Furthermore having just spectated every game in the entire postseason, there was not a single injury. Not one! Which tells me there’s probably no code to allow that to happen if there’s not an actual human to complete the in game process

Wow! No **** huh?! Never seen it myself. How’d they script out the shift? Just curious. Was there just a brief text box, or did the announcers explain it all?

2024 White Sox Franchise - Opening Day

White Sox open the season at Kansas City with Omar Salgado on the mound for the Sox against Trevor Oaks for the Royals.

Cheslor Cuthbert opens the scoring for KC early in the bottom half of the 1st with a RBI single. 1-0 KC

Sox would quickly answer with a Luther Hightower double in the top half of the second. Tied 1-1

Cuthbert would strike again in the 3rd for the Royals with a RBI double. 2-1 KC

KC would take the 2-1 lead into the 8th inning but after intentionally walking CWS 2B Luis Urias the bases loaded in the 8th to set up possible inning ending DP with Jose Abreu at the plate. Abreu would hit a Sac Fly to tie the game at 2 a piece.

In the top half of the 9th Chicago 2B Hayden McClendon would hit a first pitch curveball left right down the middle with 1 out in the inning deep to left field well out of the park for the go ahead homer to give the Sox their first lead in the ball game. 3-2 CWS

Sox closer Patrick McKenzie would close out the bottom half of the 9th in order, striking out 2 for his first save of the year. Sox win opening day 3-2

Archie Bradley getting the win for Chicago and Eric Stout getting the loss for KC.

You get a pop up box like you do when your player is injured

Stabilizing The Ship - A Pittsburgh Pirates Franchise
            Opening Day 2019

Cincinnati, OH - Opening Day 2019 is upon us, as the Cincinnati faithful wait here on the riverbanks of the Ohio River for another year of Reds Baseball. It's a tradition old as time, and the Pirates are here to open up the 2019 Season here in Cincinnati. Both teams are pegged to be basement dwellers, but if you ask any of them, it's the first one that matters most.

The Pirates will bring the lineup we've come to know them for in Spring Training to Great American Ballpark up north with them, but it will feature a new face behind home plate. After a strong spring, Elias Diaz has earned the starting role behind the dish for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Led by Jameson Taillon on the mound, here's how the Bucs lineup to kick off the 2019 Season:

            SS: Kevin Newman
            CF: Starling Marte
            LF: Corey Dickerson
            1B: Josh Bell
            RF: Melky Cabrera
            3B: Colin Moran
            C: Elias Diaz
            2B: Adam Frazier
            P: Jameson Taillon

Meanwhile on the other side of the field, the Reds will be trotting out Luis Castillo. Castillo, who has shown flashes of greatness in prior years with the Reds gets the start on Opening Day, where he hopes his lighting fast fastball, and devastating circle change can keep Pirate hitters at bay. Taking a page out of the book of "Fan Goodwill", the Reds broke camp with Top Prospect, Nick Senzel on the team, he'll bat second for the Reds this afternoon. the usual suspects, Joey Votto and Eugenio Suarez will both get the start as well. Here's how the rest of the Reds lineup:

            SS: Jose Peraza
            CF: Nick Senzel
            1B: Joey Votto
            3B: Eugenio Suarez
            RF: Yasiel Puig
            LF: Jesse Winkler
            2B: Derek Dietrich
            C: Ticker Barnhart
            P: Luis Castillo

We'll follow up with a recap of Opening Day, but for now, baseball fans, enjoy your New Years Day!

*as info, I'll be playing Opening Day in Cincy and Opening Day in Pittsburgh over the first 2 series

              2024 White Sox Franchise - Game 2

Michael Kopech on the mound to start for the Sox and Brian Ka for the Royals

Ever have any games that you think will never end? This was one of those...

The game with a 1:10 PM start time lasted a whole 26 innings and was getting close to being dark by the time it ended.

Not only did the game last 26 innings, it was scoreless until the 26th inning.

Both teams used every arm in the pen and had to bring in a Starter.

Sox would score 3 runs in the 26th on RBI double by 2B Hayden McClendon, and RBI singles by C Seby Zavala and 3B Jeremy Ramirez. 3-0 CWS

Sox Closer Patrick McKenzie got the win but since he had already thrown 2 innings the Sox decided to bring in starter Carlos Carrasco for the save. Brad Keller got the loss for KC.

Now the Sox will have to decide who they will send down to make room for a couple fresh bullpen arms for tomorrow's series finale, as almost all the bullpen arms pitched at least 2 innings.

This just happened in my Cubs franchise game earlier today. Robbie Ray of the D'backs took a liner off his noggin and went down like a sack of potatoes! He had to be replaced in game.

                  Seattle Mariners Franchise: 2020
                  MLB(R) The Show(TM) 19_16.jpg
                  ***April Recap***
                  • 19-11 (17-8 in April)
                  • 1st in AL West
                  • Best record in American League based on win % (.633)

Despite some key players from last year struggling at the plate and on the mound the Mariners find themselves leading the AL west. Seattle finished the month of April winning 11 of their last 12 games. Seattle success can largely be linked to their fielders, a strong bullpen that often keeps the team in games when the starters falter.

Yusei Kikuchi (4-0, ERA 1.11, 37 SO) and Chris Archer (4-1, ERA 3.60, SO 39) have been standouts of an other struggling starting rotation. At the plate off-season addition Marcell Ozuna hasn't set the world on fire but has a respectable stat line (BA .252, HR 4, RBI 10). The engine driveing the Mariners offense has to be long time third baseman Kyle Seager who caries a stat line of (BA .282, HR 7, RBI 23) and has come through with multiple clutch performances. Not to be outdone is the seemingly ageless DH Edwin Encarnacion who at 37 years of age shows no signs of slowing down (BA .282, HR 6, RBI 18).

On a less positive note starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc struggled after only managing 11.1 innings in 3 starts and carrying an ERA of 9.53 in his 3 starts. LeBlanc was sent down to the minor leagues where his struggles continue and is expected to be traded pending the right offer.

To close the Mariners were involved in a 3 team trade with the Rays and Blue Jays that brought in SP Marcus Stroman, C Mike Zunino and SS Jose Peraza.

                  ***Roster Moves***
                  • Via trade acquired SP Marcus Stroman and SS Jose Peraza (Toronto) and C Mike Zunino (Tampa Bay)
                  • Traded away 1B Ryon Healy, RP Brandon Brennan, and 3B Dylon Moore (Tampa Bay) C Tom Murphy and SS J.P Crawford (Toronto)

                  • Called Up SP Andrew Moore and CF Braden Bishop
                  • Placed SP Erik Swanson on optional waivers
                  • Signed Free Agent SP Manuel Tejada and 1B Eric Cabrera to minor league contracts

                  ***Injuries***

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

Well, I was doing well until the latest Seattle series. won the first game, then my bullpen let me down in the last two games.

Well, that and the fact that I suddenly cant not swing at low pitches out of the zone. (anyone knows a batting camera that is good for recognizing balls low but not sacrificing balls out of the zone up?

                    I'm currently using fisheye 2.

Back to the series... now after losing two in a row, I get to take on the two toughest teams in my on division for seven games... first off is the Houston Astros who sit tied with the Angels at four games back in second place. Oh did I mention that I take on the Angels right after the three-game series in Houston?

I could conceivably lose a combined nine straight games here. that is of course including my current two-game losing streak. Here are the pitching matchups for the series in Houston.

                    Game #1

                    Daniel Mengden (4-0 1.26) Vs. Gerrit Cole (4-0, 3.03)

                    Game #2

Jharel Cotton (2-1, 3.63) Vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (3-1, 4.06)

                    Game #3

                    Drew Smyly (4-0 0.67) Vs. Cristian Page (2-1, 6.14)

If my offense can't get out of the current funk they are in (only two hits in our last game against Seattle) we might be in serious trouble.

                      Postseason baseball is finally here!

BREAKING NEWS: Yankees Make History Winning 117th game.
This 2019 Yankees squad has now cemented itself as one of if not the greatest in MLB history, passing the 2001 Seattle Mariners for the single season wins record. How did they do it? First, we swept a Rays team in 2 that seemed to play with little life and energy after a disastrous stretch that saw them go 1-11, which eliminated them from WC contention. To the Rangers credit, they put up a fight. First they walked off on us in the 10th, winning 5-4. Then we had to score 5 runs in the final 2 innings to rally for a win in game 2. We did win comfortably in the finale, 8-3.

The streak stays alive. He has now finished with a 247 BA for 5 straight years. If you can count on anything in life, it’s Davis hitting for a 247 average.

Meanwhile, we will now await the winner of the AL WC Game. More on that later...

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm absolutely in love with this game right now. My goal every season is to play every game. Outside of MLB 12, I've always come up short. With 36 games to go in 2019, I'm confident I'll knock out two full seasons.

Latest game, playoff atmosphere at SunTrust Park. The Braves have MLB's best record, but the Dodgers are right behind them. The Dodgers took two of three in LA back in May and won the opener at SunTrust, 8-2. And now I have my ace, Folty, on the mound against LA's fifth starter, Julio Urias, who was just recalled from AAA. So as much as a regular-season game in August can feel like a must-win, this felt like a must-win.

Bellinger gave LA a 1-0 lead with a mammoth homer in the second. But Folty settled in and the offense got us a 4-1 lead after five. Top sixth and Folty gives up a single and a ground-rule double. Turner is up. We get to 3-2 and I try a slider away, but he takes it. So now the bases are loaded with no outs. Folty has pitched well and his pitch count is in the 60s. Tempting to let him try to get out of it, but with Muncy, Bellinger and Pederson coming up, I go to Venters.

Venters was absolutely awful for me early in the season. Then he seemed to find his groove, but his last couple of outings had been a little shaky. But the Dodgers have three lefties coming up and I need that sinker to get a double-play ball.

Unfortunately, Venters had no command of that sinker on this night. Three straight sinkers to start off to Muncy. Three straight balls. Now what? I throw a get-me over slider that he takes for a strike. I throw another slider that he takes for a second strike. I have pitch confidence turned off, but I don't need it to know I have no confidence in the sinker. Come back with another slider? I decide to go high fastball. If he's looking for it, the Dodgers will have the lead. But he's not. Swing and a miss, one out. Whew!

Now Bellinger is up. I go back to the sinker. Three pitches later, I'm right back at a 3-0 count. I throw another get-me over slider. Thank goodness he's taking all the way, because it's a hanger. I throw another slider that Bellinger fouls off. Not going to tempt fate with another high fastball, so I throw another slider. He hits a liner to left, but DeShields gets to it easily and the Dodgers aren't about to test his arm. Two out, still no runs have scored.

I start Pederson off with a sinker. Another ball. I'm done with that pitch. I throw a fastball for a strike, then I throw him a slider. He rolls on top of it and hits a weak grounder to first. Freddie handles it easily and I'm out of the inning with my 4-1 lead intact. I pump my fist and yell "you go Jonny Venters!"

Winkler, Viz and Kimbrel take it from there and the Braves hang on for a 4-1 win. Easily the most fun game I've had, and I've had a lot of fun ones this year.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

I am my own worst enemy. Why do you ask? it is simple my dear show players. I have a serious and I do mean serious tendency to not be able to get out o my way when it comes to overthinking things and that is when things go off the rails for me.

take last night for example after leaving here I started to go into batting practice and find a new camera view... should have NEVER done it. once I got back into my franchise all did was swing, swing, and swing again.

Which lead me to rage quitting once again...

I could have been anxious or tired or both.. not sure.. but whatever it was my stress level was way out of control. I think it is seriously time to have my doctor reconsider putting me on the anxiety meds they gave me after my heart surgery...

I never knew what anxiety was or felt like until I was told that I was a very anxious person by my surgeon.

well, ok time for me to get ready for cardio rehab this morning... I will get games in today that is the goal.

My first bunch of games on AS was fun, slightly stressful but not bad. Of course, I think that was when I wasn't losing lol.. once I started to lose that is when everything came unglued.

the only thing I can do is get back up after being dusted off the plate and grind my foot into the dirt and stare down the pitcher and say.. "is that all you got? let me show you just who I am, and what I'm capable of. "

Then I strike out on a ball out of the zone with the bases loaded and curse uncontrollably and fake throw my controller through the wall or tv or both...

Stabilizing The Ship - A Pittsburgh Pirates Franchise

Pirates Take 2 of 3 from Reds to Open Up 2019 Season

Pittsburgh, PA - If the Pirates were looking to take this year, and turn it into the beginning of a rebuilding process, the opening weekend of 2019 told a completely different story. Yes, while the Pirates looked handcuffed by Luis Castillo through the first 6 innings of Thursday's Opening Day game, the Home Run Explosion that ensued over the remainder of the weekend was a complete 180 from what could possibly be explained as "Opening Day Jitters".

Led by an excellent outing of 6 innings from Jameson Taillon, the Pirates staked out to a 2-1 lead heading into the 8th inning, following solo shots from Colin Moran and Starling Marte in the 6th and 7th respectively. The Pirates exploded for 5 runs in the 8th, paced by a RBI groundout from Bryan Reynolds, a solo shot from Starling Marte, and a 3-run bomb from Kevin Newman, the first of his career. While Kyle Crick gave back four of those runs in the bottom half, Melky Cabrera got one back in the 9th with a solo shot of his own, and Felipe Vasquez closed it down for the Opening Day victory for the Pirates.

In Game 2 of the series, Trevor Williams was fantastic, outside of his 3rd Inning, which he almost certainly will want back, as the Reds tug him for 3 runs, eventually pegging him with a loss. Tanner Roark turned in 8 fantastic innings for the Reds and earned the 4-2 win.

In Game 3, Joe Musgrove returned the favor, by throwing 7 solid innings for the Pirates, who were paced by another solid offensive outing from Starling Marte, and welcomed appearances by Josh Bell and Corey Dickerson to the party. The Pirates held on for the 7-2 win to take 2 of 3 from the Redlegs, and head home to Pittsburgh for their home opener with a 2-1 record.

The Pirates will send Chris Archer to the mound to face Dakota Hudson of the St. Louis Cardinals. Archer, whom has been vocal of his excitement to start the 2019 season, traveled home to Pittsburgh last night, ahead of the team, to ensure that he would be well rested for today's Home Opener. The Pirates will look to continue their good fortunes from the first series of the season through to their second at home against their division foes from the Gateway City.

Cardinals claim Sandy Alcantara off waivers from Blue Jays

The Cardinals have claimed SP Sandy Alcantara off optional waivers from the Blue Jays. The 27 year old was activated from the IL due to shoulder issues, and was immediately placed on optional waivers.

Alcantara has struggled at the Blue Jays the past two seasons going 4-13 with a 6.76 ERA, but the Cardinals are high on his potential and makeup and feel that he can reach his potential under Derrick Lilliquist.

Alcantara came up thru the Cardinals organization before being traded to the Blue Jays 3 years ago.

Alcantara will join the Cardinals 25 man roster and likely take the spot of Drew Harrington who is expected to be optioned to the minors as he tries to work through his own production problems this season.

I really thought this was going to have a MUCH different ending as I as no-hit for seven-plus innings in this game. if it would have been my fate to be ho hit in this game... would have been my first time being no-hit since MVP 05. Losing streak now at three games.
