I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Let’s face it, if you are asking the question you already know the answer. Hurry up and download it!

I Did it last night because I could afford to not because I needed any of the bonuses. But, the primary reason was to play early and I did not mind contributing to, who I think is the best developer out there along with the 2K outfit

This is my first time playing MLB the Show, so im coming from a different place than most.

But here i my initial impressions.

        1. BEAUTIFUL GAME. Just gorgeous. All the little details and animations are incredible.

        2. Base running seems to be more complicated and difficult than it should be.

        3. I really like the fielding throw meter. For the first time ever, over throwing the first baseman and pulling him off the bag feels organic and not random.

        4. I really like zone hitting. The variety of hits ive seen so far has been great.

        5. I dont really like any of the pitching interfaces. Ive never liked the pitching meter and classic seems too random and mindless. Pulse and analog are the ones that ive been using. Both are "okay".

Overall, this game is really fun to play. So far its one of the best baseball games ive played.

I’m using the Braves against the Angels and I’m trying to forge a come back in the 9th inning

With 2 on and 1 out, I’m poised to have Freddie end it in heroic fashion. I get jammed badly because I’m an idiot and swing at everything. Bat breaks as recognized by the commentary and it’s a simple, weak, embarrassing bloop 2 feet in front of the plate. My reflex was to curse (thank goodness my daughter was downstairs) as Castro settled under it for an easy second out.

          But, wait,...he didn’t catch it

Either he overran it or the wind was active because the ball seemed to hit his helmet and roll down his back. You heard that right. I can’t bet my life that this is what happened but I’m about 90% sure. During that play there was also a weird squiggly yellow-ish or orangeish line that appeared above or behind Castro

My only regret is that I did not check the defensive ratings for that because I don’t know the Angels roster very well. If there is anybody who follows the angels close, does this approximate how Castro plays defense?

I change the base running to classic right out of the gate. Maybe you will find it more intuitive.

I also like to use classic pitching but that’s another story

i'm the same on both. On classic pitching you rely on the abilities of the pitcher and you really have to pitch "smart" to try to get guys out.

                  - playing on Balanced (1440p), colors seem to pop more and graphics overall seem a little sharper than 19. Maybe all in my head
-soundtrack is horrible. Will be loading up a USB stick with 50+ of my own songs to load Sounds of the Show when I get a chance today.
-Still feels like The Show, but the minor improvements/changes to gameplay all seem positive so far.
                  - minor leaguers are pretty hit and miss in this initial roster update. Hard to tell who is real and who is fake. Many players appear to have no name audio assigned (though this is editable in these players).

The throwing metre is not even working for me, tried RTTS and chise, it is set to on but nothing.... it is exactly like last year, no metre, I checked all settings it is indeed set to on.

Is it me, or do pitches have a bit more movement this year?

Who actually likes the bullpen pitcher dropping his glove on the way to the mound????

Why is this still in the game. It’s so bush league.

Even though I swing at everything, I’m noticing that the CPU throws plenty of balls outside the zone without having to touch a single slider

Yep!... drawing plenty of walks without quick counts!

Maybe I’m missing something...Cpu vs Cpu games in play now ..The pitch type and speed is visible after every pitch against catcher. Wondering if this is new I can’t get rid of it..
