I claimed Santiago Casilla off waivers from Oakland in 2018 and he was awesome in my pen. Re-signed him in 2019 for 1yr $600k

I look forward to seeing what he can do during this season for our bullpen. Hoping he can add a spark to what appears to be a fairly lackluster part of my roster.

So I am looking to do 2 different franchises this year. One of them with be with the Chicago Cubs (my favorite team) and with the second team I am wanting a bit of a challenge maybe a young talented team. Anyone with an ideal let me know. I will be playing every game in both franchise's

A couple teams with young pieces that I consider contenders for the postseason but aren’t world beaters: Twins, Rays, Braves, I’d also say Phillies could fit this (I know, seems insane with their offense) because their rotation is just not that great and I think their defensive woes might cause some struggles. That’s about all I got lol. They’re all young teams with plenty of talent, and a few good value veterans.

If you’re interested in contenders/fringe contenders (again, not world beaters) that aren’t necessarily focused on youth I’d say Cleveland fits that albeit they may win the central again (stellar rotation, above average bullpen, huge outfield deficit, black holes at catcher, injury to Lindor) but they aren’t dominant by any means. I’d also say Seattle could be interesting. Colorado. If you’re interested in another NL central team, I vote Pittsburgh. Their offense is lackluster but they have a good rotation and bullpen, with an elite closer, and solid defense.

I do like the idea of the Braves with the young core they have as well as the young pitching they have in the farm system and your right Phillies could be a good project with trying to build good pitching. Great ideas you have with the teams for me to think about thanks.

MLB the Show 19 - Baltimore Orioles Franchise

After starting May on a good note we begin a very difficult stretch of schedule, consisting of 20 consecutive games including a weekend road trip to Colorado bookended by two home series.

We drop the first series 2 games to 1 at home to Trout and the Angels. Our one win came on a very strong start from Alex Cobb, who took a shutout into the 9th before yielding to Kimbrel who locked up the save. Cobb is 2-0 in his last two starts, yielding just a single run to go with 9 K’s in 13.1 IP. If he keeps it up I might be able to actually find a suitor for him at the deadline.

That game was followed by a heartbreaker, a 6-5 loss to the Yankees in the Bronx. A game-tying, pinch hit, 450 foot home run from the beleaguered Chris Davis wasn’t enough to rally the troops as the bullpen surrendered the lead in the 8th.

Starting 2B Jonathan Villar is quietly having a good season, batting .299/.366/.435 with 4 HR and 22 SB, which leads the majors. He would bring back a decent haul should I decide to move him at the deadline, however he is still just 27 and would remain under team control for 2020 so there is potentially some reason to keep him around.

AA Bowie Baysox closer Zach Pop is a perfect 12/12 in save opportunities and has yet to yield a run this season. The 22-year old righty was part of the haul from LAD for Manny Machado and is having the strongest season of any of my pitching prospects.

In the last game of June 2019, with only 19 pitches and 2 1/3 innings pitched in the game, Kershaw goes down with his second injury of the season; an abdominal strain which will leave him out for a few days. The Dodgers (60-26) will keep him active and see how he is feeling when his number is called up again in the rotation.

The win ended up being a bullpen game as Hill, Floro, Smith and Jansen all took the mound with Floro picking up his 6th win of the season and Jansen his 29th save in the 2-0 game.

RP Andrew Dorward of the Tulsa Drillers also went down with an injury tearing a pectoral muscle and was placed on the 60 Day IL.

Heading into July the Dodgers hold onto the best record in baseball and a 9.5 game lead in the West over the Machado led Giants.

                  Fantasy Braves.

Swept Arizona 6-2, 6-2, 6-3. Albies, Donaldson, Hougard homered in game one. Camargo in game 2, and Mike Will came off the bench with a 3 run tie breaking walk off in the bottom of the 9th in game 3. Evened my record at 10-10. Acuna has yet to hit a homer in 18 games. Mike Will, whose attributes are (hitting) 40/51 and (power) 43/50 is crushing the ball .395 avg., leads the team with six homers. He plays first and left, will give Acuna a long break even though his fielding is sub par.

So, we stroll into Cleveland. (30 team control) so Wiitgren got a spot start because of an injury to Clevinger, and goes 5 innings giving up 2 runs, 6 hits, strikeouts out 4 with one walk. Martin and Ramirez go back to back against Joel Benjamin, I drop the game 4-2. I LOVE THIS GAME.

                  The pre pitch presentation......wow.

As OSFM rosters are about to drop, I'm trying to decide a team to play with. I'd really like to do either a full rebuild team, or a team that is on the verge of a rebuild but could at least compete in season 1.

I know the full rebuild teams are primarily the Marlins and Orioles, but are there any other suggestions for rebuild teams or teams on the verge of rebuilding?

                    Thanks for the help!

I am going to run with the Cleveland Indians because I feel like I could be a buyer or seller at the deadline depending on how the season goes. I know they aren’t necessarily on the verge of a rebuild but I think it would be a good fit for what you are looking for

I was considering the Indians, so that is very helpful.

After being swept by the A’s to end April, I started off May by sweeping the Angels. Sitting third in the AL East with a 18-15 record I couldn’t be happier with the way the game plays and the types of games I’m having. Here is a look at the lineup:

Socrates Brito RF- batting .300 in 50 ABs with a few steals and good defence he has really found his own on my team, either starting or coming off the bench

Teoscar Hernandez LF - batting around .280 with 5 HR he has solidified himself in the two hole on a nightly basis.

Vlad Guerrero Jr 3B - batting a ridiculous .429 In three series since the call up with 3 homers he is here to stay.

Justin Smoak 1B - batting around .300 with 9 HR and over 20 RBI he has been my best hitter this year. Might even think about extending him if this continues.

DH Rowdy Tellez - hitting exclusively against RHP he is hitting .333 with 3 homers and 12 RBI. Regular in the 5-spot.

CF Randal Grichuck - batting .210 with 5 homers he has been homer or nothing. A lot of strikeouts have been an issue.

2B/OF Brandon Drury - another guy batting close to .300 with regular doubles and 1 HR. He has been between the 7 spot and lead off and playing all over the field.

RF/CF Carlos Gomez - hitting .260 with a consistent bat and fielding he has forced my hand for regular rotation of the outfielders

DH Evan Gattis - batting exclusively against LHP and the rare backup catching duty he has hit just under .300 with regular doubles but no homers. Good compliment to Tellez

IF Lourdes Gurriel - his bat has been slow with a .211 average and he has committed a lot of errors. Bouncing all over the IF he has been a utility player for me.

C Danny Jansen - hitting .240 with 8 RBI and a few clutch hits he has been a good regular catcher for this staff.

Minors who have spent time in the majors:

Billy McKinny - spent two weeks on the IL and has struggled with the bat. With the emergence of Gomez and Brito, he is in the minors to get his stroke back.

UTL Alan Hanson - hitting under .200 he has played all over the field but no room for him at this time.

Anthony Alford - played two games when McKinny went down but went 1/8 and was sent back down.

Like Maile. Went 1/12 to start the year and was demoted for the Gattis signing.

                          Rotation:
Stroman, Shoemaker and Bucholtz have been solid all around. Stroman and Sanchez are both on the IL but shouldn’t miss more than one start. Pannone and Richard are in the rotation for now.

Borucki and Sanchez have been variable and have shown signs of brilliance while also being terrible the next game. Richard has been very good so he may take over for Borucki who could move to the bullpen when Sanchez and Stroman are back.

                          Bullpen:
The bullpen as a whole have been my strongest point. Giles has been lights out. Tepera and Norris have shut down the 7/8 innings. Phelps is just back from the DL and made his first appearance last game which was scoreless. Law has been very good since the trade and Hudson has been very reliable.

Mayza, Barnes, Biagini have been very solid but have been up and down on the bus from AAA to the majors depending on fatigue and what not.

Thornton should be in the majors but there is no room for him so he will await the next injury in the minors getting regular game action. Axford has been lights out as the AAA closer but again no room. Luciano was sent back to his original team.

Looking forward to more of the same this month. Still unsure if I’ll be contending or struggling more come the deadline. If I’m struggling, my vets will be shipped out. If competing I’ll look to upgrade the squad for the playoffs.

All- Star Hitting. HOF Pitching. I am seeing great results. Currently 28-20 with the Halos playing every game. Team rankings are all good in terms of not dominating or getting dominated. Once I feel it gets easy I find myself losing 3 out of 4 so its been fun.

Quick question. Anyone else seeing attributes drop at a quick rate? Pujols is -4 in every attribute which I get but Trout is -1 in quite a few and a bunch more players have attributes dropping quick with very few seeing positive gains.

Down 7-3 with 2 outs in the top of the 9th, the New York Mets scored 6 runs, 4 on a Michael Conforto grand slam, to stun the Atlanta Braves 9-7 in the mid-April series finale.

Seriously, one of the craziest comebacks I've ever had in The Show. Mets are 9-3 on the young 2020 season.

After starting out the season red hot and sweeping the Mariners in Seattle and banging out homeruns and scoring a lot of runs, the Cardinals went to Philly to face the rebuilding Phillies for 3 games. We were swept. We scored a total of 4 runs in this series, while the Phillies scored 23. The Cardinals backend of the rotation (Reyes and Leake) along with the bullpen (everybody) got absolutely rocked by Phillies' hitters.

The Cardinals will look to lick their wounds and stop the bleeding in Cincinnati against the Reds. The Reds currently lead the NL Central at 5-4 and spent this offseason putting a team together that can get them back into the postseason.

The game of baseball will absolutely humble you.
