of one of their streams... God help us offline franchisers...
