I know what you mean.......my franchise has alot of young talent that just has me not putting the controller down.
But to credit the game, the presentation is really good this year, if only the commentary was improved better.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

One thing that I have done a few times in my White Sox Franchise is watch the Wild Card games as well as the Game 5 in the Division Series and Game 7s. So I decided I will do that again here in the 2022 season.

First up was the NL Wild Card Game against the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals. Braves had Mike Soroka on the mound against Jack Flaherty for the Cards.

The Braves took 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning. But the Cards came back with 1 in the 3rd and 2 in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead that would stand til the 9th when the Braves put up a 6 spot, in which the Cards could not answer. So the Braves move on to face the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS.

Quick recap of the NL game below.

I agree man. I was telling a buddy the other day that I think this is the most fun I've had with Franchise mode in a couple years. Yes, last year I had a lot of fun, but this year is just different. The upped difficulty really makes it fun and satisfying when I win and heartbreaking when I lose.

That's a really good idea. I'm assuming you made this graphic that you posted? If so, it's really good. Nice job on that.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

              Just to recap my stream:

Played game 2 of the series vs the Dodgers. Went down 5-0 early, but in the 5th inning I started a 1 out rally with a bloop base hit by Harrison Bader that turned into a 5 run inning tying the game. It remained that way until the 8th inning when the Dodgers etched across a 6th run with a Sac fly. In the 9th, Jansen came in and walked the first batter. I got Eric Thames up with 2 outs and I absolutely crushed a hanging slider 109 MPH dead center of my PCI... foul... I didn't really get another solid pitch to hit and ended up striking out looking to end the game losing 6-5.

After the game, I accidentally hit the wrong button before saving my progress and ended up simming the final game of the series in which my team lost 9-6. Oh well I suppose, it's only the second time I've accidentally simmed a game this season, so I can get over it.

Finished up the stream by playing the first of a three game set vs the Pirates. It was a thriller once again, and we went to extra innings. I finally came through in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 10th with a ball that went off the wall in right center field from Goldschmidt. 4-3 was the final.

From now on, I may try using that game-recapper website instead of posting four paragraphs, lol. Thanks to everyone who joined in on the stream, it was a fun one and I'll be streaming again later on tonight. Will post an update when I go live again.

                  2022 White Sox Franchise

AL Wild Card had the Minnesota Twins traveling to Baltimore to take on the Orioles. Jose Berrios on the mound for Minnesota and Dylan Bundy taking the ball for Baltimore.

Each starter had shutouts going until the 6th when Baltimore SS Mason McCoy finally broke the 0-0 dead lock with an RBI single off Minnesota reliever Taylor Rogers after Berrios was lifted after letting a guy on base. Baltimore would add on anyway in the 7th with a 3 Run HR from Ryon Healy and another on a solo homer from Gavin Cecchini in the 8th. Minnesota could never answer as Bundy and the Orioles bullpen shut them out on six hits.

Baltimore moves on to face the White Sox in the ALDS.

Pitching Match-ups for our upcoming series against Baltimore

Game 1: Carlos Carrasco vs Gabriel Ynoa
Game 2: Michael Kopech vs Robert Thomas
Game 3: Omar Salgado vs Dylan Bundy
                  Game 4 (If Necessary): TBA
                  Game 5 (If Necessary): TBA

Below is quick recap of the AL Wild Card Game between Minnesota and Baltimore

Cards take 2 of 3 from Pirates. Within 4 games

Cardinals won 2 games of the 3 games series against the Pirates to move to within 4 games of the Pirates for first place in the NL Central. Cardinals got good starts from Luke Weaver and Jack Flaherty. Unfortunately, Carlos Martinez struggled again allowing 8 runs on 8 hits in only 5 innings of work. Martinez has now dropped his last 2 decisions, and 3 of his last 4. His ERA has ballooned to over 5.

In the 2 wins the Cardinals bats were hot, but unfortunately in game 2, Chris Archer shut them down striking out 11 thru 8 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on just 5 hits. In the series finale the Cardinals beat up Jameson Taillon smashing 4 homeruns against him.

The Cards are off Monday and will return home for 6 games hosting the D'Backs for 3 and then these same Pirates next weekend.

                      Cards June schedule:

                      3 vs ARZ
                      3 vs PIT
                      3 @ ARZ
                      4 @ COL
                      2 vs MIN
                      4 vs WSH
                      4 vs PHI
                      3 @ CHC

                      Injuries strike the Cardinals...again

The Cardinals saw two more players join the injured list during the Pirates series. Kolten Wong left game 2 with a sprained wrist suffered diving for a baseball in the 4th inning. In the series finale Corey Ray strained his groin during a RBI triple. Both men were placed on the 10 Day IL, although Ray could miss longer than the 10 days.

The Cardinals are scheduled to have Troy Tulowitzki back for the start of the D'Back series which helps ease the blow Wong's injury placed upon the club. Not sure who the Cardinals will recall from Memphis to take over Ray's open roster spot. Kyle Waldrop was called up during Fabregas' stay on the IL, but he struggled his 10 days or so on the MLB roster.

                      Cardinals IL list:

                      10 DAY IL

Troy Tulowitzki - Shoulder - Due back June 3rd
                      Kolten Wong - Wrist - 2 weeks
                      Corey Ray - Groin - 2-3 weeks

                      60 DAY IL

Michael Wacha - Torn Pectoral - 1-2 months (Hoping to be activated during All-Star Break)
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
