Man, if you are not planning on carry this over to franchise then there is really no reason not to empty the farm system. I am playing as the Cardinals and traded away most of my good prospects for

Corey Dickerson - Replacing Tyler O'Neill in LF
Jorge Soler - Replacing Fowler in RF
Eduardo Escobar - Replacing Carpenter at 3B
JT Realmuto - Replacing Yadi at C

I have a much stronger lineup and a good bench now.

Played a whole half of a season with the Angels only to be greeted by a "Could not authenticate this PS4, rewards will not be earned" screen at the 1st half evaluation even though I never quit. Thanks, SDS.

This is what I basically did with my Twins run I'm doing. My bullpen is absolutely stacked out.

Playing through with the Tigers and it has taken forever. We were in a close race at the end, so it has made me play in 9 of the last 12 games of the season, usually 4 innings or more, including the full 9 innings of the final game. This has taken twice as long as any of the others I played and has been pretty boring tbh, what is the point in building your momentum if I still have to play and win every game myself anyway? Then at the end of it, you get the same reward as if you did it with a much better team, only having to play about half as much. Very weird.

EDIT now I won the 9 inning game 162 and it means I tied for the division lead, meaning I now have to play an entire 9 inning game 163 as well. For a mode that's supposed to be shorter, I've played about half of the last month of the season!

I think it has to do with the tiers; when I used the Twins I didn't have to play hardly any games down the stretch once I had a good lead in the division.

I can already tell using the White Sox that I'm going to be asked to play more games to prove (for lack of a better term) my team's hot streak. I actually don't mind that and for the really low-rated teams, I'd prefer to have at least a say in how my team is doing than leaving it up to simulation.

More I play this mode more I think its weighed toward the success of the user. I've had so many comebacks...in including a pitch hit 3 run hr to take me to the wildcard game.

Just FYI, here's what happens if you don't make the playoffs.

I played on Dynamic and did well through the first 80% of the season. Then, went into a prolonged slump with pitching on HOF and hitting on AS. As a last ditch effort to make the playoffs with 12 games remaining, I turned down the difficulty. I was 2.0 games out of the wildcard. It will only allow you to go down to Beginner, for some reason. That was like HR Derby on Beginner! I won all the games I played through the last 12, but still ended up 0.5 out of the wildcard. The other teams just wouldn't lose, so it was definitely not weighed toward the User in this case.

The Cards won 88 games which was -3 from expectations. I got only 4 Affinity Points, after getting 9 at the ASB, for a total of 13.

Crucial game 163 to decide if we win the division or not, do you reckon we should roll with our ace Matt Boyd? Nah, better to let number 5 man Ivan Nova have a go, he's been pretty terrible all year so is probably due a big game. Best help him out by resting all our best hitters as well, Daniel Lugo and Jordy Mercer have the look of destiny about them.

The AI on this game is genuinely astounding

Question: has anyone converted a MtO run to a franchise? If so, any observations on how CPU rosters/development/draft classes seemed to pan out?

I simmed the offseason on my Rays one and everything essentially just exploded. The whole thing looked a complete mess afterwards tbh

                        Not good, imo.

I let CPU/AI handle all of my transaction as well, just wanting to see how it'd play out. I was Minnesota and in the offseason they managed to trade away Josh Donaldson, Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton, getting nothing really of value in return.

It is massively weighted towards comebacks, or "excitement" in general. THe amount of BS that happens in this mode is off the charts, both for and against you. Summed up pretty well by the line score of my game 163

Literally had zero doubts that I'd come back in the 10th, I wasn't remotely concerned. They kept taking the lead on absolute BS runs (homers on pitches out of the zone, fielders not reacting, not throwing it quickly etc) and then I kept replying straight back with every swing landing safe, regardless of how good it was. Then as soon as I'd get level, it would go back to perfect line outs and balls caught at the track.

I think that comeback option back in the day is alive and well in MTO. 100%

Appreciate the responses guys....unfortunate, but it doesn't really surprise me tbh. I had thought about possibly doing one to get a jump start on a chise....but I think I'll do it the old-fashioned way (playing all 162).

I'm happy SDS added a lot more features to MTO this year.

However, it doesn't appear I can bring up any AAA players? Am I missing something?

I just started a Reds MTO, and there are guys in AAA I would prefer to have in my lineup/bench than some of the MLB guys.
