    2026 White Sox Franchise - All-Star Break

Haven't updated this season yet, taken few weeks off and then been playing a lot lately. This will probably be last season in MLB 19. Will transfer to MLB 20.

Sox hit the All-Star Break at 70-21.

We had 6 All-Stars this season. Rookie 1B Fernando Villarreal, SP Omar Salgado, SP Andre Simons, DH Javier Estrada, RF Eloy Jimenez, and CP Patrick McKenzie.

MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

The win streak extends to 7 games as the Dodgers (86-33) sweep the Nationals (53-66) in 4 games by scores of 2-0, 4-1, 5-4 and 5-3. Game 3 ended with back to back home runs in the bottom of the 9th as Joc Pederson hit a 2 run bomb to tie the game 4-4 which was then followed up with the winning solo shot by Austin Barnes on the very next pitch. The Dodgers bench received plenty of playing time as the management saw an opportunity to rest the every day players in 2 of the games.

Cody Bellinger’s 15 game hitting streak ended in game 3 as he flied out during his pinch hit appearance.

Colton Stern, Clayton Kershaw, Dylan Floro and Julio Urias all notched wins while Kenley Jansen earned saves 34 and 35 on the year.

After a a much needed day off from playing 13 games in 13 days, the Dodgers host the Astros (69-50), winners of 8 out of their last 10, for 2 games.

        Projected pitching matchups are:
        Game 1: Ross Stripling (13-3, 2.83) v Reynaldo Lopez (11-5, 3.69)
        Game 2: Stern (14-5, 2.59) v Brady Rodgers (8-7, 2.94)

RP Scott Alexander was sent to the 60 IL after fracturing his wrist in a relief appearance. Justin Turner is expected to return from the IL and a broken forearm following the Astros series. No moves will made to fill the empty roster slot for the few days due to the bull pen having carried an extra pitcher all season.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

The Dodgers win streak comes to an end at 7 games as the Dodgers (86-35) drop both games to the Astros (71-50) by scores of 3-1 and 3-2. The story of the series was the Dodgers inability to drive in runners in scoring position.

Ross Stripling and Kenta Maeda were credited with the losses.

Next up is a 9 game road trip starting off with 4 games in San Diego (59-62).

          Projected pitching matchups are:
          Game 1: Clayton Kershaw (10.5, 2.27) v Joey Lucchesi (7-6, 2.78)
          Game 2: Walker Buehler (8-2, 2.36) v Eric Laur (10.6, 2.27)
          Game 3: Julio Urias (12-3, 2.75) v Chris Paddock (3-4, 3.61)
          Game 4: Ross Stripling (13-4, 2.94) v Matt Strahm (3-4, 6.97)

With the projected pitching matchups leaning favorable for the Dodgers, and also holding a 13.5 game lead in the West, the plan is to once again allow the bench to receive significant playing time.

Well MLB '20 will have the rebranding/relocation/custom team option as well as full minor league rosters out of the box. It also will have the updated rules in regards to rosters being 26 men, 28 man September callups, and will have the new injured list rules which is 15 days for pitchers and 10 days for position players.

The have also added in the new rules for designating two way players.

If those are things you desire to have in franchise, then I say get '20. If they aren't, then you'll have to decide if the new gameplay additions/upgrades are worth the asking price for '20.

You also get the new Rangers stadium which might matter if you have a team that plays them regularly.

                  Cardinals drop series to Pirates

The Cardinals dropped the series to the Pirates in Pittsburgh after losing the final two games. The Cardinals are now 82-77 on the season as they head West to face the Padres for the final 3 games of the season. The Padres are competing for both the NL West title and a wildcard spot.

Despite the struggles on the season, the Cardinals can take solace in the fact that they will finish with a .500 or better record for the 9th straight season. That will be of little comfort to a team that was a favorite to win the National League pennant coming into the season, and possibly the World Series.

But as 2024 comes to a close, the Cardinals have gotten an extended look at young players who faced teams throwing their best at them as they compete for playoff spots. And in those extended looks the Cardinals have found that there is talent on the cusp of reaching the major leagues, just need an avenue.

So while 2024 has been a bust, the Cardinals have the roster and depth to be considered a contender in 2025 and that is before any offseason roster changes.

Playoff spots clinched and races for final weekend

As we head into the final 3 games of the 2024 season, here is a look at playoff spots that are already clinched and the races that will be exciting to watch over the weekend.

                  Clinched playoff spots

16 games into Spring Training and have some positional battles brewing.

Back up Middle Infield: Ty France vs Greg Garcia vs Gordon Beckham vs Breyvic Valera vs Jake Cronenworth
CF: Juan Lagares (hitting .340) vs Franchy Cordero (.276 with 5 HR, most clutch)
Backup C: Austin Hedges vs Luis Torrens
Back up OF: Josh Naylor (.333 with 3 HR) vs Wil Myers (.176 but making $20 mil a year)

is there any way to add options to players, even before beginning a franchise? I have a couple SCEA real players (rookies) without any options for some reason and its screwing things up with my roster construction.

There is no way to edit options. SCEA adds rookies with 0 options, ridiculous of them.

Spring Training Completed, a lot of hard choices to make (some forced because SCEA adds rookies w/ 0 options).

The AA Sod Poodles are loaded and have an amazing pitching staff that I can't wait to see how they progress.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

Need to practice typing on my new ergonomic keyboard, so I figured I'd to a breakdown of a team that isn't my own but in my fictional universe and has caught my eye.

Oakland Athletics: Failure on the brink of success.

Ever since 2014, there have been few teams who have been such consistent failures than the Oakland Athletics. Poor management and a losing mentality saw a situation where they ended up at the bottom of the league with an empty farm system. By the time 2016 rolled into view, things could not look bleaker for the organization. But something changed that year. Oakland, knowing they were on the path to eternal failure, began a firesale. Anyone of any potential value was sold. Youth was the focus, and the A's gripped tightly onto anything with future potential. They were aiming for the bottom and they didn't care about the present.

This culminated in several years of early draft picks. Oakland protected their youth by liberally using the rule 6 draft to keep their MLB team a losing mess. They were cautious about their commitments, favouring one year and done deals over making any splashes. They were losing, but their was a plan.

The 2020 season was more of the same on the surface. they once again were once of the worst teams in the MLB. But there was one key difference. These kids were not mostly made of rule 6 castaways and free agent bargain bin deals. There were signs of an actual team existing. The infield, rotation and bullpen were all full of upside, the potential for the future.

Then came the off-season between 2020 and 2021. Most didn't realize it yet, but this would be a key moment in baseball. For years, 4 teams were the clear and dominant teams of baseball. The Toronto Blue Jays, the LA Dodgers, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Texas Rangers. All four oozed with talent, boasting star power and depth across the board. But it could never last. The Rangers ran into budget issues. The Dodgers and the Reds were locked into long term contracts and could't hold onto their youth. The Blue Jays had a little more freedom, but with their farm system so packed, talent had to be cut at some level. And it all culminated in an off-season frenzy. Lots of the bottom feeders loaded up with talent. The Phillies gorged themselves, going from a joke to a potential contender seemingly overnight. The Mets added solidifying pieces to their rebuild. But the A's may have been the biggest winners.

They added not one, but two marquee outfielders. They picked up Kelvin Herrera to act as a solid end to their budding bullpen. But the big prize was Masahiro Tanaka, adding that all important ace to a budding rotation.

Now we come to the A's of today. Their lineup has depth, their defense is good, and their pitching is great. There is a ton of upside across the entire team, and one more piece could be all they need to push themselves into a contender.

It's not just the fact that they only need one more piece, but the fact that the odds are it could be available soon. CF is an obvious spot that needs improvement, and there is likely to be a quality one available in the off-season. It's no secret that Mike Trout wants to leave the Blue Jays, and frankly the Jays can't keep him forever. Even if they can, that would open up one of Jarome Mauzoul or Trey Bloom (or more likely both). Any of those three would be a good fit in the A's lineup, and here's the kicker: the A's have prospects to spare. There is no doubt they can entice one of those three away from the youth obsessed Jays.

You combine that last potential X factor with the current upside on the team, you have a potential monster team in the making.

                                Closer Question

hey guys, gotta question about bringing up AA & AAA closers to your major league bullpen, would you say it's a good idea to change their position from closer to regular reliever? and change whomever is next in line in the minors bullpen from reliever to closer? thanks.
