Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
Same. I use armors sliders. Couldnt be more happy. I guess people don't realize you can go a couple games without a homerun.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
For me, 19 was in my top 3 sports games ever played hours wise. Only Madden 12 and NCAA 14 have more cumulative hours played than 19. I found myself truly immersed within my franchises in last year's game.
I find myself feeling different about 20. I can't immerse myself in my main franchise even though it is a carry over and I am invested in my players or even new franchises I have tried. Something about it just feels different to me. It may be I am expecting the same thing in terms of immersion in my franchises in 19 and I am not getting it this year.
I think 20 is definitely a good game but I find myself struggling to really get into it. I don't know. It's hard to describe. For me 19 was the best baseball game ever and maybe that is clouding me. And who knows maybe it is just the state of things outside of this that is removing that fire.
I am not giving up on 20 by any means. I just haven't found that fire I had last year in 19.
Hoping that passion for the game returns.
The game play is good on the field but I like to spend a lot of my time building up teams and franchise just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I wish there was more to offer in the sim aspect like better scouting, draft classes, etc but know that isn't a likely change for a while or at all
Maybe sometime later this year, I can find my passion for this game but it's just not there. I am not engaged at all with it this year. I am taking an extended break from the game and from sports gaming this summer and hope that helps.Funkycorm

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
Almost 2 months later and what gaming time I have, I am not turning to this game. It came out of my rotation about mid May after I tried to reinvigorate myself with a new franchise.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
It has been quite the opposite for me. I have played 20 more than any other version to this point in the year.
I am going to wrap up Year 4 of my Yankees carryover by September. I am playing a new 1980’s fantasy draft franchise and mixing in other classic seasons.
It has been amazing.
The gameplay has simply hooked me more than ever.
Hope you can find some Show mojo next cycle DJ.

Game just keeps playing worse and worse. Was almost perfect out of the box. Now it's a messComment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
Bought this yesterday.. literally see hardly any difference between this and 19. It feels and looks the same. What am I missing?

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
the major player for me is fixing my 80's era rosters to approximate service time. not a big deal to most people. online, it's Showdown and Custom Leagues but I dont do online. Franchise mode has more real minor leaguers than ever before. Sony says ''Full Minors'' but I think the meaning of 'full' got lost in translation. also new is franchise relocation or rebranding. again, not a big deal for me personally. Majestic Athletic uniforms are now switched to Nike, if small details is your thing. also, new in-stadium adverts for Chevy, Chik-fil-A, Coke, Citgo, Delta, Wintrust among other small detailsOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

yeah, myself, I'm a sick puppy and need help. I've pretty much come to terms with my wantlist being a pipedream and now just readily give them my money every year, even if it's at least nothing more than a 'roster update'OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
I get that baseball is a random sport but this game takes it way too far. I honestly feel like it doesnt even matter if I'm playing well or not because the game is going to decide whether or not I can hit. Would be nice to feel like I have some barring on the outcome of the game.Comment

Funny how we all see differently things. I guess my age (I'm 48) having played a crap ton of video games over my life...I find this title to be the greatest sports video game I've ever played. Ever. A LOT of fun - but I'm a simple guy.
Graphics are eye popping. The sounds. The subtle things. Some warts? yeah, sure does. But a beautiful game where I get so much variety and there are times where each pitch has me on the edge.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS
