That being said. I try to make sure i accept only fairish trades but you talked me into it. Let me go accept that trade lmao.
Hey, I didn’t say I would personally make that trade haha. I probably wouldn’t from either side. I was thinking of it more from a neutral POV, as in would I go and reverse that CPU trade (30 team control) or would I just let it go.

If that’s your serious franchise I’d feel like I cheated the CPU, but if you’re someone just messing around until Ridin’s full minors is out then why not?

Alright. I see a lot of talk about it over the years, but that’s my thought also. I think a lot of the time when we take the lead we may let off a bit, letting the AI come back.

As for impressions I am loving this! I just hope they address commentary next year, as it’s very stale for long time players

I thought this was supposed to be better? This is the worst trade I've seen in all my years in this game.
That would never, ever happen. Carlson is untouchable and Hicks could be as well. Even if the Cardinals are in "win now" mode, that's a horrible trade.

Although this game didn't add anything "shiny" the polish really shows. The game plays great, fielding just "feels" better, and I like the haptic feedback.

Although I would love to see huge franchise additions the team did address some of the legacy bugs and has done, what I consider, substantial improvements to logic namely contracts.

I know they are addressing concerns from the community and I am eager to see the finished product after they have touched this up.

I do miss some things we lost. Sounds of the show and a few franchise features, but overall an improvement and I don't feel like I wasted $90 in any way.

Played my third live roster game today. Made it to dynamic Legend in MTO but preferred HOF w/ sliders in 20. My pitching has been fine on AS, probably even too good, but struggled to hit on AS in first two as PIT then SD. Dropped hitting to Veteran and beat on the Padres 14-1 w/ LA. Guess I need to get dynamic to Vet+ and work from there.

Overall, I feel like fielders are a bit too quick and baserunners maybe a hair too fast. But other than that I'm feeling the ball-in-play gameplay. Pitcher/batter is The Show, which is mostly good, but need to find difficulty balance to really enjoy that aspect. I haven't tried Pinpoint yet after fooling with it in the tech test (but had zero idea what I was doing).

Why is there no pregame intro with a live roster exhibition game? It jumps right to the first batter. It is possibly because I turned off sideline reports?

Love the gameplay. 2nd to none. But the rest of it (non-gameplay features) are starting to remind me of Madden. Issues with the default rosters (age, ratings, positions), trade logic, same 'ol scouting and training, and the menus are horrible. And the bat sounds remind me of tee ball games.

I can't believe someone looked at these menus and decided they were an improvement over '20. Or reviewed the rosters and trade logic, and came to the conclusion it's better than 20.

The gameplay is better. I felt that way during the stress test, but everything else needs a lot of love in a patch, which I'm patiently waiting on to start my franchise(s).

Speaking of franchises... anyone know if Bacon is going to be able to put up his fictional roster?

Here's one of the bombs I hit off Darvish on Veteran. Everyone's favorite no-doubter camera makes an appearance, with the angle causing Muncy to block the flight of the ball:

                        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/y_WaA85i-5c" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Mookie hit one to dead-center the previous AB and I hit another one later this inning after scuffling for the first couple innings. Finally got my approach back and started sitting on pitches until two strikes. Granted it's a lot easier to hit with the Dodgers than the Pirates.

After some more time with the game on PS5 I will say with out a doubt that the frame rate/slow down is still a thing. It has only become more prevalent the more I play.

I don't understand all the changes they have made, unless SOTS is back next year or they acknowledge and address the slow downs I think this is the last year for me. This slow down has been going on for at least 3 years that I can remember. Might be longer.

I thought that was weird as well- jumping right to the first batter in a live rosier game. No set up or intro. VERY odd.

So I've taken a break from the show since 18 because I didn't feel like there were any differences in every release.
It was sort of the same with Madden and 2k It just felt like the same thing over and over and sometimes even getting worse.
I am for the most part a franchise player and I usually have a road to the show with a pitcher and position player I've never really liked diamond dynasty and it annoyed me because I felt like they were designed to facilitate microtransactions
It's my biggest complaint and reason that I stopped playing Madden and 2K

And It seems like the show went the same route and it's sort of based around that.

I've only played a little bit of road to the show and that hasn't been that enjoyable.
Well let me rephrase that because when I'm playing the game It's great it the gameplay seems very smooth on the ps5 and it doesn't seem like it's changed much from the last time I played with 18
But everything else has been pretty annoying
Apparently there's been server problems and I thought it was the cat 6 cable that I'm using because that's given me problems but I switched to wifi and it's the same and I ran across something online saying it was the servers.

And I'm also having a ton of problems with this load out system and I'm not really sure how to use it and I really haven't found any tips or guide's about it so I'll keep messing around with it and figure it out but until then it's been a little frustrating.
I haven't really spent a lot of time playing and I'm sure I'll figure it out and whatever the bug's are they'll fix but My first impression isn't that great

Where are you seeing it? I’m also on ps5 and it’s way better to me than 20 was on ps4.

There are a few things I am noticing after 30 games:

WAY too many routine throws from the outfield to the infield are wild and allow the runner to advance..

Auto base running is still way too cautious. A pitch to the backstop results in the runner just staying put on first base. I could do manual running but I don’t like it

I’m noticing that nearly every game I start the first few innings on a nice roll, only to go into a shell and the pitchers confidence skyrockets. This isn’t a complaint about the game, only more so my inept offensive skills

The amount of unique hits is at an all time high. I am seeing a lot of bloopers that I never have before, as well as hard line drives that have a fade to them. Very happy with the hit variety

The shadows really play havoc on you in certain stadiums. I play as the twins, and during day games I have to play with overcast. I had this issue last year where it’s really hard to pick the ball up. Some stadiums are awesome for that, such as Shea, Wrigley and Camden yards. I played some of my home games last year in the metrodome also

The birds circling the outfield were cool at first, but it’s getting a little old. Not as bad as that one stadium (San Diego?) that constantly has airplanes though

I’m 30 games into my 162 game season. I play every pitch and don’t simulate anything. I haven’t touched online or anything like moments. I plan to finish this season and try a White Sox season next. Hell of a value for $99 this year for me. I think 22 will be even better when they can focus on next gen only
